Reverend Jax
So for those of you who were not aware, senior (and arguably the best) Daily Show correspondent, Stephen Colbert has left The Daily Show. Not to make movies like Steve Carrell, but for his own show airing right after the Daily Show. This is probably the closest thing to having an hour long Daily Show without actually having an hour long Daily Show. The Report (with a silent 't') takes it's model after pundit shows instead of a news show (like The Daily Show does). Colbert is therefore arrogant condescending and obnoxius. Bill Reilly came on The Daily Show the week of the Colbert Report's premiere and bashed Colbert for being French saying Colbert was under the tent of his boycott of the French (still going on), even though he's only of French descent. The Report is no TDS, but neither was TDS when it started. Give the Colbert Report time and it could be just as good. In the meantime, it's still pretty freakin awesome. Signal08
The Colbert Report... rocks. I mean, he is fricken mr goodwrench spokesperson. Deej knows how much I heart the guy, in fact, I stalk him. Daily show is great shit to watch, and Colbert being the one of the most entertaining members of TDS... the other being...daily... him getting his own show is just fantastic. prepair to be... mesmerized. Jont
I believe the government that governs best is the government that governs least. And by these standards, we have set up a fabulous government in Iraq. I can't wait until someone puts together a split screen video, one side with Colbert, the other with Bush's reaction. Until then we have to do with this. http://www.dailymotion.com/sensemilia/video/143459
Reverend Jax
I am going to have to retract my previous statement that The Report is not as good as the Daily Show. A few weeks of finding it's voice,a nd the Colbert Report has proven itself an even match, sometimes a better show. Bravo Steven.

The NZA
Wall Street Journal Stephen Colbert has suspended production of his satirical comedy show temporarily because of an emergency in Mr. Colbert’s family, according to people familiar with the show. The show is expected to resume production soon, perhaps as early as next week, the people added. Comedy Central, the Viacom Inc. network that airs the show, had stoked speculation about the fate of “The Colbert Report” when it issued a cryptic statement cancelling the tapings of the show scheduled for the remainder of this week. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the show will air repeat episodes on Wednesday, February 15 and Thursday, February 16,” network spokesman Steve Albani said in an emailed statement. unfortunate timing with the super PAC's going, but his 91 year old mother isn't well, and i wasn't aware how he'd lost the rest of his family.
