  1. Really? Her nose trows me off. And her voice. <shudder> Am I the only one hoping Chang won't be the butt of so many jokes anymore? I preferred him as the smarmy character instead of the pity party he's become.
  2. Yes, I read that also. As well as the Costco thing. This women is despicable on several levels.
  3. Oh yeah, I've given sympathy tips. And I have revised my position yet again. The guy who waited for his pizza and then was told to leave? Well, they interviewed him. Apparently that was very real. The producer of the show confirmed it as well. And after doing even more digging, Amy has had issues in the past with bloggers and reviewers. This couple just seems paranoid and doesn't take to critiscism well. I now regret sending that email. The past reviews seem hit or miss. People either loved the food or hated it, though service is described universally as poor. Likely because the servers have no initiative. This place needs to be shut down. I don't think this couple has any business working with the public or working in a supervisory capacity. https://www.change.org/petitions/the-us-department-of-labor-and-the-wage-and-hour-division-whd-investigate-amy-s-baking-company-bakery-boutique-bistro-in-scottsdale-az That ^ is what I think about that.
  4. If you are going to pay your servers hourly then you should not accept tips. Put up a freaking sign or something. I don't object to not allowing the servers tips, if they are indeed paid hourly, but the customers assume those young ladies are receiving those tips and if they are not then it is very dishonest. I don't even like the concept of tip share. I truly hope this restaurant goes under You know, I just couldn't help myself though...I went on their website and sent them a nice email. I told them that maybe they aren't as bad as the program made them out to be and if they feel they need help, perhaps they should ask friends and family. Then I mentioned the concept of tip share. I also pointed out that bad publicity could be their chance to turn things good. <shrug> Guess I'm a bleeding heart, but it seems far-fetched that any two people could be that horrible.
  5. Can someone post an actual link? I'm at work so I can't see this and I'm dying to know!
  6. Ha ha ha. You forgot the fact that you guys hate explosives and everyone is Anglican.
  7. Ok, granted the search function does not work all that great... Irish history? Ok, sure. When you were talking history I just immediately thought world history. Very general stuff like WWII, Charlemange, Alexander, and Egypt. Gotta be honest, I'm Irish about two generations back but I know next o nothing about Irish history. Unless you count the folklore. I got a decent grasp on that. And I love shepherd's pie and soda bread. But I guess that isn't really history either. Damn, I'm ignorant.
  8. Yeah...that's another thing... I personally have never felt the need for forum or subforums. We do have a search function to find threads if some get too old...
  9. I agree, Axel. Politics is Current Events. I don't think we need to make that a bigger priority than others news. I gotta be honest, I think that was mostly for Arch.
  10. I don't really care if history has it's own subforum. I post what I want just whereever I think it's appropriate. If Nick or someone with admin powers doesn't like it, they can move it. That being said, if it's such a big deal to others though, I don't see why we shouldn't have one. If Hondo's is anything like the Knoll, creating a subforum isn't that diffcult. (You didn't include a who cares option so I felt that I had to justify my vote.) Will people really post that often in a history forum though? I think that's what should be put to vote. I mean...it is history after all. What is there really to discuss? "Hey, didja hear about that Archduke guy that got hisself shot?"
  11. Actually, I posted that before I had finished the book, love. I thought I recalled a mention of the tattoo I really did. But upon reading it once more, there seemed not to be. Still part Maori though and they do have a custom of facial tattoos. Bit much in this instance I would have to say though. Shoulda dona a Chakotay thing.
  12. Did you read the wiki part about how the audience is gonna know before Ender knows? There goes the heart wrench
  13. Dark and gloomy-ish, Burtonesque is what I took away from the first. Oh, and that the new Spock is rather attractive and the new Kirk has squinty eyes.
  14. FDB? Isn't that rather formal after all we meant to each other? In all seriousness, that makes two people whose opinions I trust that have told me its not all bad. I will consider it. And I mean really consider it. It helps that you mentioned it acknowledges where it diverged. It's kinda like, well since you admit it, let's move forward.
  15. You're right. Off topic. I will say this, did they choose to make a new series of the reboot with the same actors...I would tune in to see what they do. So far, I just don't think the movies are true to the spirit
  16. Mazer is Polynesian. Maori, I think. Facial tattoos are very common in his culture and he does have one in the book. I still don't see what the spoiler is!! Argh!! Can someple please PM me and tell me what it is that I'm missing? If it is what Ryan thinks it is...well, it is a spoiler because Ender came to the realization. Ender came to a lot of realizations. I hope those aren't cut out of the movie. I also agree that the book really should have been at least two movies. There's just too much interpersonal crap. I also wonder if this stuff will translate well to screen.
  17. There is no way you can TNG was better than DS9. Well, ok, you can say it but I disagree. I happen to think they were equally good in different ways and for different reasons. Also, Enterprise was better than Voyager. God...I hated Voyager. Am I alone in this opinion? Is reboot reboot when they appear to be fundamentally changing the spirit of the franchise? I tend to think not. Hence my resistance to seeing these movies
  18. I don't see that it really revealed anything...are you talking about the big ball of rock that explodes in the trailer? I always thought the real surprise was the revelation Ender makes independently about the Bugs and what Maser admits to
  19. There's already been five shows. I don't think there's room for more. As I said before, it's just old. I think it should have just been left alone. Yes, I'm aware that some people didn't like Enterprise. I'm not sure why though, having never talked to anyone about it. I enjoyed the first two seasons. It was in continuity...mostly, and had the same feel. Until we got to the Xindi. Bleck. Maybe they were trying to make a point, but honestly, I just didn't care enough to see where the characters went from there.
  20. Says you. I don't like it and you can't make me. :P No, really, I see what you are saying and I agree that it is valid and true. However, I do not agree with the statement that new stories can continue to be told in the old universe. You must understand, this was primarily a screen series. A few books, but mostly film. I don't see there being any new old films, y'know. Regardless, I personally still feel alienated by the restart so you will have to go see this without me.
