Thelogan
Shit has officially hit the fan. Yeah man. You also a little irritated that we have to wait two months while they do their silly "issue #0" things?
Panch
Yes... and no. Yes, cause I have to wait for the current stuff. No, cause I love stand-alone issues. I don't really mind when comics do this as long as they're giving me some kinda origin tale or something. Still, I hope its worth it. Panch
Not bad, but the entire DC Universe being birthed in just five years time is hard to buy. Makes things seem rushed. Take Buddy Baker's origin, for example... Whatever. Anyways, lets get on with ROTWORLD!
Thelogan
I thought the retcon of Buddy's origin was done relatively well. It made it slightly less ridiculous at least. Y'know...the whole red/green/rot thing could work really well as factions in a real-time strategy game...
Panch
I liked the way they described it as a "narrative".
Iambaytor
I really need to get around to reading this but I'm currently reading no DC books. Is the blonde with the shotgun Swamp Thing's Jennifer Kale?
Thelogan
That's Abigail Arcane, she just got a haircut and a motorcycle.
Iambaytor
God, I really need to go back and read the rest of the Alan Moore run, that was a Freshman-level question. She is totally his Jennifer Kale though, except with sexing. Though considering Man-Thing is now A) Fully cognitive, and B) Pretty much a god, I'm going to call this a plagiarism stalemate. Fucking ew. I was just saying to someone how most writers just don't get why Man-Thing stories were interesting. I will look for an appropriate thread. Iambaytor
Honestly it's working better than it has any right to, but mostly juts because there's a good writer doing it, this also smells like it will last roughly as long as Frank Castle's death did. Thelogan
I just remembered that this existed.
Keth
Radical All they need is an Animal Man cartoon with reworked lyrics to this song
Keth
Rotworld is fucking awesome. Basically just DC Zombies. I really hope the end isn't an insane disappointment. I know that everything has to "go back to normal" somehow, but I just hope the way they do it isn't too terrible. I don't know how they will wrap this up. Thrizzle
Keep in mind they're in the future, in terms of the rest of the universe. You can do all kinds of wacky shit with alternate timelines. And Swamp Thing just got real fucking wacky at the end of that last issue. Swamp Thing using Bane's Venom injection system to pump himself full of Bio-restorative serum and leading a giant bat-bot into battle, aided by a half-bat Barbara Gordon. That's fucking wacky any way you cut it. It's fun though.
Keth
Issue 17!! Fucking intense on both fronts but highlights for me were in Animal Man Steel being a badass and Frankenstein becoming a Green Lantern were two of the coolest things that have happened so far. And this fucking guy Best character introduced yet.
Thrizzle
I need an Animal Man shirt that says "Butter Baker: The Blondie Man". Animal Man has been quite a bit better than Swamp Thing for me. Jeff Lemire is just a badass. He isn't trying to imitate Morrison's run (if anything, he's aping the tone of old Swamp Thing, which is kinda funny), he's found his own groove and he's awesome at it. Swamp Thing is readable and all, but it sure would be cooler if Lemire was just on both books. Edited February 10, 2013 by Thrizzle
Keth
Yeah I haven't looked forward to reading Swampy as much. I read the first issue of Sweet Tooth awhile back and have been meaning to read more, is it worth it?
Thrizzle
I'm behind on Sweet Tooth, but yeah, it's good. I think the first 20ish or so are on my Comixology.

Keth
Well that ended just about how I thought it would. A little time travel and bada bing, everything's good. I'm wondering who the other Green Avatar they were talking about at the end of Swamp thing was. Poison Ivy?
Thrizzle
everything's good. Now there's a man who truly hates a flowing mullet.
Keth
Bah If Maxine can resurrect Rotlings I'm sure she can resurrect her brother somehow.
Thrizzle
Also, I was thinking Black Orchid more than Poison Ivy. But I only know about her Neil Gaiman origin. The new 52 version may be lamer.

Thrizzle
Seriously. That fuckin' mother-in-law finally got her claws in her. If only The Governor would show up and put some buckshot in her kidneys, that's a crossover I could get behind.
