  1. hmmm... i have some pretty good playlists on my comp at home, so when i get home i'll contribute to this thread... i got some pretty good emo/screamo mixes that no one would care about, but i'd still like to mention anyways.
  2. yes it's raining today. thing is, the word raining doesn't even give justice. i prefer torrential downpour, yeah, that's more fitting. and i just fucking washed my car this week. great, just great. :plain:
  3. correction... i like it on spinach, don't blame def for my weird ways... maybe i should clarify... i don't care much for red meat i.e. steaks, or what not but i do enjoy a burger here and there, but hamburger is the only type of red meat i can really stand. i eat mostly poultry, and fish.

when leah and i went to europe, we ate at this a la carte thing and were grabbing hella ketchup and mayo, you know all the condiments. when we got everything paid for, we looked at the receipt and realized that we had to pay for all the ketchup that was on our tray. :plain: that was shitty. they prolly charged us for the ice too. i feel like a dumb american... oh well at least our ice and ketchup is free

  15. the point of reading a book over again is because you are always in different stages of your life, and when reading a book over again you may get something different out of it, that is if it is of literary merit. for example, i never knew how great the play hamlet was, but now after reading that, i realize that there is no way i could possibly grasp all of the things that are going on in there because it is so friggen complex. it's just overwhelming, how many things are going on in that play, but everytime you read it, you focus in on something else because of where you are in your life and what you've experienced. i'd have to disagree with that one. a young kid can not understand or even begin to grasp the ideas of vengence or the power that revenge has over someone. they can not understand the abstract ideas of depression, or how controlling it is for that matter. if you can't have an appreciation or general knowledge about human nature, there is no way you can comprehend such things as these. there are some things you can't teach people. you can't teach them what depression feels like. you can tell them, they may be able to catch the basic idea of it, but they will never know what it feels like until they experience it. you can tell a kid or anyone what love is, but they will never have an appreciation or true understanding of it until they experience it themselves. i mean look at the men who came back from world war I, no one knew what they experienced. no one back home had ever had an experience anywhere near that of what the men faced in war. i mean as much as they tell stories or recreate it, we can only imagine. the whole point of my rant is that when you experience things on your own, they carry more meaning.
  16. do you have a friend that would leave you alone in an apartment while she goes out with her boyfriend to get food for a good half an hour and tells you your gonna be fine even though your piss drunk and in a room filled with 10 or so guys that you just met? didn't think so... she could have at least waited till my guy friends came back from the store, but no, that would be too difficult. don't remember much after that... then i wake up to some guy trying to kiss me and feeling up my shirt, so my first impulse is to kick him... so i do... my friend eric saw what the dude was doing and kicks his ass out the apartment, and puts me to bed... eric put me to bed... not my 'best friend'... she laughs, finding it the funniest shit ever... i have no clue where all this came from... oh well that's the point of blargh
  17. its so funny when leah calls me asking "did you just call." she just loves hearing my voice. it's okay to just tell me the truth leah, seriously. i also love the great comments she made today at my house: - this hot sauce wouldn't be so hot if it wasn't so hot - mr. debruler would be cool if he wasn't such an ass - if buster (my dog) wasn't a dog, he'd be a cat yes... the lovely leah... but this collection couldn't be complete without my two cents today--- - if that guy wasn't so ugly, he'd be hot
  18. stupid broad cut my hair all fucked. that's the last time i go somewhere else when my hairstylist isn't in. blah... i'll just learn to wait until the week is over, instead of being so impulsive. :plain:
  19. burt reynolds- yeah he was a good guy alex trebek- who? burt reynolds- that robert blake... he was a good guy
  20. yes im on a bob dylan spree right now... how many roads must a man walk down before you call him a man... the answer my friend... is blowing in the wind the answer is blowing in the wind... hey mr. tambourine man play a song for me im not sleepy and there is no place im going to hey mr. tambourine man play a song for me in the jingle jangle morning i'll come following you... you used to laugh about, everybody and everything now you don't talk so loud now you don't seem so proud... how does it feel, how does it feel? to be without a home like a complete unknown like a rolling stone...
  21. a lot of it has to do with experience. what you get, or your stance on certain literary books are based upon what you have already experienced. an elementary school kid doesn't have much experience in life, generally. that is why everytime you read a book, you may get something different out of it because you are in a different stage in your life than you were when you read it last time. that is why i tend to love books so much is because no matter how many times you read it, you always get something new out of it.
  22. that was so random. you two have at least two different threads dedicated to trashing each others sexuality.
  23. maybe it's better to have kids read books like harry potter so that they develop an interest in reading before touching books like catcher in the rye or reading steinbeck. come to think of it, i rather have people read a piece of commercial fiction instead of touching the likes of hamlet and bastardizing it because they can't understand it. it's sad to think that they make 6th graders read macbeth and expect them to understand it or grasp some kind of meaning from the play. but yeah i'll just stop before i keep going and don't shut up.
