  1. Exactly my point, Kee. And IC, if you have a region 1 Boondock Saints DVD, it should be Canadian. But I got mine in Sept 2000, almost 1 1/2 years ago, maybe it was distrubuted here since I looked into it. Did you have a hard time finding it out DVD? Anyway, the japanese one sounds tempting, but I already have one DVD of it, and it wouldn't be Region 1. I know you can get a DVD program for your computer to play other regions, but with my cashflow, i can't even afford any new DVDs, let alone different versions of movies I already have that won't play on my DVD player. If anyone get's there hands on it, I like to borrow it or watch it with them sometime. I have like 50 or so DVDs for temporary trade, maybe permaent if the deal interests me.
  2. I know I'm ganna get attacked for leaving some songs off this, but I didn't design the polls to have only 10 choices. These are only TV show theme (although Highlander was first a movie). Some that didn't make my cut for the poll includes The Smurfs, Thundercats, Alvin And The Chipmunks, the Simpsons, Spiderman, The Drew Carey Show and all those Disney Afternoon ones, I only put Duck Tales because I thought it was the best of the bunch, although some might argue Gummi Bears.
  3. I wsa seriously considering including one of them. They definitely quality for the best theme song nomination (i think i'll start that actually), but not so definitely for best Queen song. It was a tough call. I'm sticking by my choices though.
  4. Ugh, so hard. I'm probably going to come up with way to many obvious choices, but here goes. I'm only doing one (maybe two if I can't decide) songs per band/artist to keep it simple. 311 - All Mixed Up Ani DiFranco - The Million You Never Made OR Fuel Barenaked Ladies - If I Had A Million Dollars Beck - Loser Ben Folds Five - Philosophy Blind Melon - No Rain Blur - Tender Bush - Glycerine Butthole Surfers - Pepper Cake - Never There Candlebox - You Catch 22 - Day In Day Out Collective Soul - December Counting Crows - Round Here OR Einstein On The Beach Cracker - Low Cranberries - Zombie Crash Test Dummies - Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm Creed - One Dave Matthews Band - Crush Dream Theater - Metropolis (Part 1) The Miracle And The Sleeper Eve 6 - Inside Out Everclear - Santa Monica Everlast - What It's Like Faith No More - Epic Fastball - Out Of My Head Filter - Take A Picture Flys - Got You (Where I Want You) Foo Fighters - I'll Stick Around OR Monkey Wrench Fuel - Shimmer Garbage - Only Happy When It Rains Goo Goo Dolls - Name Green Day - Redundant OR Nice Guys Finish Last Guns N' Roses - November Rain Hole - Celebrity Skin House Of Pain - Jump Around Jane's Addiction - Jane Says (Live) Korn - Shoots And Ladders Lemonheads - If I Could Talk I'd Tell You Lenny Kravitz - Always On The Run Liquid Tension Experiment - (Anything They Did) Live - Pain Lies On The Riverside OR White, Discussion OR Rattlesnake Matchbox 20 - Real World Meat Puppets - Backwater Metallica - Wherever I May Roam Mighty Mighty Bosstones - The Impression That I Get Mustard Plug - Beer Song New Radicals - You Get What You Give Nine Inch Nails - Closer Nirvana - All Apologies OR Dumb No Doubt - Spiderwebs Oasis - Champagne Supernova Offspring - Bad Habit OR Have You Ever Pavement - Cut Your Hair Pearl Jam - Black OR Yellow Ledbetter Pink Floyd - High Hopes Pixies - Where Is My Mind Presidents Of The United States Of America - Peaches Radiohead - Karma Police Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name Of Red Hot Chili Peppers - Aeroplane OR My Friends REM - Everybody Hurts OR Drive OR Losing My Religion Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy Rush - Dreamline OR Alien Shore OR Stick It Out OR Double Agent Save Ferris - Come On Eileen Seven Mary Three - Water's Edge Sevendust - Denial Silverchair - Tomorrow Sister Hazel - Change Your Mind Sleater-Kinney - I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone Smash Mouth - Walking On The Sun Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm OR Zero Soul Asylum - Black Gold Soundgarden - Outshined Soup Dragons - I'm Free Spin Doctors - Two Princes Stabbing Westward - Save Yourself Stereo MC'S - Connected Stone Temple Pilots - Big Empty OR Creep OR Sex Type Thing Sublime - What I Got OR Date Rape Sugar Ray - Fly Symphony X - Of Sins And Shadows OR The Divine Wings Of Tragedy Temple Of The Dog - Hunger Strike OR Say Hello 2 Heaven They Might Be Giants - Istanbul Third Eye Blind - Semi-Charmed Life Toad The Wet Sprocket - Walk On The Ocean Toadies - Possum Kingdom Tom Petty - You Don't Know How It Feels Tool - Sober Tragically Hip - New Orleans Is Sinking U2 - One Vast - Touched Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony Verve Pipe - The Freshmen Violent Femmes - Blister In The Wallflowers - 6th Avenue HeaSunrtache Weezer - Say It Ain't So OR Undone (The Sweater Song) Weird Al Yankovic - Albuquerque White Zombie - Supercharger Heaven OR More Human Than Human Yo La Tengo - Saturday ...he then realized either there are too many songs out there, or he likes too many of them. That's probably way more than too many, but I hope it atleast brought back some memories for some.
