  1. That's rgiht, I did, along with many other worthy Queen songs, not my fault these polls are limited to 10 choices.
  2. How can i get my hands on a region 1 City Hunter DVD (this is the Anime board, so I don't mean the jackie chan one). I know City Hunter - Secret Service is coming to DVD in teh summer, but I want City Hunter - the Motion Picture. I'd buy it on tape, but I want both english and japanese soundtracks and removable subtitles. Can I get some help?
  3. what's wrong with that? the drummer based one of their concept albums (2112) on an Ayn rand book (actually, the story goes he wrote it, then found out about Ayn Rand's very similar storyline and decided to give Ayn credit for inspiration).
  4. I liked the batman original angle in The Mask Of The Phantasm, but I'm a sucker for everything Bruce Timm has done.
  5. you can still see rush, they'll be touring this summer to promot their new album (their 17th studio album). The album sounds really good, very nu-metalish, but not in a bad way
  6. i looked around and all i found was an aucostic version of limelight (rush 2nd most popular song by most measures) and nothing else. They said some very nice things about rush though. My opinion of a band or artist always goes up when i here them say good things about rush.
  7. sweet. which x-men character most deserves his/her own book? which character is most interesting and developed and can hold his own for an interesting story line. Obviously Wolverine is the most popular in his own book form (what is Wolverine in? the hundred-somethingth issue?). Also, is it true what somebody told me about a few years ago that Gambit descovered the greatest secret in the universe? That he discovered everyhting was just a comic book?
  8. That's what happen when die, things life intelectual property go to your wife. What if she wasn't a big time musician, would you want all nirvana's money and control to go to the remaining band members and leave her with nothing? that's like saying if a work for microsoft until I'm 40 and I die, all my money goes back to Microsoft and my family starves? And this is a poll for most badass, not best musican.
  9. I would say soundgarden characterized grunge a little better, but that doesn't take away from AIC.
  10. The ramones did a sweet version of the spider-man theme. I hope it's in the spidey movie, but it looks like they've got aerosmith and and all these trendy bands, so i doubt it.
  11. Rush is music for musicans. I haven't heard the pumpkins cover rush, which songs have they done?
  12. In my opinion, of all the alternative bands that made it big, only four were truely grunge: nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden and alice in chains (temple of the dog doesn't count, wasn't really a band, but a project, beside i wouldn't say they made it big). Truely a great loos for grunge. guess pearl jam's all we got left besides memories.
  13. Well, i know you wanted the relavancy, and i try to give people what they want. Question: What do you mean either humans killed all mutants ("Days of Future Past"), or Mutants killed all humans ("Age of Apocalypse")? Are we talking paralell timelines or what, which did defeating Apocalypse cause?
  14. Was alrgiht. Showed so cool weapon fighting. Keanu has a stunt double for some of his stunts now. Is my memory are wrong, or did he do all his stunts for the first one?
  15. damn I forgot Joni Mitchell! She deserves to be on there.
  16. I tried to go for rough chronological order. I know you pumpkins fans are gonna come down on me for not putting D'Arcy in, but this is a list of leading ladies and frontwomen. the only one I could think of that I ended up leaving out was Gwen Stafani. I went with Patti Smith, and if you've ever heard anything of her's besides 'Because the Night', you know why. This chick was a true badass, was was one of the founding parent figures of punk. She sounds more badass to me than the Sex Pistols, plus she wrote more intelligently and preceeded them too. Check out her 1974 album 'Horses', her cover of Them's Gloria is unbelievable. That is how songs SHOULD be covered!
  17. bleach is ok, there's a reason that the songs on incestide were b-sides, there weren't that good, and live in new york rules.
  18. Rush is right up there with Zeppelin as far as quality is concerned. Tons of early rush was very zeppelinesque. When they first got radio play with 'Working Man', people called into radio stations to ask when the new Led Zeppelin album was coming out because the new song sounded really good. I think Working Man sounds more like Black Sabbath, but I could understand the confusion. And you can draw many comparsions between the two. Bother very drum intensive, both could write really long songs that were really good (Rush could write a longer song and still keep it good, but Zep had more success with it). I see Zep as a Rush that made it big with the masses, which makes sense, lots of Rush stuff is so way over the heads of most people. But my point was if Robert Plant's voice doesn't bother you, neither should Geddy Lee's.
  19. I had to throw Pet Sounds in there because it is such a phenonial album. It is one of my all time favorite album even though I'm not a Beach Boys fan. For beatles fans, the fab four have said that Sgt Pepper was a direct result of Pet Sounds. When they heard it, they were blown away and argee they had to push themselves farther creativily speaking than ever before in order to one up the beach boys. they later found out the beach boys made pet sounds for exactly the same reason in regards to the beatles' own rubber soul. IC, which Skynyrd album? "Pronounced..."?
  20. Did you know both have cited Neil Peart and Rush as major influences?
  21. Refresh my memory, as it's been a while since i'm followed x-men, after cable completed his objective, why is he staying in teh present (past)? Was there difficulty with time travel, or was it always meant to be a one-way trip? The second is what my memory dicates, but it's fuzzy.
  22. What does your fiance have against star wars. Here's an idea. See if you can catch an early screening, 10am or something, slip her a few sleeping pills the night before, sneak back into bed after the movie before she wakes up! We star wars fans got to watch each others' backs.
  23. No word on a US release. Check out the link for a review of the canadian on though. http://www.dvdcc.com/cgi-bin....pcanada
  24. Dude, let me lay this out for you mathematically: 1.) New Batman Movie = Year One 2.) Year One = Early Days of Batman 3.) Early Days of Batman = Batman/Bruce Wayne will be young 4.) Batman/Bruce Wayne will be young + Accurate portrayal of age = Batman must be portrayed by a young actor 5.) Michael Keaton = Old 6.) Accurate protrayal of Batman != Michael Keaton "!=" means 'not equal to' Besides, even if this wasn't a Year One movie, Keaton has turned down two Batfilms, if he was up to doing it, it would have happened.
