  1. Thank you TopDawg, you made my weekend. :link:
  2. Drinky Bill, who drank until the front of his brain died and wears grey 1978 slacks with shitstains on the arse, is standing in the middle of the pub with an Iceland Frozen Foods carrier bag. It reads: "We've banned all artificial colours and flavours." The draught lager in his other hand glints a funny yellow in the weak sunlight. There's a move in the US to make it so goods labelled organic don't actually have to be organic. A factory- farm chicken company is reportedly behind it. Rebellion is only part of the system because it's allowed to be. The sk8er boy rocks up MTV only because his video is deemed straight and disinfected enough for the masses; he's allowed a career and is programmed to fall in love because it gives him something to lose. Instructions on how to grow up in a SafePersona and know your station in life. Big geezer with cuts all over his face and scabby knuckles nods demurely and looks at his feet as the cops talk to him outside on the junction. This is how FightPersona works; giving it some and keeping people on his patch scared until Blue Daddy tells him enough. People move around the junction in prescribed paths -- the alleys no-one takes, the shops no-one stops at, the people no-one pause for. Lagrange supertracks, trails of low gravity, the tides they travel. A shitfaced man in a bad baseball cap lays half in, half out of the road, deep in his own gravity well, everything skipping past his sphere of influence. The cogs of the world go crunch. - Warren Ellis, Bad Signal
  3. Ill let Silent Bob handle the Sting (McQueen, right?), Hard Boiled..man youd dig it. Classic John Woo, Chow Yun Fat two gun shit. Most people go for The Killer, which is also good, but i prefer Hard Boiled or A Better Tomorrow...all 3 of those were some of action's finest moments while here in the states we were churning out Van Dame, Segal or Lundgren shit. Swear to god if it wasnt for Die Hard id say we put up little fight during the late 80's/early 90's to counter Woo's greatness...anyway check those out if youre ever given the opportunity Bucket.
  4. @#$% i need to see Spirited Away... Butch & Sundance...good one.
  5. Holy crap, Tangent Man got told...Shut yo mouth! (Im just talkin bout Silent Bob) ..and i can dig it. That's rough, but yeah im glad it was pre-emptive, im not sure what happens to a thread if it gets 2 all out Tangent Alarms. Im gonna check ComicBookResources.com for info on the DVD, here's to hopin for that uncut version.
  6. My toilet; its been running non-stop for 2 weeks now...and i just cant catch it! hahaha laughter through the tears :emotions:
  7. ...to much Tim Burton...hah, he'll have some good ones there tho. I bet Amelie makes it somewhere in his, Shawshank Redemption toppin the charts. (random for now) Braveheart The Matrix Fight Club The Good, The Bad & The Ugly The Searchers Raging Bull Waking Life Yojimbo Seven Samurai Cool Hand Luke High Noon Unforgiven Carlito's Way Taxi Driver Mr Smith goes to Washington (tentative, but i dig Jimmy) American Beauty Brazil Ok i need to give this more thought, im streatching it...its our favorite movies right? I mean, there's a few up there that i love but Im not gonna argue cinmatic value with Junker over Citizen Kane or anythin... Runners-up i have to choose from so far: Easy Rider The Graudate Hard Boiled Pulp Fiction Michael Collins Scent of a Woman Devil's Advocate (eh, i went to religous schools) Samurai X (do anime films count?) Breaker Morant The Professional Trainspotting MLB's Arnoufsky ones of Pi & Requiem, etc... ps more people should see the Big Lebowski, i wanna see that one again. Off of MLB's list i have yet to see Bufallo 66, Donnie Darko and finish Blade Runner. I dont remember Fargo either so i should see it again.
  8. Hah, MLB has fine tastes. Nah cant find the old gangster flick poll for some reason..i do wanna bring back that "evolution of film genre" bit tho, think there was more to be said there.
  9. You know, as somethin of a history student, i feel dirty purchasing products called "Imperial Sugar".
  10. Quick note: here's 2 gangster film threads in this forum that im thinkin of mergin with this one if its appropriate... This one's from the old board, died young and This one on the evolution of film genres, i wish it'd come back...swear to god, i had a gantster flick poll like this up, cant find it.. Anyway, some really good ones up there, hard to argue with em..Im surprised Casino & Bronx Tale arent up here.. Ok, Godfather II, Goodfellas (good quote there), Scarface, Untouchables etc are greats, nice one including the Tarentino ones too. Didnt see Get Carter, not sure which version of Bonnie & Clyde is up there, but... as ive commented in other places, im a big fan of Carlito's Way. It's a western in the gangster setting. Carlito's character & troubled story couldve been a john ford production or a kurosawa, i just loved it, cant get tired of watching it. Some lines i really took to... "Never sell out your friends." *throws shit around apartment* "Whaddya want me to do, ah? This is who I am, better or worse!" "G'nite, counselor..." Its all in Pacino's delivery. Some critiqued his latin accent here but I just really took to the tale.
