Eh...you remember all the rumors in years past of a James Cameron Spidey flick, with a CG Venom and Di Caprio as Parker? This license spent most of the 90's in limbo - word was out back when the character had a large audience, pre-clone wars. For the longest time, it seemed it wouldnt happen at all, because as that article explained, there was far too much litigation - Sony, Viacom (they did the cartoon), MGM etc all arguing over the movie rights, which Marvel Enterprise's interesting licensing procedures screwed, thankfully, the current management seems to have a much better head on their shoulders. Even so, no im honestly unsure of what this is about; if i was to guess...starting with X-Men, marvel's been licensing out some pretty heavy hitters (outside of Daredevil, im told), but they scarecely made a dime off X-Men, and they really needed it then - Ive read the idea was to give studios a good deal at first & continually ask for more & more as they movies rake it in, or something to that affect. I'm guessing they make a bigger cut off the merchandising too, as their in-house shit studio Toy Biz does the figures (fuck you, Avi Arad). Then, Stan "The Whore" Lee, a few months back, announced he intended to sue the house of ideas to get some of that Spider-Man chedda (funny, co-creator Steve Ditko hasnt been heard from). Lee already receives royalties of over 1 million a year from the company, regardless of how close theyve come to bankrupcy, but saw the sales figures on Spidey & its merchandise and got an idea, i guess. Maybe this has something to do with that?

Alright....took like 10 minutes to think of a good place to host shit (cause im slow), then about an hour to review everyone i could find on the member list with even a chance of posting again, get your avatars up somewhere else more stable & put em on you...even managed to keep some of your sigs free of x's. Amen to that..christ i have to find a way to muster up ten bucks for my local Wal-Mart just to get my hands on the great pre-pay freebie... ??? Reviews are nothing but solid, this one and Xenosaga are my most awaited this year by far... (runners up: Metal Gear Solid: Substance for PS2 and Silent Hill 3, but not nearly as much hype for me).

He does, but not in Street Fighter type games...you can beat him in Marvel vs Capcom just using Cable and one button, using his "bust a cap in that ass" attack....

Lotsa people feel that way, odd....seriously, i dont think Marvel's ever done as good as they are lately, top notch writing & art on their Ultimate books, even many of hte non-ultiamtes are strong these days....Hulk, Daredevil, Amazing Spider-Man, Punisher....the list goes on, i wish more people woud come back to the fold & see it... As for Image, theyre widely expanding these days, but I only read a few of there books lately (Powers, etc), what do you currently read of theirs? Maybe im missin out...i know fellow board member Cap'n P swears by the new Gen Thirteen but its just not my thing... ps have you check out this current Batman book with Jim Lee doing the art, Loeb at the helm? Its surprisingly good, non Bats fans who know less than nothing about the character are enjoying it...
