  1. Being set pre-Bioshock opens the doors for them threading all kinds of little bits into the story line showing how all of what's going on here inspired Rapture.
  2. If it's 1912 it's post "Victorian" era (1837-1901 source wiki). Airships are being used by Italy(?) At this point in time for military reconnaissance I believe and I think this is the year when the Titanic launched. It's pretty well an exciting time to base the story in. Would there still be strong clothing influences from the Victorian era? Most definitely. Again, this is being made by the BIOSHOCK team, not the Bioshock 2 team. I believe you were thinking of the Industrial Revolution which IS in this time.
  3. I'm hoping they are gonna channel a lot of Wells. The Steampunk inside me came.
  4. http://pc.ign.com/ar.../1111864p1.html <object id='vid_14258733' width='480' height='270' data='http://media.ign.com/ev/embed.swf' type='application/x-shockwave-flash'><param name='movie' value='http://media.ign.com/ev/embed.swf' /><param name='allowfullscreen' value='true' /><param name='allowscriptaccess' value='always' /><param name='bgcolor' value='#000000' /><param name='flashvars' value='vgroup=bioshock_trl_081210&object=14258733' /></object><div style='width:480;'><a href='http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/14258733/bioshock-3/videos/bioshock_trl_081210.html'>More BioShock: Infinite Videos</a></div> I for one can't wait, but i'm a bit obsessed with the Bioshock franchise. Oh and it's being made by Irrational, the guys who did Bioshock (not Bioshock 2)
  5. Saw "Distant Worlds: Music From Final fantasy" recently. Uematsu sat right over by us but I managed to refrain from fanboying all over him. The lack of Final Fantasy 4 music made me sad, but for the most part it was amazing. Hearing the whole opera from FF6 made me explode into joyous orgasm. Quick aside to that, I know it's a video game symphony and all but people learn some fucking symphony etiquette. Your thrashed jeans and Final Fantasy shirt from 10 years ago with the mustard stains are unacceptable. I know Video Games Live had a cosplay contest and it was O.K there, but it said no where on the Distant Worlds sheets about one. Take off your shitty Zidane costume. Oh and to that mid 20s loser with his DS on the whole time and waving his plush moogle in the air? Fuck you.
  6. For the record, I fucking hate the Tigrex.

  7. I apologize. It was Knightfall, and I have been drinking. (Obviously since I had to re-edit my own post and correct myself)
  8. Tonight I took the dive. I've been a Marvel kid ever since I was little, even collected Marvel cards (many of which I still have). The only exception to this was to read Batman, and of course, the death and return of Superman (which along side Knighsbane are good novels). I finally gave in tonight and borrowed Green Lantern Corps: Recharge and Green Lantern Corps: To Be A Lantern. I have to say that I am enjoying it, some of the lore is a little lost on me but it seems to be a great beginners place for a newb like me.
  9. Why can't I stop playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2?!

  10. Bindusara on there. I downloaded it for alien swarm.
  11. You know what never came out? That Symphony of the Night sequel game I wrote back in high school. I did a full script plus graph paper maps including everything from enemies to items dropped. If only...
  12. My problem with it as of late is that most of the history shows they are putting on are mostly relevant to whatever is going on in the box office at the time. (LOOK THE HISTORY OF VAMPIRES AND WE INCLUDED TWILIGHT CLIPS) From a marketing standpoint it's a pretty slick move. From a my desire to fucking watch it standpoint...well it can go die in a fire. (Just make sure it sparkles.)

  14. Here's my history of Monster Hunter. I picked up the first one way back in the day for the PS2 (?) and played it for a few hours, determined the controls were clunky, and they game as a whole blew. Recently my co-worker came to work with two copies of MH Freedom 2 for the PSP because he wanted something we could play on our lunchbreaks. Reluctantly I said yes and now about 40 hours into the game I am loving it. I'm not sure what it is about the game that caught me the second time around but I will say that TRI looks pretty fun and i'd like to give it a shot.
  15. For me, being brought in through Spycer I at least knew SOMEONE here when I first got in (even if he's hardly on these days *coughcough*) and I starting chatting with NZA and Little Lund shortly after that. For a long time i did feel like an outsider and was a bit wary of posting anything, if at all. I've gotten over most of it but I rarely throw down in areas like politics or philosophy like i'd like to. Given a bit more time i'm sure i'll feel more a part of the "one of us" mentality but for now it's at least nice to get to know some of the memebers here.
  16. Why do that? I wanna go compete next year. Come on NZA, you know you wanna go to VEGAS.
  17. I don't know if any of you are interested but the EVO fighting game tournament was this last weekend in Vegas. I really wanted to make it out but due to some personal things cropping up I couldn't afford it. Maybe next year... That being said here's the video from the Super Street Fighter 4 finals, it's one hell of a back and forth set of matches:
  18. No one here has ever lived in MI have they? Faygo is amazing, too bad the Juggalos keep ruining it for everyone else.
  19. Taco bell won the franchise war. Fuck, didn't any of you see Demolition man? Soon all restaurants will be Taco Bell.
  20. A little somethin' to rock out to. My friend and I were working on this song a while back as a duet thing (male/female alternating sections). Also one of my fave SH songs of all time.
