Ok, I was having trouble with the no alerts, the no kills can be a pain, but it's doable. My problem is I hate that the best rewards you can get in this game require you to not use the majority of the weapons in the game. The game gives you like 60 different guns, but punishes you for using them, Kinda sucks. Currently in Act 2, when you don't continue time is less of a factor. I'm not going for a time run, mainly because I am rewatching some of the cinematics.

Well, spent from about 11:00 pm to 4:00 am beating the ever loving shit out of this game!!!!!!! it's a Metal Gear Tradition. Hell with MGS1 me and a Buddy had forgotten to clear enough room on a memory card, and thus had no ability to save to we played through on one LONG motherfucking playthrough. Overall, it is very good, but probably still not my favorite in the series (that goes to MGS1 or MGS3) but it is better than MGS2. Oddly enough they really have a lot in common. Gameplay: I liked the overall faction vs faction gameplay though it took a while to click. Act 2 has the best gameplay of the entire game. However I DO give props to the great action set piece battles Props also for the (Act 4 spoilers) Still I can't helo but feel like this game had less overall gameplay than even MGS2 did. I think part of it is that each environment felt very sparse and not part of an actual world, unlike Shadow Moses, Big Shell, and Groznj Grad. It's weird, I liked the changes of environment, but missed their cohesion. I think that Kojima had a much grander vision for each environment. It just would have taken another 2 years of dev time to reach it. The game itself feels extremely linear, much more so than previous games. That's a bit of a disappointment. Act by Act Analysis (Spoilers for the number of acts ahead. I don't really think that's a spoiler, but if you don't want to know how long the game is, careful): Again, mixed feelings looking back at it. I'll try to mark these by act as best I can: Act 1: Act 2: Act 3: Act 4: Act 5: Ending: At the end of the Day, MGS3 still has the best overall story IMO, it just makes the most sense without having to go WTF every 5 minutes. Still, technically MGS4 is amazing, though not the best in the series, I can dig it.

I'm curious to see how the final film works. I understand why they would want to cut it though. After Ang Lee's existential Haiku the series NEEDS an action reboot, and 3 hours is mighty long for a comic book movie (few characters have the ability to sustain that long a film). I hope the film is still pretty good as is though, it is going to be tough to get people in the theaters for this one, the last one was so bad I think it really hurt the franchise.

That's nothing I think Golgo 13 is at like 120 or more volumes.

If that's true it's a shame, because Bloom County did politics so damn well, much better than any other strip I have ever seen. I loved how it lambasted both sides, and oddly enough, still feels current. It's funny how the more things change the more they stay the same, we've been arguing the same shit for like 30 years now.

Well, I tried IV once on the NES, cool, but tough to get into. I hope the DS remake makes the gameplay a little less archaic, but that's probably too much to hope for. Still if I have to play an old-school RPG a portable is the best way to do it. Grinding sucks less when you can do it on the shitter. Is this all that much news, I could have sworn this was announced months ago, when we found out the titles of the games in english. or maybe it was a trademark leak.

Nickelodeon has been really assholish with releasing new episodes, it SHOULD have been done by now as there is a comic releasing soon that is an epilogue to the 3rd season. Hopefully it will all be done soon. Supposedly there will be more seasons but the Story of Aang and crew ends this season, with a new story picking up in S4. Nick has been treating this show like shit though. So who knows? One thing that hasn't been talked about is how Andrea Romano is the voice acting director for the show. She has been the director for all the best DCU cartoons (Except 'The Batman') and in my opinion she is the best in the business. I wish more video game and anime productions would use her, or someone who is at least half as good as her, voice acting would actually not suck for once.

Well, beat this bitch yesterday. Decent ending (haven't gotten both yet.). Overall I loved the game, but it is amazing how the fell, and overall fun of the game let me overlook some pretty glaring flaws that I readily acknowledge exist, especially concering how some missions are just a little too scripted. In one I had to kill a dude, so I shot him with a rocket launcher. He was only down to half of his life, apparently he was invincible until I killed all of his buddies. Chase scenes could get that way too, with invincible guys that you have to follow to a particular place. These things stand out even more considering all the amazing world-sim stuff that GTA IV does so well. Also, the lack of checkpoints, not cool, having to drive across all three islands just to die at the same point 5 times in a row BLOWS. But god, I really do love this game, with warts and all, it just does a hell of a job putting you in the shoes of Nico, in Liberty City, and it really is a hell of a good time.

Ah, yeah, no other news on this one, it still appears to be in pre-production, but it's been a quiet year or so since this was announced. IIRC, Preacher got announced on that same date, but no one has heard shit on it either. Hope it isn't cancelled. In brighter news, apparently there is now a ship date for 'A Dance With Dragons': September 30, 2008. I just pray to god this series gets finished before George RR Martin dies. Resident Evil 1 was good, a lot of fun, and kepts the spirit of the games, as well as being a good Zombie movie that works if you have never seen them. Apocalypse and Extinction are drek, with Apocalypse being the better move only by virtue of not sucking as much. I really didn't expect Extinction to be as bad as it was, but wowee was I surprised. It was AWFUL, truly shit on celluloid. This in no way implies that Apocalypse was good, just that Extinction was like exponentially worse. Not really, after the first film, Alice killed pretty much anything good about the films They were all about her, ALL about her. If you mean decent in terms of production design, then I can maybe give you the 3rd film (apocalypse was UGLY), but the scripts were awful, the acting was occasionally worse than the games that inspired the films (No mean feat) and the sense of danger is completely non-existent. The worst part is that they aren't either campy enough (Street Fighter) or just plain incompetent enough (Bloodrayne, House of the Dead) to be entertaining, the last two resident evil films are the result of Paul WS Anderson mentally masturbating on film, and the jizz drips off of every frame.

