  1. Happy Anniversary!

    Happy Anniversary!

    Tooooooooooooooo

    YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

  2. You should take the opportunity to see it, I doubt you will be disappointed.
  3. How Stormtroopers spend their summers.
  4. Happy birthday! People that have their birthday on July 25th rule!

  5. Yep, they did not even make her Barbara Gordon, so yes that movie was failure even in character names.
  6. Thank you so much MetalHeart! You are the best!

  7. Trust me DOJ, this movie is far from typical
  8. the most head scratching storylines from all the Batman movies. The chick Batman either takes to his lair or discovers his true identity. Batman (1989): Vickie Vale - taken two Bat Cave and later finds out true indenity Batman Returns: Catwoman (Selina Kyle) - Finds out his true identity Batman Forever: Dr. Chase Meridian - Finds out his true identity Batman and Robin: Batgirl (Barbara Wilson) - Finds out his true identity and becomes Batgirl? The less said about this one the better. Batman Begins: Rachel Dawes - taken to Bat Cave and later finds out his true identity.
  9. Mega Man 2, that takes me back! Good times! Still one the best video games I have ever played, regardless of console. Keiji Inafune created a truly classic game. Thanks Iceman and Bish for sharing those nuggets of goodness!
  10. Thanks for the info Doj, I started to get very excited about this album!
  11. A third Unforgiven huh? I like the previous versions: The original orchestral version, even the second one with a little nashville touch is very good. I am very curious to here where they would take a third version.
  12. In an alternate universe, the Tick live action show became a hit, and Bat Manuel was spun off into his own feature length movie. And if the movie was about the origins of the Bat Manuel that movie might be called... BATMANUEL COMIENZA
  13. Yes SiBob spoiler tag away! Feel free! For your viewing Pleasure The mayor of Gotham City. "Now they are going to come after you." Could the Joker have messed him up worse than this? The Tick an excellent show canceled before it ever had a chance!
  14. Your are so right Fluff, I was crazy for the 1989 Tim Burton movie, the first one blew my mind. Anton Furst's Gothic architecture still some of the best I have ever seen on film. It was so cool to see a dark Batman, it was cool to see a kick-ass batmobile. Jack's joker was great. I also felt that while the first Schumacher was fun. The second was an abomination so bad, that it almost killed the franchise altogether, luckily it only had rebooted by Nolan instead of killed. After I saw the Burton movies, I began to devour more and more Batman books. I realized neither Burton nor Schumacher had ever read the books, what he created was a beautiful gothic fantasy movie. And Schumacher sent the Caped Crusader to broadway! They are wonderfully done, I still love Elfman's theme the Burton films. But not at all like the Batman of say Year One. I am so glad to see movies done by filmmakers who read and know what the characters are about. Ledger's joker is the Joker from "Killing Joke" and "Arkham Asylum", a truly deranged psychotic killer capable of anything, with no morals or compassion.
  15. This is turning out to be quite a day for Watchmen fans, if you subscribe to Entertainment Weekly, this is the issue you will be receiving...
  16. The "Tales of the Black Freighter" is supposed to be made into a separate animated movie to coincide with the release of the "Watchmen" movie. Also the current cut of the movie is said to be about 3 plus hours long. The rumor is that he will cut the film down for theaters, and then release a massive director's cut with "The Black Freighter" included with the DVD. I wonder if any Hollis Mason's "Under the Hood" will be included in any form of the film or DVD. I must admit I had my doubts about the changes to Silk Spectre and Nite Owl's costumes, but I must admit they look pretty awesome, and you can still tell their influenced from the book. Ozymadias costume has nipples! That is such a great commentary on the Schumacher Batman films. Oh, and check out the offficial website www.watchmenmovie.com
  17. The costumes look awesome! This trailer shows alot of Dr. Manhattan! He looks damn near perfect! The Comedian and Manhattan in vietnam, The owl ship, rorshach's mask moving, Manhattan's clock work palace, there is a lot I am liking here. Yeah, it does have that slow everything down then speed it up action that is Snyder trademark, still this trailer gives me lots of hope.
