Which season did you watch? Regardless of your feelings of the tv show, Joss Whedon and Brian K. Vaughan working on the same project? That's gotta be good.

my younger brother was a fan of the early buffy.

so i've seen fair chunk of the first four seasons, i'd say.

it just kinda struck me as a teen show and the story lines never really captivated me.

that said i've only heard good things about whedon's comic endeavours, but that was from people that liked the show i.e. ye guys. hmmm

Buffy is kind of a love and hate thing. It fluctuated between good and bad quite often but I still have fond memories and it was worlds better than other attempts at occult drama that aired on the WB and featured flash in the pan 90s actresses *cough*Charmed!*cough*

Still Whedon crafted some great characters and though I was a fan of Angel moreso than Buffy it was still a pretty decent show.

But then again I was one of 3 people who actually enjoyed Crow: Stairway to Heaven, what do I know?

never watched crow, so i cant judge. i kept mixing it up with that bad highlander spinoff show, you know?

ASC, i was sold on buffy a ssomething better than a teen drama by the final arc of season 2 when Angel went evil. seriously, its a lot better than it looks in concept if you watch later seasons in blocks. im skipping the book till im all caught up, but Whedon's a great writer and BKV seems to outwrite him on his own shit, so there's a lot to look forward to.

If you're referring to the one with Duncan McLeod that one was decent, it had its down moments but Adrian Paul still played my favorite of the two Highlanders. But if you mean Highlander: The Raven you're absolutely right. I wish they'd do what Highlander is famous for and retcon The Source and make a big budget endcap to the series, is that too much to ask?

i guess i was just unlucky enough to always catch the bad ones

i don't think it's for me, as i said i've watched quite a bit of it.
