  1. ...I used to be hardcore...but my PS3 HDD died months ago, taking my Lv 220+ thief with it. ::sigh:: oh how i miss her so...
  2. It did for me. I actually ended up liking the combat quite a bit. Story, meh~

    Shenmue

So in all honesty, do you guys think a Shenmue III may never happen? While I thoroughly enjoyed the first, I never got around to playing the second (Nick, hook it up), but the chances of a third happening after this comment I read not too long ago make me wonder: While I will find it hard to imagine a sequel without its creator, other studios who have shown interest like Sumo Digitial. Will Sega allow it? Time will tell.
  4. Unless you're between Soul Level 150-190, I can't help you. :\
  5. Well, I'm certainly not going to say Zelda (since I really haven't played one since 'A Link to the Past'), but it certainly has an Oblivion vibe. You do have swords and eventually magic so it's the closest thing I can relate it to. I mean, there is a bit of Wow in this thing too where you do have a cool-down time for stamina. Uhm...Your armor needs constant repairs, you can forge. Uh, oh yeah, a big thing about the game is that it's always live so there is no pausing since your online. Overall, it just blends many other games into one neat and difficult package. Sorry for the terrible description but that's really all i can go on... haven't really been gaming much. Regardless, its game that needs to be tried out by RPG enthusiasts... and masochists.
  6. Mixed reviews or not! Take this Hondonian's word that this game rocks. Certainly a challenging game, but a fair one none-the-less. What makes it so difficult, I believe, is the steep learning curve. So much info is thrown in your face and at the same time Demon's Souls forces you to learn and perfect combat. Not getting a grasp on swordplay will pretty much be your downfall. Even the toughest of enemies (big menacing ogres and such) fall to your blade with well places hits, correctly timed dodges and tons of patience. And when you do beat that big enemy...Man!!! It really does feel like you just beat the game. Personally, I wasn't going to buy it (I'm broke like a joke). But thanks to my little bro's interest in this game, it resides in my PS3 now. SO if you're on the fence, at least rent it...and make sure you're ready to buy afterward (given you're an RPG buff).
  7. Sony Megaton Rumors from a supposed employee: - New 80GB PS3 bundle with 2 games will be launched at the end of March. It will cost $399. - New 40GB PS3 SKU will be launched this May. It will cost $299. - PSP Slide will be shown for the first time in this year's E3. It will launch next year. - The currently available PSP model will get a price cut too. The cost will be $119. - Fumito Ueda will be there in GDC09. He will announce 2 projects. One of them is Shadow of the Colossus Online. - Syphon Filter is in development for the PS3. Apparently the developers are using the Killzone 2 engine. - Insomniacs are developing a new action platformer RPG. It looks like a Zelda clone. - Jak 4 is on the way too. - Daxter 2 will be on ready at the time of the PSP Slide launch. - Legend of Dragoon 2 is under development and is to be launched in Japan this year. Take them with a grain of salt people. Let's hope some are true.
  8. Luckily, my DreamCast works so I can play most of these game already. (got 2 new VMUs not too long ago)
  9. Wow...I finally broke 400 posts after 2 and a half years of being a Hondonian...I should really post more.
  10. HEY! I read the nightwork PDF. You should look up "The Great Happiness Space" . A good documentary that goes with what i read.

  11. The first trailer looked worse, but this is right down there. ::sigh:: As a huge fan of the manga and show, that was like a dick to the eye. You don't know how depressing it is to see that. I mean, there is so much wrong in what I just saw that could have been done right. For example that scene with the transforming bike. Really, is it that complicated to throw a goddamn capsule on the floor and make it go ::POOF:: instant bike. Argh, apparently so. They needed to take a "cool' route for even the littlest thing that the 'fans' would have appreciated. In any case, as a fan of Dragonball, I really have no choice but to watch this movie. I really don't want to, I have to. The things you do for the things you love :\
  12. I think I can up the ante on that. Get this, I OWN the entire Half-Life collection (not pirated, bought it at Wal-Mart for $15) and and I only played 20 minutes of the first game (I also own HL2 as well, I only put about 2 hours into that one). I never got into it or counter strike. Some say it's sad, but I was having fun with the original Unreal Tournament...then its subsequent sequels. *takes cover*
  13. You know, I found out about that site about a month ago. Then I see kotaku post it. Sad part is I was meaning to post this here...slipped my mind. Was busy looking at her powering up her boobs...or whatever she's doing.
  14. So yeah, This Resistance 2 beta ain't half bad. It's actually pretty good. It's like a none-stop invasion slaughterfest for the co-op mode. Nice variety of Aliens too. Pretty sweet. I may have some beta codes on Tuesday. Stay tuned.
  15. Its not the horror in the movie that intrigued me (not great). The game seems to do the job of spooking the crap out of me (from what I've seen). Its that fact that there was 80 minutes of (semi-decent)back story to go with this game. Then again, i don't have very high standards for this sort of thing. It was pretty entertaining none-the-less.
  16. So I got around to seeing Dead Space: Downfall and I must say, I'm intrigued. I think I will pick this game up right after LittleBigPlanet (and right after I have some spending money). Reading all these 'rave reviews' about it, I may not regret my purchase. Anyone else see it?
  17. Last night, I had the chance and privilege of seeing the Found Footage Festival. Volume 2. Presented on stage by the curators themselves, I watched an unholy collection of infomecials, work-out tapes, dance montages, and public access TV that will absolutely blow your mind. Everything from Marky Mark's first work-out tape to the amazingly scary facial system known as Rejuvenique. But enough of me rambling on about it. Please watch the following clips as they will give you a small taste of what this collection is all about. Trailer for Volume 2 Rap Montage How To Seduce Women Through Hypnosis That last one really works. (For some reason, the layout looks funky. I can't figure out how to fix it. Sorry)
  18. Although the game looks great, I can't help but think of that terrible game Bullet Witch. Being that its the DMC guy, I'm sure it won't be that bad. It'll probably end up being Devil May Cry...with Tits. Wait...
  19. Ah, the DreamCast. Truly a shining gem in the jewelry box of gaming. While I can't agree with the list except for Shenmue (though i did love Power Stone), I do miss many other titles. Notably the fighting games. However, most of them did find their way over to the PS2 and/or Xbox. One of the title lost in the shuffle was Rival Schools (Project Justice). I hope to see it this generation (strong emphasis on HOPE). As to memory cards, they were always about $20~$25. Nothing too crazy. Now they're ~$7 at Play-asia.com. MH, you are too rad. Bless you child. And for the rest of you wanting to relive the Days of the DreamCast, I come baring gifts. Enjoy.
  20. Here's a guide that shows exactly what i was doing to buff up in Crisis Core: http://www.symbianize.com/showthread.php?p=491725 Enjoi.
