soldier of fortune
Ok, was thinking of this the other day, most of us here have wildly varied musical taste, anything goes for me, in terms of i'll give most stuff a listen, then form judgement, exceptions to that rule though is most if not all boy band music, shitty europop, that kinda thing. Normally i'll pick up a CD and listen to it for a few days on the way to work, so here goes. The album i'm currently playing in my car is Godskitchen - Trance Anthems - none of that shite Gigi D'Agostino to be found here Tracklisting Disc 1 1. Fragma - Toca Me (Club Mix) 2. Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Gabriel & Dresden Remix) 3. Faithless - God Is A DJ (Monster Mix) 4. Conjure One – Tears From The Moon (Tiësto Remix) 5. DJ Sakin & Friends - Protect Your Mind (Lange Remix) 6. Cygnus X – Superstring (Rank 1 Remix) 7. Tillmann Uhrmacher - On The Run (Ocean To Shore Mix) 8. Paul van Dyk – Time Of Our Lives (PvD Club Mix) 9. Moby – Extreme Ways (DJ Tiësto Instrumental Remix) 10. Insigma – Open Your Eyes 11. Marc Et Claude – La (Moonman Flashover Edit) 12. Minimalistix – Struggle For Pleasure 13. CRW – I Feel Love (Jam X & De Leon Remix) 14. Goureyella – Tenshii 15. Armin – Communication 3 16. Mauro Picotto – Komodo (Megavoices Remix) 17. Blank & Jones – Cream 18. Tiësto – Adagio For Strings Disc 2 1. Three Drives - Greece 2000 2. 4 Strings – Into The Night (Gabriel & Dresden 4 Deep Remix) 3. Niels van Gogh - Pulverturm (Tomcraft Remix) 4. Solarstone – Solarcoaster 5. BBE - Seven Days & One Week (Club Mix) 6. Billy Hendrix – Body Shine 7. Moonman – Don’t Be Afraid (Brittany Remix) 8. Utah Saints – Lost Vagueness (Oliver Leib Remix) 9. Ferry Corsten – Punk 10. Ernesto vs Bastian – Dark Side Of The Moon (Original Extended Mix) 11. Lange – Drifiting Away 12. Ferry Corsten – Indigo 13. Ralphie B – Massive 14. Members Of Mayday - 10 in 01 15. Jurgen Vries – The Theme 16. Rank 1 – Breathing (Club Mix) 17. Oceanlab – Satellite 18. Tiësto – Urban Train Disc 3 1. Adam K & Soha – Twilight 2. Armin van Buuren – Sound Of Goodbye (Simon & Shaker Remix) 3. Deadmau5 – Arguru 4. First State feat. Anita Kelsey – Falling 5. Lange - Angel Falls (Lange's Firewall Mix) 6. Riley & Durrant – Candesco 7. Cosmic Gate – Body Of Conflict (Club Mix) 8. Sander van Doorn – Riff 9. Ayla – Ayla (Danny Nightingale Remix) 10. Bart Claesen - First Light 11. Marco V – False Light 12. Dogzilla – Without You 13. Paul van Dyk – New York City 14. Ferry Corsten – Galaxia 15. 4 Strings – Catch A Fall (Club Mix) 16. Filo & Peri – Anthem 17. Above & Beyond – Home (Remix) 18. Mark Eteson & John Prior – Dynamic Stability (Aly & Fila Remix) Ok, so in essence this is yet another best of trance album, but this is highly produced and very well mixed. I detest Tiesto as a DJ but as a producer of music i can't really fault him and this has two tracks of his, Adagio (inferior to Ferry Corsten's mix imo) and Suburban Train, both fit in well. Also featuring Armin van Burren, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk and Faithless. To name but a few. As with most albums of this type some discs are better than others, but the quality of the tracks is really good, but the best mixed disc in terms of closeness to an actual Club night is for me disc 3, it keeps a very steady fast rhythm through the whole disc, and is cracking. For those who think they know dance/trance music acalis i'm looking at you here give this a whirl, you won't be disappointed. And if you are, fuck off. I'd give this 4 outta 5. What are some of your favorite songs off of it that you'd recommend for someone to check out?

soldier of fortune
Invaders Must Die is the fifth studio album by the electronic act The Prodigy which was released during February and March 2009 on the band's new label "Take Me to the Hospital". The album was distributed by Cooking Vinyl. It is the first studio album released by the band since 2004's Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned and is the first Prodigy album since 1997's The Fat of the Land to feature all three members of the band So prodigy's new album is here, and after initially being disappointed, my opinion has changed somewhat. Tracklisting; 1. "Invaders Must Die" – 4:55 2. "Omen" – 3:36 3. "Thunder" – 4:08 4. "Colours" – 3:27 5. "Take Me to the Hospital" – 3:39 6. "Warrior's Dance" – 5:12 7. "Run with the Wolves" – 4:24 8. "Omen Reprise" – 2:14B 9. "World's on Fire" – 4:50 10. "Piranha" – 4:05 11. "Stand Up" – 5:35 Dave Grohl pops up on Stand Up and Run with the Wolves, giving great beat and drive to the drums. One thing that amazes me is that Liam Howlett didn't do much more producing in the day, he was asked to do Ray of Light but turned it down, and to be fair William Orbit did the biz there. I do think this album is an homage to the mad early 90s where the Prodigy originated. Samples, of old songs aplenty, mixed with big beats this truly is prodigy back on form. Rave mixed with Big Beat, ftw. Stand out tracks for me though are Invaders must Die, Omen, Take Me to the Hospital (my fave track), World's on Fire, Run with The Wolves, Piranha and Stand Up. Really this album has grown on me, as i listened to it loudly in the car daily on my way to work. You can only listen to prodigy loud. Pick it up, 4/5 from SoF. Much better than Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. Prodigy are back baby!!!