They were both damned silly. Both created by evil CEOs, and both allowed for a bunch of really cool shots in the film, (Batman flying after the train was friggen AWESOME!) They didn't ruing the movies by any stretch, I mean Iron Man was still great, and BB is the best comic book movie ever, but I didn't like those things. In other news:

I love the Joker, and while I loved Begins to death, I have been DYING to see the Joker and batman done right. Batman was in BB, but now that the setup is out of the way, we can really delve into the characters. As to complaints about the final act, I didn't think it was nearly as bad as all that, and the Ra's twist was awesome. Cillian was never anything more than second bananna, albeit a great one. Not to mention, not all that much time was spent on the love story, and it never seemed to get in the way (unlike say, Spiderman 2, and especially 3). I do agree that the microwave emitter was totally gay, but then again, so are a LOT of final fight things in comic book movies (Iron Monger comes to mind). Cillian is in the film, you can even see him in the trailer, just don't blink.

Trailer is looking amazing, between Iron Man, the Hulk, TDK, and Punisher, this may be the best year for comic movies for quite some time. As great as Iron man was, I cannot WAIT for this film, I am a Batman fan first and foremost and I have wanted a film like this for well over a decade. I love how the new trailer sets up the overall arc of the film which looks like it is going to be epic!

Well, several hours in already and this game is fucking crack! Seriously, great gameplay, cool story, and an amazing world to fuck around in. I've never been a huge GTA guy, but this one is just amazing so far. Can't wait to try some multi-player. To anyone on the fence I definitely recommend it!

Be getting it in a couple of hours. Pretty nice that the store by my house isn't that popular, so I'm like #30 in line, we don't even have to get there before midninght, I already have my #, so I can just chill until then. Hopefully if enough hondonians get this we can get a huge MP game going.

Seriously, everyone who has the ability to post on this thread can play fallout 1 and 2, heck, even a mac or linux box should be able to play this thing virtualized, it's that fucking old. Here's a torrent, considering I don't think the game is easily found anymore. This, and its sequel were some of the best RPGs EVER. The level of freedom and story are still to this day unsurpassed (except for maybe Torment), and the world was amazing. There are so many ways to play through fallout, and they pretty much all rock.

Skeet which system did you get it for? I'm debating seeing if I can get in on a midnight launch at a nearby store, they ususally don't have that many people waiting for these things. Also to the system war side of things, the PS3 one runs at a lower res, is supposedly a little bit better looking, and loads a bit faster. the 360 supposedly has better colors, and will have exclusive DLC coming down the line. Supposedly the DLC should be pretty sweet, but we don't know much about it yet. Talk has it like Liberty city Stories size or some shit like that.

Looks pretty sweet. Though I am guessing with the success of BioShock EA was kicking themselves for letting the System Shock IP flounder. This looks to be in the same vein, though 3rd person. Could be cool.

Gunsmith is probably gonna get one within the week way he's been talking. Though I still think that you are smoking something if you think MGS4 makes it out by the holidays. The new pics of the 80GB one say limited eition, so yeah, I figure it will last as long as it takes to clear the 60GBs out of the retail channel. Still as far as bundles go, this one is AWFUL, it just seems like not enough value for the extra $100. I'm curious to see if this annoucement is going to make MS drop its price. I would think so, but God knows that the big 3 have all done shit that has had me baffled. We'll find out on tuesday I suppose. If BC is important to you though I'd recommend anyone planning on getting a PS3 to grab a 60 while they can. The elephant in hte room night now though is this: Is $499 still too expensive for the market? Hell, I think $399 for the 360 is too expensive for the market, and I think sales are backing me up. I mean, Sony will have some pretty good games at the end of the year, but w/o MGS4 and FFXIII, is there enough out there to grab the people who still haven't made the jump?

Glad you're liking Oblivion, do the Dark Brotherhood stuff when you get the chance. Holy crap that questline rocks. As for the pricecut news, the current buzz is that Sony will also be releasing another $599 SKU in August that will be packed with Motorstorm and have an $80 gig hard drive. That just screams rip off, and honestly I can't see buying that one over the $499 model. The price cut should be going into effect later today. I think it's good that Sony is cutting the price on the main system, though I'm hearing that it may be in order to clear out the 60GB models they have on shelves right now, and then have the 80GB one as the main SKU from now on. So who knows, I think that Sony should be trying to keep the hell away from any sort of $599 price point, especially one which is a rip-off compared to the cheaper model. The 80GB one is supposedly going to finally nix the hardware BC, and will actually be cheaper for Sony to produce. So who knows, maybe once the 60GBs are gone, Sony will drop Motorstorm and have the 80GB PS3 as the only model for $499. Time will tell I suppose.
