  1. I have no complaints about the graphics. The updates are subtle, a little pixel smoothing here and there. Not enough to ruin the "retro" feel. I'm sure if I hooked up my sega and popped a few of these in the improvements would be much more evident, but as is I prob'ly wouldn't notice if I wasn't told. And as far as I can tell all the cheat codes for their respective games work and they don't disable achievements. Good times.
  2. Got the Genesis collection today. All that for $30? Holey moley, I couldn't afford not to. Pretty much exactly what I expected, a whole lot of awesome. I hadn't played Comix Zone in a coon's age. That game oozes so much fuckin' style...some current developers could learn a lot. I'm looking forward to playing Shining Force 2 again, that was the game that got me started on an RPG obsession that persists until this day. My only complaint is some really bad slowdown during Columns of all games. Hurm.
  3. Hurm. Now I need to think on my definition of "independent". I guess it's the large publishing infrastructure and distribution of Image that gives me that knee-jerk "not indie" reaction. I don't really consider Walking Dead indie, though it's clearly a labor of love. But then I can poke holes in my own argument, Fantagraphics is a major company but they publish a lot of what I'd consider Indie. I guess I don't really consider it a genre, but rather a method. I need to think more on this. I may retract my statement.
  4. That looks incredibly entertaining and I just might have passed it up. Thanks for the info. Now for some negativity. No.
  5. What can I say. I rip and I rhyme. I rhyme and I rip. Cuz that's the way that Dylon spit.
  6. I plan on snagging Secret Warriors at some point. I guess I'm just gonna post about new shit I'm reading (well, new to me) here. Cuz...well I'm an egomaniac I guess. Just finished Cerebus Vol.13: Going Home by Dave Sim. I know I'm way behind, I read a new Cerebus tpb every year or two at this point. I guess I'm just delaying the inevitable. I gotta say I don't quite get Sim's infatuation with F. Scott Fitzgerald, but the dude seems fucking OBSESSED. There's a great Alan Moore character about a quarter way through that's fuckin' spot on, had me rollin'. I have a feeling that this book is the calm before the storm and I'm going to have my soul crushed in the next one like I did with Jaka's Story. That book fucked me up (but that's a tale for another day).
  7. Chinese Stealth armor makes the DLC worth the price of admission imo. It's basically a 20 lb unlimited Stealth Boy. If you're crouched, you're cloaked. The Gauss Rifle does, like Dylon, spit-hot-fire. I've actually found myself not using V.A.T.'s with it and just picking off people as soon as I can see them. Gorgeous.
  8. If a tree falls in the forest and there's no o... ...I wouldn't give a shit.
  9. I've now given this a tad bit of critical (yet undeniably drunken) thought. The Samson theory is the first thing that popped into my head. But it just seems too obvious. A pretty perfect Red Herring (see what I did there? Red? Ah, nvm). The hair even looks the same, as well as pretty much everything that guy in Skeet's link mentioned. They also found Samson's shredded and highly irradiated clothes in an issue (#3? #4?? Doesn't matter). Here's the only hole I can find in the T. Ross theory: I've never seen Ross NOT rockin' a 'stache that I can recall. If it was Thunderbolt Red Hulk would have one too. What if Red Hulk was created in that energy burst at the end of WWH and it's Banner? I've heard speculation that it's Samson's doppelganger from another dimension (remember dark Beast from the Age of Apocalypse? I try not too.) If it's Ares, I quit. He's prob'ly just a Skrull... ...or an Ape (sigh).
  10. I'm gonna put in my early prediction that Red Hulk is General "Thunderbolt" Ross. When I'm proven right I expect some sort of pastry. If I'm wrong, then let us never speak of this again.
  11. Erm...yeah. Talk of pasty europeans aside, I think you're all underestimating the sheer depravity of Dopey. Once he gets goin', he's gotta put his dick in something. Dopey is a monster that cannot be stopped by mortal means, even if his lungs are made of candy silk or some shit. I dunno why I'm still talking. Just click the link.
  12. I hope I save a few souls today from Satan's cotton fingers . May god have mercy on you filth.
  13. I haven't read the comic, I guess I prob'ly should. The animated dvd that's coming out looks surprisingly cool, at least when judged in terms of the typical videogame tie-in.
  14. Swap god for a janitor, rot in a jar of dog paws. (It's a palindrome).
  15. This game looks to be shaping up better than I originally expected. I can't imagine I'll have time to get to it anytime around the release date though, my October/November is all booked up at this point. Quick note: Warren Ellis revealed that he provided the groundwork, backstory, and structure for Dead Space, not just the comic adaptation.
  16. MM9 does look very cool. I would pay more than I'd care to admit to have it on an NES cart. At least I wouldn't have to worry about RROD.
  17. Whoopsie daisy. I totally screwed up. Sorry about posting the HUP #3...I thought it was just covers that you dig...guess that's what I get for not being attentive. Sorry about that. I get a "n00bs get out of jail free" pass, right?
  18. If memory serves, they ended up changing the color of Oilman's lips in the American version. I guess that's enough to make the Suits less uncomfortable, I suppose it's slightly less Amos & Andy, but not much.
  19. Glad to see my gamerscore is good for something at least. I don't have the hardware to bootleg and I tragically don't test. I do, however, have a job that allows me free game rentals and I blatantly abuse Gamestop's liberal 7 day return policy on used games. I guess I prob'ly have a touch of the OCD too...oh well. Anywho, thanks for noticing and I'm glad to help.
  20. I've just recently discovered the zen of N+. I dig it, I'm just not that good at it yet. I have to take breaks pretty often to avoid controller-throwing fits of rage. Tag is Thelogan Prime.
  21. My fav's the 1976 Chevrolet Impala Station Wagon. My 1st car was one of these, except mine was fire-engine red with limo tinted windows. It had a power rear windshield, which I thought was the coolest thing ever. I believe it got something like 4 miles a gallon and it rarely started on the first attempt, but it holds a special place in my heart.
  22. Spent a lot of my childhood playing the 1st one, beat most of the others years later as ROM's (unapologetic "save state" abuse ftw!) And for your pleasure, I present Oilman: A racist caricature so blatant that you have to laugh.
