Now, we all know that UA1 had the "theme" teams, pick 4 characters from a particular group (FF, xmen, avengers), you get a special bonus, right? I'm sure UA2 will have the same AND with 3 Thunderbolts members announced so far, they're gonna HAFTA have AT LEAST one more so that they can have a special thunderbolts team. Who do you think? Bullseye? Radioactive Man? My money's on Penance. I thought he was a cool character, and he's a major part of the whole Civil War shenanigans. I doubt theyd run with the new team, and Swordsman, Songbird etc arent high profile enough. I think you're on the money. you know, i know these games have their fun dancing outside continuity, but a playable Goblin is gonna be weird. Anyway, keep the character reveals coming! id be surprised if Sentry and Ares didnt make a show, Cable better be playable, and Peter David really has me wishing Madrox would be too, somehow. The NZA Posted September 17, 2009 Author Share Posted September 17, 2009 by most accounts (waiting on gamefly here), i should take your prior advice and not try again at tired-ass engines. im told there's fewer moves, buffs etc, you can only play half the cast at a given time, they took people out and since it wasnt raven (people who did X-Men Legends 1 & 2, MUA 1 etc) there's supposedly a lot less fan service, which for me was the name of the game. alternate costumes got cut, too many exclusive characters always pisses me off (DS got like 2 extra, juggernaut = prepay, WTF?) buy it, you're gonna. and you're gonna trade it. if they do rentals near you, you could save enough to buy a boat or some shit, no lie. NZA should get a kick out of the fact that the training mission is Fury's Secret War , it's cool to see Stan the Man get his cameo too. DP's fourth wall-breaking, while in-character, is acceptable. Mostly, it was just "rape bosses with the thing." and use fusions if I needed to deal extra damage faster. However, there's a trophy for performing every available fusion, which is made more aggrivating by the load time when switching heroes and the sheer monotony of the task. The other trophies at least require skill, or good hunting skills or a good guide.... but this one is just... fuse down the alphatbet, move on, repeat.... so, so annoying. I spent two hours just now doing less than half of them. There's no in-game track of who has fused with who, so they all have to be done, from the top. A day or so later, I'm reminded of the days of beer goggles, and going to bed with beauties & waking up next to gargoyles. I was so goddamned excited about the Civil War style & story that I'd have played fucking Fable 1.2.7 to relive that magic. Sure I wasn't as tired of the engine, but subsequent playthroughs I'd previously attempted were lost on repetitive play. Now that i'm somewhere past halfway I guess, they've scrapped the Civil War motif for a generic 'unilateral threat we all need to fight', and my heart breaks. Mal- lemme know if they play back into CW with this, because I ridiculously enough, still haven't even unlocked Osbourne or the Gargan Venom(although I get a giddy thrill playing as Penance), and without the story, I've run out of reasons to keep playing. The NZA Posted September 26, 2009 Author Share Posted September 26, 2009 well, im a few days in and still digging the CW story bits - JZA's words (hell, even the achievement descriptions) imply we're inevitably heading towards an "evil so great it unites everyone into a giant high-five" that i fear and hope to be wrong about. Still pissy to lose Moon Knight and a few others, Iron Fist is great though. Shame the variant costumes (often my favorite bit of fan service) dropped the ball so awfully here, Cap's is the only decent one, and that's saying something from it being recycled a few times now. i just dont see the excuse here, Deadool with black/red and shoulder pads? Why not just use the awful ending one from the movie i fyoure gonna do that? and every single one ive opened so far is that way; Luke Cage, Wolvy, Iron Fist (ugh), all bad, all clearly never worn in the books for a reason. i mean, props on making me appreciate logan's bananasuit, i guess? i know its to soon for gamefaqs to have character guides & such, but i gotta be building some dudes like Daredevil wrong, or he's mad gimped. He's like the Blade of this game so far. im also like one piece away from unlocking Jean, Thor and Hulk and clearly missing those pieces in the last few levels i gotta remember to wander more before beating bosses. Legendary/Anti-Reg so far, its not that tough at this point as long as you dont let bosses spam you. we'll see how it holds up. Iceman's alternate came from X-Men: Ronin? whose call was that? the worst goddamn offender has to be Gambit's, please say someone else saw this. i had to check wiiki just to find out he was somehow Apocalypse's angel of death for like an issue (bar = lowered.) its coming along, that's just been bothering me, though. also, JZA? yeah, shark = jumped.
