the fighter. cliche but entertaining and great performances all around, especially from bale. i think he'll get his first oscar nomination and win for this performance (finally!).

surprisingly political because of the censorship there. i don't remember it being pro-communism but i could be wrong because i wasn't as into the movie as eli. eli is very excited about juan of the dead.

oh my god, eli made me watch that with him! he has all these nostalgic feelings about it because it was one of his favorite movies as a kid. it's surprisingly political. it's on netflix.

they ordered 13 eps for next season, i believe. i'm sure it was a cost thing...they didn't know how well the show would do so they only ordered 6 the first season, just in case it bombed. they're probably kicking themselves now for not doing a full season.

yeah, it's actually better watching without knowing too much and also because the doc is about many things so it's a little hard to describe. it's utterly maddening, heartbreaking, and inspiring at the same time.
