Keth
I don't like Sony hoarding certain characters. That said I wanna see this happen!

Da Cap'n 2099
I don't have very much confidence in Sony to go at this alone. I think its a mistake. Hopin for the best tho.

Iambaytor
Michael Morbius sucks as a main character (he barely works as a supporting character and doesn't work at all as a villain) and Marvel's continuous drive to give him his own series is their greatest Sissyphean task. IF this movie actually happens it will suck, Aunt May was a better idea than this.
Drifter
Morbius was like all the stupidity of The Twilight Saga before there was an Edward to mock...

Bringing in Morbius as a side character to Spider-Man won't work. A Blade storyline would be your best avenue for this. Whether in movie or show form, him having his own thing is foolish.
Iambaytor
Well the Aunt May stuff was a joke but I stand by it. He'd be a halfway decent villain for a Spider-Man movie so long as he's filling the Bokeem Woodbine role mini-boss role but I think he'd even drag down a Blade movie. Da Cap'n 2099
Nah, I meant make em the Foggy to Blade's Matt or something. And not even in that dynamic. Just a side character that has an arc and stuff that ties to whatever Blade is doing.
Iambaytor
Maybe if Morbius got a Wesley Snipes Blade-esque makeover (I mean making the character suck less, not making him more Wesley Snipesish) then I could see it but all Morbius does is whine and feel sorry for himself. He needs a major overhaul and I don't think the people who greenlit not one but two Amazing Spider-Man movies are the people for the job.
Little Nemo McFly
I've always dug Morbius. I remember really hoping he'd show up in that first Blade sequel. After seeing the direction Disney / Marvel is taking Spidey w/ Homecoming - I'm actually pretty interested in seeing what Sony has planned for their take on the Spidey universe. Hopefully, a bit more adult. Adult doesn't mean 'no color' and all 'dark shadows' - but, in content and gravitas. I mean, Spider-man didn't throw a single punch in Disney / Marvel's Homecoming...like, 'Secret of the Ooze' - the Turtles never actually use their weapons. It's reinvented and aimed at very 'general' audiences. Too pandering for it's own good in my opinion. PC culture for the win...yaaaay... Maybe Morbius could carry a flick - these characters are essentially being routinely reinvented at this point as they cross over into film. He had a couple o' episodes dedicated to him in the 90s cartoon - they worked.
Da Cap'n 2099
PC Culture? You mean realistic?
The NZA
yeah, bishop was making the joke afterwards how spidey must've gone to the most diverse high school or something...i don't know what people think NY looks like and i was gonna argue with baytor about morbius as a cool blade movie villain but yeah, his point does stand there...i wouldn't want him the same as the comics (unless it's done really well, kinda like how split treated its respective villain)
Da Cap'n 2099
How about in name only? Dr. Michael Morbius running around like Blade's Night Nurse or something? Maybe he does some shady shit and becomes kind of a "villain?" Why does he need to be the lead of anything?!

Little Nemo McFly
Awww - those initial Morbius episodes weren't terrible. LOL - those later team-up eps...yeah, it was all a bit much. If Sony takes a 'differentiator' approach to their Spidey-verse - and do something w/ a bit more edge and 'grown'...a vampire running around the city could work / fit. A solo flick... Iambaytor
Woof, it doesn't even have a charismatic weirdo like Venom, just an obnoxious one.

alive she cried
I had very little interest in Sony's non Spidey Spideyverse. I haven't seen either Venom, and the first trailer for this did nothing for me. But I'm oddly finding myself getting more and more intrigued here. MCU Vulture doesn't hurt either, but genuinely, as a movie this looks like it could be fun if nothing else.
Iambaytor
I appreciate Sony's commitment to making the most 2006 ass superhero movies ever. Also taking Michael Morbius, a dud of a character who had had innumerable second chances despite never really being any good and hiring Jared Leto to play him? Amazing casting.
Dag
I liked the trailer. It has echoes of the novel The Passage. This is probably one of the few superhero movies that I am actually interested in seeing. I liked Panch's idea about making this a Blade film though.
