basically, it is set in a fantasy-like world with a goddess, Vishnu, who represents everything that is good and whole. There are floating blocks of earth (dragonballzesque,) uncharted territory, and magnificent castles. However, some evil force is brewing amonst the ranks of vishnu's 7 or 8 protectors (i forgot the exact #.) Enter shurato and gai, his best friend. As a precaution, vishnu has sent her two best warriors to earth, memories erased. On earth, they are best friends. During a martial arts match, they are transported back. Shurato awakes, dazed and confused - his outfit has changed. He meets a little cute character, lilly or something and is attacked by gai out of nowhere. Gai has also changed outfit and now has armor styled in a wolf-like fashion. Gai now has unfamiliar weapons and massive strength which he controls like an expert assasin. Shurato barely escapes after finding out how to don the suit of his own - fashioned after the lion. The story goes on to show betrayal, trust, love, and action amonst the warriors. It's old, but quite cool.

What is this anime?

comon, give it up for robotech!!!! doesn't anyone acknowledge its existance? esca is nice..akira is great... ninja scrol is cool... mabye it's cause it's got the 80's style of anime?

This anime is super cool and hard to find. I have about 10 hours of it, but unfortunately, it is not translated.... if anyone has any info, please let me know.

a breakthrough in comedy in the anime world, this series is truely a can't miss... the comic is even funnier. So rare, that i want to talk about what happens, but you really can't. The story changes direction quite often and suprises, shocks, and cracks up almost everyone.

a complete rundown for those of you that have not seen this series: Two girls are transported to a ancient china through a book. As the book progresses, so do they, in the story. I would describe this as a soap-operaish drama with some funny humor and cool action scenes here and there. The characters are what makes you want to come back for more. I have never seen any anime that makes you want to destroy something if you don't get the next episode fast like fushigi yuugi. Despite a lot of whining and stupidity by you-know-who, this series is actually very, very well done. I can also say that this is one of the best anime i've seen. ps... the badasses are hotohori and nakago. Hotohori is hands down the coolest and in my opinion the strongest suzako. nakago is so powerful and badass, that he could whup circles around every warrior in the series. He is so bad, that i like his character because he's so good. haha... Note: depending on your version and translation- a lot of fy's jokes are not fully implimented. it's truely sad because many, many of the jokes from 1-52 are hiliarous.

thanks alita... speaking of new.. mabye it's just me- but how come there isn't any new ground breaking anime... something that just stands out? I mean the last one was supposed to be ghost in the shell, but that one wasn't as good as i thought it would be... and monoke hime..? what? that was also overhyped in my opinion. I recently read the akira comic. I can really appreciate that guy katsuro otomoto. The story is something else. Should i just go back in time and stick to what i've known in the anime world?

it's definately not an intellegent movie.... however, bring your buddies, this movie is so funny for being stupid. Last night was the second time watching it (first time being when it came out - when jumping theaters,) and i realized it's better than a lot of other "stupid main character" comedies out there. And, it's definately better than zoolander, chihiro! and then... and then?

mabye they know deep within that they don't have to try as hard when they act... i mean, everyone knows cruise, daemon, affleck, pitt, and bandares.. people just go to their movies to see them. but to get people to watch their movies, a less handsome guy has to act his ass off. i'm not saying these guys are ugly, but some examples are: buschemi, hoffman, pachino, etc.. and... damn that adam garcia!! (chi's drool tool)

At least the hollywood industry is making some progress here... After mortal kombat and resident evil, mabye this first person shooter will be cool. How can I take a screenshot from a VCD,DVD,Divx... video? Screenshot from VCD,DivX In Windows Media Player go to View->Options, then turn off the Hardware accelaration(under Playback) by moving the slider to None. Now play the video and press the PrtScn button (above the Insert button on your keyboard) to take the screenshot, last launch your favorite photo editor and paste(ctrl-v) to get the screenshot. -or - Download Hypersnap DX. Before capturing select in Hypersnap under Capture->Enable Special Capture DirectX Overlay. Then you just start windows media player and play the video or use any dvd/divx/vcd software player and forward to the screen you want and hit pause. Now start Hypersnap DX and select Capture->Window,Button,Control and click on the video window and you will get the image. Screenshot from DVD Use WinDVD and play the DVD and just press P on your keyboard and a screenshot will be saved under the folder Capture where you installed WinDVD(usually c:\program files\windvd).

ok, ok, i hear you cowboy... i'd like to ask sango.. where do you find your anime? seems like your description of noir is super sound... i ask cause most of the anime i watch is from all sources and you know how sound can get... first of all- child's toy is a riot. i hear that fansubbing companies go crazy after a few episodes and that the series is done by multiple fansubbers. it's a lot to read and is like anime on speed. funny and cute style. maho sukayi tai is what cowboy was talking about before. i know it's not spelled right, but in english it's "i want to learn majic" it's also a funny cute style anime and is quite cool. i want to see noir from your description, sango, but lately, i've been fixed on cowboy bebop. this anime features awesome animation, clever plots and a jazzy style. yokko kanno is quite a force to be reckoned with. before cowboy bebop, i was hyped about initial d. This is truely a great series. It features cgi of car races with techno and dance music. I admit, it isn't for everyone, cause if you hate cars, it will become painful. The story is cool too. back to the basics, check out ranma 1/2, macross plus, and akira. those have to be my favorites.

you all have to admit though... even though al is a great actor, he does generally stay to playing similar roles. he's got isms. woo-ah! another example is nick cage.. you're always gonna see him using his arms a lot, it's funny...
