  1. oh my god, the song I'm a one track lover was incredible, especially with the rap breakdown in the middle. class.
  2. i agree with amy regarding the politics thing but i've chalked it up to being less of a clique thing and more of a jax vs. arch battle to the death and we're all the casualties of that war of semantics. so i've stop posting there because it feels futile. i try to respond to people who directly address me or whenever there are topics that i feel i can assist in and i still love posting in movies, sociology, and blargh but that's about it. i think when i first started, i was a hell of a lot more interactive with other members and now i feel that i just throw stuff out there, much like a blog. i don't know why but it might be a time issue and also that i feel a little in limbo; not quite gone but not quite here either.
  3. goddamn it, nicholas!!! here!:
  4. ah, shit...i just realized the girl from ghost ship is the girl from the uninvited. i really liked that one.
  5. hell yes!! that show is the shit!!! i love abed!
  6. i thought it would be interesting too. so very wrong. nothing makes sense. when you think something is going to mean something later, it doesn't. it's one giant WTF? of a movie.
  7. nick, did you finally get into extras? it's awesome!
  8. i thought it would be much more depressing than it actually was (like requiem) so i've been waiting to be in the mood for it, which isn't very often. also, i just watched case 39. a cautionary tale for social workers with boundary issues.
  9. i think it was critically overhyped. for me, at least.
  10. i'm getting furniture on saturday!!! yay!!!!!!!!!
  11. after reading most of the article, i completely forgot that all of this started because the network didn't want to lose leno and that the affiliates didn't have any beef with the tonight show. i retract my news boycott.
  12. i was telling my mom this exact thing when all the hoopla was going on. our gen and younger just doesn't like leno/letterman for the most part and their audience is aging...conan's could only grow. i have a feeling this backlash can only magnify this. i think oprah said she polled her audience prior to interviewing leno and something like 98% of them had an unfavorable opinion of leno. it's not very scientific but still, that doesn't bode well for when he goes back to the tonight show. remember though, it was the affiliates who were pressuring nbc. i think nbc would have given conan more time had it not been for the affiliates. so boycott the news!!!
  13. yeah, probably. first dollhouse and now this. i'm not surprised though. conan's not mainstream enough for the leno audience. i was afraid that he would tone his shit down to be more time slot friendly and lose his fans but it ended up being that he didn't tone it down (too much) and the tonight show audience doesn't get it. i just hope conan can find a channel that will give him a show.
  14. i knew this shit was going to happen as soon as they announced that conan was going to take over the tonight show.
  15. shit, you beat me to it. i was just about to post this. that's impressive for $300.
  16. Likewise!! Actually, I was kinda bummed that we didn't get to watch Let the Right One In together when you guys were here. I would also like to add that one to my honorable mentions.
  17. OK, I'm finally ready: 1. Oldboy 2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 3. Wall-E 4. Kill Bill 1 & 2 5. No Country for Old Men 6. Pan's Labyrinth 7. Gone Baby Gone 8. Man on Wire 9.
