Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Recommended Posts

Betrayed by the Romans. Forced into slavery. Reborn as a Gladiator. The classic tale of the Republic’s most infamous rebel comes alive in the graphic and visceral new series, "Spartacus: Blood and Sand." Torn from his homeland and the woman he loves, Spartacus is condemned to the brutal world of the arena where blood and death are primetime entertainment. But not all battles are fought upon the sands. Treachery, corruption, and the allure of sensual pleasures will constantly test Spartacus. To survive, he must become more than a man. More than a gladiator. He must become a legend.

Starring Australian actor, Andy Whitfield (McLeod's Daughters) as Spartacus, Lucy Lawless ("Xena: Warrior Princess") as Lucretia, John Hannah (The Mummy, Four Weddings and A Funeral) as Batiatus and Peter Mensah (300, The Incredible Hulk) as Doctore, this unique mix of live action, graphic novel effects and brutal battle sequences is set to make "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" an epic television event.

Directed by Grady Hall and Rick Jacobson, Spartacus: Blood and Sand comes to life with the unique vision and outlook they bring to the series.

Just started watching this series (2 episodes in), and I'm liking it thus far. Anyone else watching this?

YOU SHUT YOUR FUCKING WHORE MOUTH LUCY LAWLESS WAS THE HOTTEST CYLON OF THEM ALL

God, she's a redhead in this too :pinch: Well, these pictures are going on the USB drive (it's sad when I type in "Lucy Lawless nude" on google and have to wade through 3 pages of clothed images to find the ones I'm looking for. Shame on you google. Shame.)

P.S. This show is on Hiatus until the guy who plays Sparticus stops having cancer. Just so everyone knows.

The first two episodes were just okay, but if you can hang in there the show becomes very, very enjoyable. If you were a fan of HBO's Rome and are still jonesing for new episodes, this show will give you your fix.

The latest reports are that the actor who plays Spartacus, Andy Whitfield, has successfully undergone treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma and has been given a clean bill of health.

Spartacus star Andy Whitfield, 39, dies in Sydney

Spartacus actor Andy Whitfield dead at 39

A "beautiful young warrior" who died in "arms of his loving wife"

Well, that sucks. The poor guy comes out of nowhere in his late 30's and gets famous with a hit TV show, then cancer promptly fucks him in the ass.