  11. Yahven's liftin prison weights now, atta boy! Of course, having seen his taste in porn, im aware that he's only doin it so he can be that guy who curls the lower end of one chick up to his face while poundin another, but eh, ya gotta have goals.
  12. You may kick att with that game, but you quit before we can buy Thanos or War Machine! :plain:
  13. Hah..i can wander around Fort Worth, and unlike Miami, i dont run into people i know. Some days thats cool, others not so much. On the not so much days, i dig that i can log on back into DD and almost always have a PM waitin on me...even if it is bitching. : )
  14. 3/7: songs 's neighbors wish he'd stop fucking playing: 1) LL Cool J - Love you better (even the instrumental) 2) R. Kelly & Nevea - Laundromat 3) Jay-Z - Excuse me miss 4) Yoko Kanno - Dijurido (cowboy bebop) 5) Miles Davis - Autumn Leaves
  15. Yeah, yeah it is...i thought "truth is, i cant lie to you...the pimp in me, may have to die with you..." was pretty strong too...
  16. Speaking of history... I'm adding new events to the calendar besides our birthdays, such as important movie release dates, cultural holidays, things only i care about, etc. Im even designating days to holidays that dont have them, such as steak & blowjob day, for the sake of some of our members. Remember that as one of your admins, my decisions in this sort of thing are infallible, uhm most of the time. I dont have a "day" for festivus yet but im workin on it...anyway if there's a cultural event or anythin in particular youd like added, put it here or PM me and ill be happy to add it (no bullshit ones like "my wang was itchy today" please). Im debating religous ones like passover, lent, ramadan, and that indian one of the darkest night. Not sure if i should cause i dont wanna open some pandora's box of "well then you have to include this & this one too" or whatever, so its mostly secular ones so far. Lemme know what you guys think, i wouldnt mind puttin some of those on there. ps yahven can you figure out when you launched DD so i can add that too?
  17. Poetry that doesnt rhyme sucks cock. It shows a monumental lack of effort. Disregarding meter, rhyme scheme, pacing etc doesnt make you a tortured artist, it makes you a lazy one, and no i dont wanna read your shit.
  18. ooooh....lookit mr spiffywhore from a distance...you mustve repressed the memories of cable's "bust a cap in that ass" 3 hit combo that keep you at a distance...or Wolvy's "button mashing berserker barrage"... Fear not buddy, ill mosey on out that way sometime this year and remind you....
  19. Haha...damn i wish i was there for that one. That's a trip... Id like to comment on some Halo aspects: Mr spiffy, when driving, likes to take us over cliffs, into enemy fire, etc. If he gets hold of a mounted laser, watch out, cause he makes lil distinction between friend and foe. However, unlike Yahvne, if you die Spiffy will go back and get your ressurected. Yahven watches you die, straps on a red bandana, gives you the bird and takes on the world without your ass. I suspect he's sad when he gets far enough and the game brings you back automatically. ??? Also, spiffy puts up with my bad habits of "friendly fire" so he makes a good partner in this one. Now that im over a thousand miles away from the mammoth system i can safely admit this game is cool.
  20. eww...spiffy wants bones. Sorry buddy ill back your other reviews but i thought this one reeked of ass. Predictable plot, hokey ending, only a lesbian make-out scene made it almost worth the five bucks i spent to see it. But im flyin solo here, most people i talk to seemed to dig it.
  21. Haha...Spiffy dont dig mooches.... "My name is George. Im thirty something years old, bald, unemployed and i live with my parents." "..I'm stephanie, hi!"
  22. Chief - one more for your list when youre on kazaa: LL Cool J - Love you better damn smoov...i wanna do a freestyle to that beat.
  23. "so, i think we should just deport the Saudis; you know? Till this whole 'terrorism' thing blows over." Girl, you besta be happy im not truly egalitarian about the sexes or id slap you right there.
  24. Anxiety: The sudden feeling when one rushes in to a bathroom and notices, after whipping it out, there's no urinals on the walls... :D :D "sorry ladies...hey, ya'lls bathroom is messier than ours!"
