  1. Well done KoS, you managed to sound exactly like a salesman :p I'll check it out. Next year I'm living in a house with six others so I'll see if they're keen on spliting the cost, might convince them.
  2. Please tell me that is computer enhanced!
  3. Some of us don't have that opportunity though Chief, I know no good guitarists that live vaguely near me. Could you answer my question on letter-5 chords I askd a few posts ago?
  4. I was a fan in their early careers but like most people lost interest around the time of 'Be Here Now'. Blur have more staying power coz they seem to evolve but Oasis just seem to churn out the same stuff which was okay all those years ago but is getting a bit boring now. Not impressed by the new single and I think I'll give the new album a miss. Much more exciting bands I could be spending my money on.
  5. I'll ask 'em, somebodies gotta give them a swift slap in the face. Bit jealous about the video, gonna have to wait till its on the site because videos never get shown on terrestrial tv. Thats what Channel 4 needs, a hald hour of cool new music videos, I'm writing to 'em. They gotta sort themselves out.
  6. Sango, Thats how I started just two months ago, with an old acoustic and no idea what to do next. Can't remember the site I used but just got some of the major chords A,B,C, etc, and mucked about with them. Next step I did was just find guitar tabs and learn songs, its not hard really, they tell you where to put your fingers, you just gotta work out the strum pattern. I would recommend, www.Mxtabs.net for guitar tabs, they got a huge selection. Then just practice. Good luck.
  7. Because its nobodies fault, nobodies fault but my own.... I'm off to stick that album on now, hooray!
  8. Want me to get your cane DA Judge? :wary:
  9. Far too much politics in award ceremonies these days. Personally ABM made me want to spew but I can also see why people liked it, and why people liked Titanic, and why people liked Pearl Harbour and all those other great (shit!) movies. I hate this whole thing of Oscar Season too. The only films that seem to get nominated are recent films, what about great film made less recently, Ghost World, Battle Royal, those don't get a look in, because, a) They weren't popular enough b) They were released at the wrong time of the year You may say that, because they weren't popular enough then they shouldn't win an oscar but it is Hollywood that often dictates what becomes popular by saying what will and will not be released in big cinemas. Prime example is Warner Village who only showed 'Crouching Tiger...' when it was nominated for loads of oscars and is not even showing 'The Royal Tenebaums' despite its cast. The movie industry is bullshit, I hate it, I hate it. Sorry, bit early and I need coffee.
  10. DA Judge, personally I think Midnite Vultures is okay (better live!) but I do think Mutations is Beck's most underrated album. It was released as a sort of "album to amuse you while you wait for the proper album to come along" type album, but the songs are amazing. Lazy Flies, and Cold Brains are brilliant. Lazy flies all hovering above, the magistrate puts on his gloves and looks to the clouds, all pink and dishevelled. They must be some blueprint, some creed of the devil inscribed in our minds.... (Quite impressed with myself, haven't listened to it in a while and I can still remember the words) :monkey:
  11. Thats a pretty sweet list Eeyore, very different. Don't really know much Bjork but liked her 'Dancer in the Dark' stuff. Could you recommend some specific stuff of hers and I might happen to take a trip to Audiogalaxy with a shopping list.
  12. TO-NY TO-NY TO-NY. Nice one KoS, be darned if I got it that cheaply. Since I have all the studio albums inc. Complete B-Sides, is it worth me getting 'Death to the Pixies', 'Pixies at the BBC', etc?
  13. Just bought myself my first electric. Its a Aria Pro 2 Fullerton, the sound ain't great but it isn't too bad either, especially considering the price of £120 (inc amp). I have a question that hasn't arisen before for me but has come to head now. I've been looking at guitar chords in sons and found chords like C5, D5, etc. However, looking in an old chord book my dad has, I could not find any of these letter-5 chords. Is there an equivalent which I might find in the chord book, and why does it not have it. Any ideas?
  14. Like some of your selections Junkerseed, but what is up with MudVayne man, you serious? :p
  15. I thought the oscars were really disappointing this year. 'Beautiful Mind' was not a great film. Want to see a "hard being a genius film", rent Pi. The only award I was glad about was Denzel Washington's award for Training Day. That is one ass-kicking movie. Junkerseed, IC, see that movie, much better than all the trailers, etc suggest. Not a big Denzel fan myself but decided to sit through that movie and felt all the better for it. As for David Lynch, I woulda been out that door butt-naked before you Junkerseed. Mulholland Drive, how fucking great was that movie? Overall I thought all the nominations were flat this year, only movie that sparked my interest that had a chance of winning was 'In the Bedroom', but no, Hollywood does love their Australian actor. What a sham!
  16. SHIMMYSHIMMYSHIMMYSHIMMY TO THE BREAK OF DAWN YEAH! Tell me what you think KOS, can't wait to see them at Ozzfest in May.
  17. They are a bit of a world apart. Rock on DA Judge, rock on.

  19. Nice list. Don't agree with the order of the Beck albums but hey, its your list. Nice ones with Air and Moby, those albums rock.
  20. I'm, Gorky's Zygotic Glove Puppet. Feel like I've been jipped man, ah well.
  21. AAAAAAACCCCCKKKK KoS, my man, get that album, it is definitely the best.
  22. They're not there but I also rate 'Bone Machine' and 'Levitate Me' from by far the Pixies best album "Surfer Rosa (and Come on Pilgrim)". Ohhhh controversial.
