The NZA Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Bill Skarsgard is Pennywise in the new 'It' Up and coming actor Bill Skarsgard will play the lead role in It, the Andy Muschietti-directed adaptation of the Stephen King bestseller about neighborhood pals who are haunted by the murderous clown Pennywise. It’s a step up for Skarsgard, who has been knocking on the door in series like Hemlock Grove and the Divergent sequels. He’s the son of actor Stellan Skarsgard. Quote
Donatella Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) Haha! Hakujin summed it up nicely. I haven't seen this guy in anything, so I'm not sure if he'd be a good Pennywise. Tim Curry is hard to beat in ANY of his roles! I'd kinda like to see an updated It, only because I'm interested in a theatrical version. The miniseries was sooo long, but also really good so this'll have big shoes to fill (there's a clown reference here I'm too lazy to make). Anyone else think this Skarsgard dude has Steve Buscemi eyes? Edited June 3, 2016 by Donatella Quote
The NZA Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 Anyone else think this Skarsgard dude has Steve Buscemi eyes? damn, now that you mention it, yeah...doubtful if he'd find it a compliment though, haha Quote
Keth Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 The Buscemi eyes will only heighten the performance. Quote
Visitant Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Did watch all off Hemlock Grove, i think he might be able to pull it off. Quote
Iambaytor Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 When assessing the quality of a potential Pennywise, recall that the man they got for the job in the '80s looked like this: Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Yeah, Curry was pimp af. What's your point? Quote
Keth Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Probably that he looks a hell of alot like Skarsgard there. He even had those Buscemi eyes. Quote

Iambaytor Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 What an amazing blu-ray for such a mediocre movie. Quote
Little Nemo McFly Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 What's really amazing is the price...only $55! LOL - WTF?! Quote
Little Nemo McFly Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 http://movieweb.com/it-movie-remake-pennywise-clown-full-costume-photo/ A clown from a different time... Quote
Choose Life Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 (edited) Anyone seen the recent images released? Seems they are incorporating a lot more from the book, which is nice. The tv movie haunted my childhhod. Feels like i'm in the story , going back to see another version of it as an adult. Very excited. Edited January 4, 2017 by Choose Life Quote
Drifter Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 This has been bothering me since I saw the new Pennywise... I thought I saw him somewhere before and then it just hit me now: It's like he's a less colorful Creegan from Cleopatra: 2525 It's like Alice in Wonderland white queen/red queen thing going Quote
Little Nemo McFly Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 My take is a jester from the renaissance? Like, a medieval-thing? I'm getting 'old-ass clown' - that's like, fallen out of an old painting / tapestry or something. Anyone seen the recent images released? Nope. Anything cool? Any publicity shots of the Losers Club? Donatella Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Oh hell yeah. I'm on board for this for sure (NZA, ya heard? I wanna see this in theaters!)! That was creepy as hell. But since when is a 2.5 min trailer a "teaser?" I always thought those were like the 15-30 second ones they put before longer trailers in theaters. Quote
Visitant Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 But since when is a 2.5 min trailer a "teaser?" I always thought those were like the 15-30 second ones they put before longer trailers in theaters. Because they have 5 more trailers ready to show you the whole movie in 10 minute intervals. Saw the trailer, and I'm super excited for it. There's a lot of people who were naysayers when the first talks about this happened (Tim Curry is god etc), and I hope this "teaser" changed some minds. Quote
Da Cap'n 2099 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 What you're saying is this could be the Ledger to Curry's Nicholson? Quote