  5. Doesn't it make you feel old to talk this way about contempory music. The stuff out there in the mainstream really is (in general) pretty darn bad, but it still makes em feel old. Back in the day, music was actually good (followed by my dentures falling out). Of course most of the music I take about whem I say back in the day is pre-my birth :p
  6. How can devo be your favorite 80's band? First of all, they are a one-hit wonder (though the non-hit song Jocko Homo is pretty cool) and secondly, IT'S DEVO! You have so many (well no that many) better band to choose from. Rush rules.
  7. I didn't want to see a Bohemian Rhapsody dominated poll, so if it is your favorite, vote for you second favorite. I tried to put the 10 best choices, but if you have another choice, mention it. Queen certainly has enough great songs so that your favorite might not have made my cut.
  8. IC, I certainly hope your choice for first is Final Fantasy. For the life of me, I can't understand how this movie did so poorly. I thought for sure this was the movie to break through the animated drama barrier in the US. It was so good, it's had big name actors. I blame it entirely on the marketing, there's no way that movie did as poorly as it did based on it's quality.
  9. Cameron Diaz rules. The Mask, A Life Less Ordinary, Very Bad Things, There's Something About Mary, Being John Malkovich, Vanilla Sky, Shrek, these are so kickass movies and besides being in good movies, she is damn foxy. My number 1 favorite actress.
  10. http://www.geraldfield.com/cgi-bin....tareyou Take the test and see who you are, then when you're done, post who you are. I'm Kermit! Reading takes precious time, so do your fellow man a favor and insert the image you get on your results page as I did, saving us all time in seeing who you are.
  11. Bruce Campell is great, but as Batman? What about Clancy Brown? He's a big fella. But seriously, for a Year One movie, we'd need a young Batman. I can't really think of anyone. Chris Klein has alot of things right (build-wise), but too many things wrong (baby-face, nice guy demenor), but noone else is even coming close in my mind. Maybe I need to give it more thought. So long as it's not Ben Affleck...
  12. That movie changes your whole perspective on everything, doesn't it. I considered myself pretty anarchistic and relatively anti-establishment before fight club, but it's just crazy what it doesn't to your outlook. That's why I love it so much.
  13. Boondock Saints is a fine piece of film. The company that got the distribution rights in the US don't make DVDs, so the only way to get a Region 1 DVD is in Canada, and Boondock Saints is already an obsurce film. It took me forever to find a site that I could buy it from. The shipping was excessive, but I got it, and i checked back the next week and they were back-ordered for weeks, so i was lucky. If anyone at FIU wants to borrow the DVD, just ask. No special features other than a trailer.
  14. Will teh new superman movie thing ever happen? I've heard on and off over the past 8 years or so about the burton/cage new superman, but nothign ever seems to develop there. Are they waiting for Nick Cage to lose more hair before they start production?
  15. Wouldn't a Year One movie require a young Bruce Wayne? Isn't Keaton old? No make-up in the world could make Keaton look enough. I think we all need to join hands at some point and pray it's not Ben Affleck.
  16. If Fincher's directing then we should see a completely different animal in M:I3. Fincher has been making quite a name for himself and has become pretty established and I doubt he would agree to direct M:I3 just because it was a big name big budget hollywood summer sequel if he didn't think the script was up to par. Last summer (the summer of sequels and remakes) didn't turn me on to how hollywood is doing sequels nowadays, but let's hope they are tryign to move away from that.
  17. Interesting stuff. Is what I heard a long time ago true that they're film part 2 and 3 together like they did with Back to the Future 2 and 3 and the 3 LOTRs, meaning that we won't have to wait too long after part 2 for part 3?
  18. no it hasn't been mention. good stuff. The soundtrack is nothing to me compared to the film though.
  19. Haven't heard anything about the one since it was very early in pre-production. Is it still going to be an early days of batman movie? What's some of the basic info on it?
  20. I have no problem wiht Tobey McGuire as Spidey. My problems with Affleck are follows: It's not that he's terrible, because I would be lying if I said I hated or even disliked everything he's been in, but for a superhero role, one which viewers are familar with, teh requirements and expectations are higher. If Affleck goes and does a romantic comedy (shouldn't take TOO much imagination to picture him doing that) then he was room to work with the character and he can not be exactly who the screenwriter or director wanted him to be, and we as an audience won't care. But playing a character we already know, he has to nail it. Plus, I've already seen him in so many other things, I can't picture him as DareDevil, I'll just be seeing a Bartalbe or a Boston Genius' best friend or some damn whiny WWII soldier. Toey McGuire I haven't seen much elsewhere (just Pleasantville) and lets face it, he has Peter Parker written all over him. He doesn't seem to have Spidey's unique sense of humor and cocky backtalk, but anyone who has read Spidey in depth knows that Peter Parker's the deeper more important character to the story than his alter-ego as Spider-Man. Not saying he couldn't screw it up, but from all the trailer and info out there now, it is not a forgone conclusion. It's still very much in the air. I also had no problem with Snipes as Blade, at least in the first one, I haven't seen the second one yet. I need one of those whatcamacallits...money.
  21. Well MAYBE I will! What's it about anyway?
  22. I am, and it sounds more like a rewriting and farfethced story-telling just to bring back a popular character. Anyone else saw LOTR and kept hearing "...Mister Anderson..." in the scenes with the elf king?
  23. I voted for West, but if he was a choice, I would have voted for the only man to do Batman justice off the comic pages: Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in all the 90's animated series. Ask me who my favorite Joker is. I'll give you a clue, it's the same as my choice for best Luke Skywalker ;)
