  1. Ultimate is awful. I was heartbroken when I found out Paul Dini was involved. He was golden during the DCAU era but he has fallen low on this piece of shit. Peter is useless, the team isn't much better, Fury is a joke. The jokes are pandering to the lowest common denominator and are just plain unfunny. On the bright side, once Earth's Mightiest Heroes finishes this season we get a new Avengers show set in this universe along with this and HULK: Agent of S.M.A.S.H. I don't mind if a show is targeted young, but don't make it a pandering piece of shit. See Batman: The Brave and the Bold to see how to do a young children's superhero show right.
  2. First, savage: better image of him. Dude is a barbarian first, civilized second. Again, the problem with all of these vs battles is the fact that setting the "rules" of the fight is problematic. In a room with no way out and no gear? Probably Wolvie. If they each had to hunt each other across the city for 24 hours and it was a running fight? Bats by a mile. Bats has MUCH better mobility than Wolverine has via his gliding, ziplines, vehicles and the like. Fact is he could probably pepper Wolverine from a distance with all sorts of stuff while Logan tries in vain to get close to him. The to the death thing seems problematic mainly because well, Bats doesn't kill, that and that Nitro comic never happened. As for gadgets, Bats has several standard ones that can work well, you have a metric ass ton of batarangs of different shapes, sizes, and abilities. A freeze one, a high explosive one, or an extremely powerful gas one could knock Wolvie out for a period of time. Second, cuffs, yeah not that glamorous, but Bruce has cuffs that can hold people like Croc, and they are damned strong, he also locks the wrists together, so once that's done, the claws become a bit useless. Moving beyond that a high powered flash bang would mess Logan up, high concentrate tranqs have knocked him out as well. Back at the cave we can pull out other stuff as well, ultrasonics, power armor, magic swords, and a whole load of other stuff. Give him a blood sample and a day and he'll likely find out how to at least retard the healing factor, but even without that Bats should be able to knock Wolverine out. and keep him out. And most of these items aren't a result of massive prep. A lot of these he has on him all the time, or can have delivered to him quickly. So no this is by no means a Batman has no chance scenario.
  3. Three words: GIANT BAT MAGNET. Bats is home in time for tea. Ra's is about 500 years older than Logan, and extremely well skilled. Then there is Vandal Savage, a literally immortal guy who has been around for 50,000 years so yeah, Vandal's body count beats Wolvie's by a lot. Back again with this pay grade crap. Batman has been a Justice League member for pretty much ever, and he's so badass they don't even bother calling him unless shit is REALLY bad. Your boy didn't rate being on the Avengers until Marvel needed to boost sales. Batman killed Darkseid, he's faced hordes of ridiculous shit, beaten people like Bain and Clayface on a regular fucking basis, has fought a dude with ridiculous skills and a healing factor, Deathstroke. He's also fought and beaten Hulk like creatures (Solomon Grundy.) fought off alien invasions and the like. His 'pay grade' has always been the top teir of the DCU, and to act otherwise is to short sell him. Probably because you hate rich people. And before anyone gets in on how wrong I am, after the last 'Batman vs.' debate I learned something. You taught me just how badass Captain America is. Cap is an uber strong tactical genius who takes no prisoners and is the top teir of the Marvel U. Cap can, and did beat Wolverine. And since Bats can beat Cap handily of course he can make Logan cry like a little girl. /thread Yep, that should give Nick an aneurism.
  4. Lagoon Company Regulates Yeah so I was looking if there were any AMVs to current popular dance songs, and most of them are pure shit (the songs, and the AMVs) Then this one came along. Holy crap at fitting anime to the song, and the timing on this is CRAZY. Props From that same set of searches a different AMV, but another really good one. And the best Summer Wars AMV ever (spoilers)
  5. How's everyone liking this season? The heroes for hire ep was pretty sweet, but I'm just not feeling it like I was last season, the fights the drama, everything felt better last year. And the animation still sucks. Well, sucks is pretty strong, but it is decidedly average. Compare this to Young Justice or Korra and it's striking how bad it looks. Still I hope it picks up soon, I loved Season 1, and I'm hoping this was just a slow start for the season. And PLEASE let Jewel show up She's not showing up at all is she?
  6. Crazy that both DC and Vertigo have good vampire titles RUnning. Snyder is a beast, so of course American Vampire is good, but I, Vampire is my surprise of the New 52, really good series with a pretty crazy story and gorgeous art. Anyhow picked up Earth 2 and World's Finest #1's this week, and both were great. Nikola Scott killed it art wise in Earth 2, and Perez back on pencils for World's Finest makes me a happy man. I recommend them both.