  18. If I looked serious after the premiere, it was because I was speechless. I was trying to process what I just saw. I felt like I had been punched in the gut and thrown off a buidling! The 3 greatest comic book movies are The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2, and Iron Man. These are richly written comic book characters. To me Batman is also the king of the Graphic Novel. He is one of the only characters that can be treated with such maturity. When you see The Dark Knight, you can see that the filmmakers have read: The Dark Knight Returns, The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, Year One, The Killing Joke and Hush just to name a few of the books. The Dark Knight movie is Graphic Novel come to life, which why it transcends the superhero genre, it is a flat out great chracacter driven crime drama.
  19. I thought that was pretty spoiler free. I would hate to spoil any of the fun for my friends. Thank you for the compliment Aarty !
  20. I have just witnessed THE DARK KNIGHT! Must give mad props to Aarty for an epic hookup! I am not able to process all the excellence I viewed tonight. I will just give a few observations and opinions. The movie's scale is epic and sweeping. The film puts the pieces in place and as the Joker says "HERE WE GO!" Heath Ledger's Joker is a revelation! You are riveted everytime his sadistic character is on screen. You truly feel like he is capable of anything. But I do not want to sell any of the other actor's short. Christian Bale continues to be the best Batman and Bruce Wayne, this character has ever known. They all give fine performances. Eckhart's Harvey Dent gives the multi-dimensionality and complexity that he deserves. Maggie Gylennhal, in my humble opinion, is vast improvement over Katy Holmes, she gives her an emotional depth and maturity. Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and even Eric Roberts? are excellent. For all the people that griped about Nolan not knowing how to direct action, he has blown that opinion to smithereens! This Batman is a lean mean fighting machine. This movie lives up to the hype! This movie keeps raising the ante is ways you wouldn't imagine. The third act of this movie, is a white-knuckle pulse-pounding thrill ride! We are truly living in the Golden Age Comic Book Movies. Nolan gives The Dark Knight such gravity and weight. He treats these characters with a reverence and respect I truly wish all filmmakers would. The comparisons to other great films like Empire Strikes Back, Heat and The Untouchables is valid. I believe I have seen the best Comic Book movie yet. Could I be biased as life long Batman fanatic? sure. But there no debating the quality and skill that was on display. I am truly grateful that my favorite character is in these talented filmmaker's hands. My fellow Hondonians, please organize your viewing parties as fast you can. if you want to see a great film, not just a great comic book movie, Go see The Dark Knight.
  21. I agree that Hellboy chose wisely, being fellow member of the GOP, I always put people before nature. I was referring to the internal conflict that showed in Hellboy. Which is the great thing about that character, inner struggle. . And true the is not at all a new concept. And true the giant monster archetype is not new. But when you take all these elements and CGI animation, and a gifted filmmaker like GDT, I felt like it was presented in a new fresh way. I like Prince Monoke I think it is a beautiful movie, a little to talky but excellent. I can honestly say that I did not feel that any of that scene from Hellboy reminded me of that movie when I first saw it. Now that you mention it, are there similarities? absolutely. Do I feel like they are stolen concepts? not at all. Yes, Del Toro was animated better because of the budget as his disposal. Prince Monoke is an awe-inspriring film. I was lucky to see it on the big screen. I just feel that Del Toro's scene packs more of impact to me personally. It could be that I saw Princess Monoke long time ago, and my sensibilities have changed? sure. that could be why I found Hellboy's scene to be more effective.
  22. I think it looks interesting, it just does not look like the Spirit I know. Except for the tie of course. I understand that he wants to update it. Eisner's books had lots of style, but not hyper-sensationalized style! The jury is still out on this one.
  23. I am usually not a fan of mixing two genres, but I will make an exception in this case. I think if The Tumbler was like this one, Batman would have a little easier job cleaning up Gotham City! AUTOBATS! ROLL OUT!
  24. The concept is similar in as far a . What I meant in saying it was original was that, as you watched the aftermath, you were . Usually in big action set-pieces like that there is a clear reason and cause for . Here it was cloudy. And for the record Prince Mononoke did not even come close to conveying the sense of awe, that Guillermo del Terro achieved in that scene. You can take that to those weird little forest ghosts who shake their head like maracas!
