Reverend Jax
We've done John Williams (and I used the word 'we' lightly, not many of you voted on that poll), so it would be unfair to not inclue Danny Elfman too.
JunkerSeed
I had to go with edward scissorhands, may not be the catchiest, but definately the most memorable for me.
MyLeakyBucket
I know most of the movies but be goddamned if I can remember the scores ??? Besides, wasn't the main tune in Mars Attacks thast old shitty song that made the aliens heads explode?
Reverend Jax
Mars Attacks had a really cool theme that played during the opening credits while they have the shots of all the saucers coming to earth in formations.
King of Snake
Beetlejuice, one of the first of his I'd heard, maybe not his best, but it's the one that stuck with me most. Didn't know he did Mission Impossible, probably forgot cos he didn't do the main theme. It'd be cool to have a thread (or threads) to vote for best score ever, I'd nominate Das Boot, Fight Club, 12 Monkeys, Brazil and Requiem for a Dream for starters. Silent Bob
I think Batman's definitely the most memorable in the list, but I woulda chosen some of the songs from Nightmare Before Christmas as the most hummable. And yeah he did do the score for the first Mission: Impossible movie, but that doesn't count cause the best part of that score was already written for him. Reverend Jax
Damn, I forgot Nightmare Befroe Christmas! I left out Mission: Impossible for the very reason you mention above there, Bob.
JunkerSeed
Wow... you forgot nightmare before christmas? I thought that you didn't put it in because it's not really all a score, the entire thing's a musical so it kind of makes it a different thing altogether, my vote definately would have gone to that, I love that movie, know all the words to the soundtrack... Reverend Jax
Yeah, I guess it's best It's not up there, not being a score and all. this is halloween, this is halloween, halloween, halloween, halloween, halloween!
Silent Bob
Tender lumplings everywhere, life's no fun without a good scare... By the way, did anyone else notice how annoyingly similar his Spider-man theme was to the first two Batman themes?
JunkerSeed
The one thing I was really dissapointed in in spiderman was the score. It seemed like he just threw in the shit left over from batman. I don't think he should have done the music for spiderman at all. Spiderman and batman are almost opposites... they should not have similar scores, I liked his score for planet of the apes (like the movie or not, danny elfman tried something different, did kind of an electronic theme that was interesting) more than spiderman's music. Reverend Jax
Yeah, we did mention this before Bob. It wasn't really a BAD score, it was just too similar Batman. I would say Elfman should have done it, I think he COULD have done something good and original, he just didn't ???
Reverend Jax
By the way, I'm totally surprised that I was the only one to go with the Simpsons on the poll. Next time you watch the Simpson (shouldn't be TOO long for any of us here ), listen to it carefully. It's a damn good theme song. Very complex and well orcastrated. King of Snake
But the same can be said of Beetlejuice too. ???
soldier of fortune
Have to be Beetlejuice, just stuck with me, although Batman was one hell of a score!!
Reverend Jax
to KOS: true, but I figured it would be the heavy favorite. I mean how many times have you seen Beetlejuice? And how many times have you watched The Simpsons? Gives it the advantage int he 'memorable' department.
King of Snake
Dunno, maybe it's not doing as well cause people know it TOO well. Other scores may be getting votes cos of the whole 'abscence makes the heart go fonder' shit?
Reverend Jax
I don't know, the Simpsons theme song still turns my crank.
JunkerSeed
I picked Edward Scissorhand cause it's the most memorable for me, prolly my favorite burton movie, the whole choir part just gets me every time. It's close though, lots of them are really damned good.
Reverend Jax
don't get me wrong, Most of those are all very good, I was just expecting more votes for the Simpsons.