  7. Tru dat. The T-shirt and Jeans combo is better than any other Superboy outfit ever. It just works. The new one in the cmoics is pretty bleh, but still better than most. Anyhow, I heard Teen Titans ended up being pretty good, and I do mean to try it again at some point, but to me Titans is always about the Perez/Wolfman run, and while I heard the show took a lot from it, it was just too weird for me. I like that Young Justice is close in style to the old DCAU, and it isn't too kiddie. Superhero shows that are too kiddified just never work for me (though there were some good episodes of The Batman, they suceeded by being less pandering than the norm). Anyhow, yeah Young Justice is just plain sweet, especially if you are a fan of the old school version of Kid Flash and Robin. I'm serious, this may be my favorite animated version of Robin ever.
  8. Loving the series, BKV has yet to disappoint me, I really need to read beyond the first HC of Ex Machina tho. The art has been great, curious to see just where the story is going tho. Also, that blondie looks like the best Castlevania enemy never made.
  9. I was trying to figure out how this would work on the digital services. Nothing as of yet. I heard that comixology would be doing something, but haven't heard much past that. I figure Dark Horse whould be doing some stuff too. Also, what is the difference between the Gold and Silver comics in Nick's list?
  10. Also, who was the Black dude at the computer all episode? I couldn't place his name.
  11. This show started last year and I'm still kinda amazed at the fact there isn't a thread for it. This is probably the best superhero show since Justice League. It is damn good. The animatiion is great, the characters are cool, the story is awesome, and it is quite a lot of fun. It's amazing how DC can struggle to all hell to make compelling versions of these characters in comics sometimes and yet animated or in movies they tend to just plain rock. Anyhow YJ follows Robin, Aqualad, Superboy, Miss Martian, Artemis, and Kid Flash as they form a team that does covert-ops for the Justice League, well, that's how it starts. It gets pretty nuts from there. Season 2 just started on Saturday and I have to say, HOLY SHIT I did not see that coming. Talk about not being afraid to change things up! Anyone else watching this? If not I can't recommend it enough.
  12. Go Mike!!!!!!!! Kick that Butt-lipped dudes ass!!!!
  13. Glad everyone is liking it, especially as a book fan. It just means more glorious speculation to watch. Heh. The Lemon cakes vid was cool, though those who are long time visitors to the Miami game of thrones parties have known that Lulu makes a mean lemon cake for a long time now.
  14. Huge batman sale going on for comixology. DKR is $3.96 for the whole shebang, and the Scott Snyder run on Detective Comics is also part of the sale. Very worth it! Year one is also cheap as hell along with a whole lot of other bat goodness.
  15. Dark Brotherhood 4 Life!!! God I loved that questline. Yeah you are a douche for so much of it, but hail Sithis!!!! I'm less the serial killer that TheLogan is and more of a professional assasin. I will do the job, but not go out of my way to murder folk. Unless you are a Thalmar. Then fuck you, I will kill you, your family and anyone who has given you aid and comfort. Fuck those high elf bitches. Game is great, nearly 100 hours in and still loving it. Will give it a bit of break as I'm now juggling it and Arkham City, but it could very well be the best Elder Scrolls game. Best time, having to assassinate a head of state who is holed up on a ship, needing a distraction, then a DRAGON shows up while I'm sneaking aboard. SKYRIM!!
  16. I'd read the first couple of issues a while back for Mourning Glories. Interesting and odd, though I stopped it. The Comixology sale at $1 an issue had me pick it up again, I'll prolly get to it sometime this week.
  17. That is a fact. I love the one just before it too:
  18. Detective Comics 871-881 are now up on comixology. It's that really good run from the last year that got Snyder his gig writing the mainline Batman series right now. Great stuff, and the trades aren't going to be out for a while yet.
  19. Think it depends. For certain books, having them physical is nice, but I can see myself getting a lot of stuff in Digital, especially if the price is right. It's just damn convenient.
  20. Wasn't Martian Manhunter in the first volume of Sandman also? I have barely read Sandman, but IIRC he was looking for Oreos or something Gaiman-y.
  21. I dunno, I saw the vids back at e3, and I thought the game looked pretty awful. Isometric can work, but the game seemed slow as hell, kinda like Mario's answer to Sonic 3d Blast.
  22. Well, never had a problem with the purchase or owning of books on my kindle. I don't see the prices being awful either. Watchmen for $10 seems fair.
  23. You have, American Vampire actually did something new with the genre, well fairly new, and it is great. It has some amazing characters, the books read well as issues, and the art is great. Very good stuff. The third arc just finished, and I am loving it.
  24. I actually meant Batman #1 from last week. I expected Dark Knight to be shit, and it looks it.
