  1. Do it Jack! That is the poll on 'Loser', I would do it but it will take me ages to answer the poll nevermind (pardon the pun MLB) create it! In the meantime... "spray your face with some mace in the dark"
  2. I certainly am KOS! It's shaping up to be one of T in The Park's best line ups ever! :approve:
  3. Grace Slick gets my vote, i feel guilty about changing my mind, voting for Courtney Love instead of her on the other thread!
  4. My apologies, i was about to vote for Grace when seen Coutrney Love's name there! Sorry i'm gonna change my vote!
  5. From the poll provided i'm gonna vote for Grace Slick! She was both sexy and wild in her day. Don't know much about Pink, but she got potential, just seen her for the first time on some TV programme last week...would you, would you? Frankly yes! and no Courtney Love?
  6. What the fuck does it matter if they are a one hit wonder or not? You have to remember that some music matures with time, the question being asked is 'No 80's music collection is complete without...' My personal opinion is that both Devo and Rush are shite, with Rush being more shiter! Back to the question... I can't be arsed doing another list at the moment after all, but my top choice anyway would be The Stone Roses debut album of the same name (1989), essential!
  7. I agree MPB! I've for the first time just read Heartless's topic starter, although i know what's she's saying, i have to ask, is there no listening posts where you come from? If i hear one track i like from a band/musician that i am unfamiliar with i'll go listen to the album in-store or snippets on the net, if it's not my thing, i'll just buy the single that i liked in the first place, simple! After all it's the song that you like and not a bands musical history or heritage (although i realise in some instances that's not the case). Best 'one hit wonder' of last year: Mirwais - 'Naive Song'
  8. Wow! That is some list my friend! That's exactly the reason i opted only to do an album list! Fuck, how long did that take you to do? Phew! If i had to pick my favourite from your list i'd probably go with... ...gimme a sec... Beck's 'Loser' Good list all round though! :approve:
  9. Never really liked Queen to be honest! But if i had to vote, i suppose it would be 'It's A Kind Of Magic' as i bought it on 7" as a kid when Highlander came out.
  10. PS- Good calls on Inspector Gadget & Fraggle Rock btw!
  11. LOL, good idea for a poll, but why leave out Thundercats? Justify yourself! ;) When i first read the topic headline, i assumed it was gonna be all of TV, and was ready to attack if the M*A*S*H 'Suicide Is Painless' theme tune wasn't there! And no Ullysees? Bah! Hmmm, let me think about this one before voting, although i'm tempted to vote for Knightrider at the moment!
  12. It took me ages to compile a list for the other music threads, sorry still working at it! In the meantime you were talking about INXS... Q) What's the difference between Manchester United And INXS? A) Manchester United can still play Giggs!
  13. Wha? You just had The Miami Winter Music Conference you lucky swine Btw SOF, Witnness looks to be shaping up nicely too :approve: Oh & MLB! I grew up beside a beach in Edinburgh for 19 years, still not sure what one is meant to be though ??? Now to get the dictionary and look up 'sun'!
  14. Good call on The Wicker man KOS, although i was more a fan of Willow McGregor's song, ken what i mean? ;) Do you know there is not one but two remakes of that film in the pipeline? I read it about about two weeks ago, something about two studios having rights to it and neither backing down!?! ??? On another note, a guy i knew from long ago tried to tell me Simon & Garfunkel were overated!?! EH? if anything, they are very underated!!! i asked him, "What about Richard Cory or Most Peculiar Man? or I Am A Rock", "What" was his reply. I'd recommend the album 'Sounds Of Silence' too, which i think is there best musically and lyrically. One of there best songs for me is 'The Boxer' (On Brige Over Troubled Water) with the lines... "Asking only workman's wages I come looking for a job But I get no offers Just a come-on from the whores on Seventh Avenue I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome I took some comfort there" Overated?!? I think fuckin' not, if ever meet that dude again, i'll say "LLLLIIIISTTTTENNNNNNNNN PROPERLY TO THE LYRICS NEXT TIME YA TIT"... ...damn, i really need to get laid! Oh and IC! Good shout about Braveheart and Trainspotting soundtracks! But the i would say that being Scottish ;) Anyway, i off to listen to some S&G Hello darkness my old friend..
  15. I've got my bag full of funky French filtered disco ready and wating! :approve:

