  1. I'm going to be Roller Girl for Halloween this year.
  2. Definitely dig all the new changes IC Is there a way to change my clock to account for the lack of daylight savings time? The board is an hour ahead of me. The time thing in My Controls only seems to allow me to choose my time zone, which, to my knowledge has not yet changed
  3. I'm moving to Tucson! Finally too sick of the cold weather to deal anymore. The West is calling...
  4. Saw it again last night. Still rocked!
  5. My first thought was, he lied in every word That hoary cripple, with malicious eye Askance to watch the working of his lie On mine, and mouth scarce able to afford Supression of the glee, that pursed and scored It's edge, at one more victim gained thereby ---Robert Browning
  6. Sure, especially if there were some small power associated with it. For example, let them choose their own skins, make the place more in their image (of course within the contrainst of your abilities and desires) and again some small power...not really sure what your capabilities are, so I'm lost for suggestions there. Also, you can have them elected for a certain amount of time. like serving a term, OR have them rule indefinitely until people get tired of them and call for revolution. Then the moderator is deposed (in a bloody and hateful fashion ) and a new one is elected. I think the first position should be that of Campaign Manager-- description: people come to this individual to get elected. CM decides who they will work with depending on what the candidate is willing to do for them. ( I see a lot of shady PMs here) As the CM is th eonly person who has to get into office by the sheer force of their shadiness, I think it should be me... (**One of the major pros to this idea is the implied opportunity to use this guy a lot: )
  7. Hmmm...as shady as politics are, they are a lot of fun. Perhaps you could suspend moderator status, and hold elections? In certain areas of course. I mean couldn't you see us all vying for the title of "Crap Shack Moderator?" I mean, use your power in a humorous way w/o abusing it. By the way, this was inspired by the whole "Member Status" thread over at Preacher's. Posting a lot is a good red-blooded American way to get to the top, but a few elections, the appointing of people to high positions based on very little merit, it keeps things stirred up and funny. Like I said, it should only apply to certain areas. Things like Politics and the Academy should be left alone. I do think the people here have diverse enough interest to keep the rest of the board alive, even when a little drama ensues...
  8. I've recently realized that there is a huge difference between knowing someone your entire life and knowing someone your entire existence These people who fall into the latter category are part of your makeup, part of what defines you. You may have met them when you were 6, and you may meet them when your 60, but they're important. And what's more important is remembering that nothing you can do can make them go away. There is an inexplicable link...so it's best to try and get along.
  9. Perosnally, I'm a big fan of the idea of arranged....I mean scheduled debates. That could be very cool. Anyway, when I think of anything new I'll let you know. In the meantime Drinks on me in any and all bars
  10. "Sony Chiba? Why he's bar none the finest actor working in martial arts films today!" "So you wanna take me to a kung-fu movie?" "Three kung-fu movies..."
  11. I don't know guys, I love Pulp Fiction and True Romance has been my favorite movie since the first time I saw it (I realize he didn't direct, but he wrote it) but I just thought every aspect of Kill Bill rocked. Between the story, the set, the fight scenes, the anime, the sound, the sound track, and the shots!!! The cinematography in this movie was AMAZING! And all the elements of a Tarantino film are there, just like in Pulp Fiction only more fine tuned. He's just getting better. I think we can expect good things from Volume 2.
  12. It was in fact, truly awesome!!! I think it's the best work Tarantino has done. Period. The animated part kicked ass too.
  13. I hate people, wine and hangovers. I wanna have some soup and then go watch Kill Bill.
  14. I'm going to see it tonight actually, you guys have me really psyched now
  15. "It says I choo-choo-choo-chooose you. And there's a picture of a train..." "My cat's breath smells like cat food." "I like your toys. Mine are all sticky" Heh...gotta love Ralph Wiggum...
  16. Wasting away on another fucked up rollercoaster ride...the fun never stops
  17. A few more: The Beatles: "In My Life" The Cowboy Junkies: "Misguided Angel" Bob Dylan: "Abandoned Love" The Cowboy Junkies one is great "I said Mama, he's crazy and he scares me But I want him by my side He's wild and he's bad And sometimes just plain mad But I need him to keep me satisfied Said Papa don't cry Cause it's all right And I see you in some of his ways Though he might not give me The life that you wanted I'll love him the rest of my days Misguided angel hanging over me Heart like a Gabriel Pure and white as I can see Soul like a Lucifer Black coal like a piece of ash Misguided angel love you to death I said brother you speak to me of passion And you told me not to settle for nothing less Well it's in the way he walks It's in the way he talks His smile His anger And his kisses..."
  18. I'm a big fan of Ani myself Jax. You should check out "Out of Range" and her self-titled album as well. I think "Out of Range is pretty much her best. The only album I don't really dig is "Dialate." If you think "Not a Pretty Girl" is depressing...whew
  19. Alan Cumming. He has the same quirkiness that Wilder possessed in the original. Are they going to have whack musical numbers in this one too? Or is this one supposed to stick to the dark humor of Roald Dahl? That would be cool. Everytime they make a movie out of one of his books 1) IT'S NEVER BRITISH!!! The closest they came was The Witches, but they made the lead kid AMERICAN! and 2) Roald Dahl made some pretty disgusting characters, and the movies always make life a little too lighthearted. Never creepy enough. I wish they'd make a movie of The BFG...
  20. I'm Bethany, but for some reason my address bar and options menu has COMPLETELY disappeared. It only reappears when I click on a link. Can't figure out what happened, but either way, couldn't post the results.
  21. Everyday, I wake up and I say, "This is the day you're going to die." Sometimes, I'm so petrified, that I can't get out of bed. Other times I get up with the dawn, Because I don't want to spend my last day on Earth asleep. Stilll there are times when I open one eye, And look at the clock, And say, "Let's just get this over with already!" In any case, I always wake up.
