Usually I'm not such a fanboy that I care when they change the character a little (bring on the organic webshooters) but changing John Constantine into a character that can be played by Keanu-fuckin'-Reeves does not in my book amount to changing the character "a little". It amounts to the studio wanting another Matrix movie without having to hire the Wachowskis.

Hmm, the Wachowskis doing V for Vendetta. Could be interesting. I just hope they've recovered from the enormous bout of self-importance they suffered from during the Matrix trilogy. I like Purefoy in the main role, too. He had my vote to be the next Bond, but unfortunately no one's ever mentioned him for that... And I'm with Jont, let those guys have another shot at a Punisher movie. They did a lot of things wrong, but I think they did enough things right that they may be able to do a better job with a sequel. And I still think Jane makes a good Castle.

I swear to god, sometimes I think Eisner wants to make shitty sequels to Pixar movies just out of spite. Pixar has been making very generous offers to buy the rights for all their previous films back from Disney, but Eisner won't even bother listening to it. Pixar is looking at sweet offers from Warner Bros and Fox, while Disney is looking at a feature animation department that's practically non-existant. If their first cg film - Chicken Little - tanks this summer, like recent Disney features, they might as well just quit the animation business altogether. They can only milk the reputations of their good movies (Mulan II came out a couple weeks ago) for so long before people start wising up.

I'll check this one out soon enough just for Bendis, but I gotta say, I hope the interior art is better than the covers you've been showing. I'm not really impressed so far...

Yeah, it's funny, I picked up the "Marvel Encyclopedia" for Marvel Knights a while back and even the freakin' encyclopedia admitted that Ghostrider was a pretty crappy book with genuinely lousy characters and terrible writing.....but damn, he looks cool, doesn't he?

Agreed, but Daytripper does have a point. When an overplayed song is used in a movie it really destroys the intent. If Boulevard is played at the end, during the credits, then that's fine - I still don't think it fits in with Batman but it's fine. Then again, I don't think Prince fits in with Batman either...

Well as I said, if it was any other director I'd have my doubts, but if anybody can do a fun action movie that doesn't insult your intelligence, it's Spielberg. Granted, it has been a while since he's done such a movie. Over ten years, in fact, I'd say (since The Lost World did insult your intelligence) so I hope he still has it in him. And I pray to god he's finally gotten over his light flare fixation. I thought The Terminal was a great movie, but there were scenes where I couldn't even see Tom Hanks because Spielberg was letting so much damn light through the lens.

Yeah, this looks like the movie Spielberg was born to direct. There are rumors going around that this movie got greenlit with the biggest budget in the history of Hollywood (so far not as much as Titanic cost, but Titanic went over its greenlit budget). Spielberg says he's determined to make this, not just the biggest movie of 2005 (and even with the likes of Batman Begins and Goblet of Fire, I'd say he's a shoein) but the biggest movie of the decade. Hey from any other director I'd be skeptical...

Best guesses would probably be the Lizard, maybe with the inclusion of Harry becoming the Green Goblin (or maybe Hobgoblin?). I've heard a lot of people say it's going to be Venom, but I kinda doubt that. Venom seems like a little too big of a story to be told without being set up in the previous films. The Lizard was supposed to appear towards the end of Spidey 2 but they cut him out so that he wouldn't detract from Doc Ock. I wouldn't be shocked if they also added in the Black Cat to the third one. She also had a big part originally in Spidey 2 and a lot of her stuff is already written and designed.