    He-Man

Well Athena i did realise it was a new series of He-Man, just that i got a little nostalgic. I'm not saying any new toon will be any worse than an original (until i watch it), it's just that when you grow up with something like that, that you have good memories of and then it gets updated and changed, well, i can't help feel a little dissapointed! The best He-man action figure i had was Meck-A-Kneck ( i think he was called? )
  17. I can't believe i forgot to mention the Easy Rider soundtrack, that album rocks! :approve:
  18. Very good call JMT's! I clean forgot about Mr.Zappa. Has Ry Cooder been given a mention yet too? Who Are The Brain Police?
  19. Hey the majority of this forum is from Miami, yes? I found this when i was clearing up my mail box, where it was sent from Astralwerks, I've not heard any of you mention it, did anyone go? If not i have to say i'm dissapointed! ??? WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE A gorgeous Miami afternoon. Thousands of sun-soaked fans taking over Nikki Beach Club. An open invitation to anyone and everyone. Can you imagine a more perfect setting for a party? Neither could we, so we did it twice! That's the way it happened at the Astralwerks SPF 2002 party and the Naked On The Beach party at Winter Music Conference. Over 15,000 fans were treated to the sonic delights of Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Cassius, Jacques Lu Cont and Richard Scanty on Saturday and the sexy sounds of Lazy Dog, Miguel Migs, Lisa Shaw, DJ Dixon, Gabriel Rene, Mauricio Aviles, Rene Arsenault, and Metro Area at the Naked Music party on Monday. Thanks and congratulations to all the artists and also our inimitable partners at NakedMusic for delivering such inspirational and diverse music for both events. Dimitri From Paris offered up some grooves of his own, DJ'ing the Respect Is Burning party at the gorgeous Opium Garden. Dimitri proved his title as the "Prince of Deluxe Funk" is well earned, bringing the crowd to a disco-funked frenzy with his set, taking several tunes from his recent release "After The Playboy Mansion."

    He-Man

LOL, that Ulysees tune! I still remember most of the words... Ulysees, Ulysees, Soaring through all the galaxies, In search of Earth, Flying into the night, Ulysee-ee-ee-ee-ees, No-one else can do the things you do! Ulysee-ee-ee-ee-ees... Shit! That's all i can remember! Sorry KOS, but i can't remember Centurions or Once Upon A Time:Life. MASK rings a bell although i was more a Visionaires watcher mesel'!

    He-Man

The original He-Man was the tops. About a year or two ago i seen an episode called 'The new Adventures of He-man' and hated it, i thought i was seeing things when i seen the updated Skeletor, total pish! The same thing was done with 'Watership Down', some things are better left alone! Funny thing was i was just thinking about The Transformers today and how a long time ago, i gave away all my figures to a charity shop (along with Star Wars stuff), Doh! The only other cartoons i'd like to see again that i can think of at the moment (originals from when i was a kid) would be 'Thundercats' and the absolutely brilliant 'Ulysees', what was the name of Ulysees's on board computer again? Oh and Tom & Jerry is still the bees kness! ( i heard a rumour that it's banned in Sweden or Denmark for being too violent!? )
  22. LOL! same here AV, although i was gonna suggest Shaving Private Ryan, which is more or less the same anyway, bah!
  23. LOL, same here! The world needs U2 like i need runny shite everyday! I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Nick Drake, any fans?
  24. Tonight Matthew, my defining song is gonna be 'Helter Skelter'... When i get to the bottom i go back to the top of the slide, Where i stop and i turn and i go for a ride, Till i get to the bottom and i see you again, Do you, don't you want me to love you, I'm coming down fast but i'm miles above you, Tell me tell me tell me come on tell me the answer, You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer Helter skelter, Helter skelter, helter skelter!
  25. it has to be said, there is better pics of Kylie (although that one i still pretty sweet as! ) anyway she still gets my vote! i think i've just soiled my trousers
