the division of joy Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 From wikipedia The plot, paying homage to the cop movie genre, revolves around London policeman Nicholas Angel (Pegg), who is so good at his job he's making his colleagues look bad. He's transferred to the village of Sandford in Somerset, where he's partnered with the oafish but well-meaning Constable Danny Butterman (Frost), who dreams of being Mel Gibson. Grisly events begin to take place in the rural village, and it's up to Angel and Butterman to sort it out. From what ive seen in trailors, its to be just as funny and randomly outrageous as pegg's usual work, frost again playing the idiot role which he fills so well... It is due to hit our screens over here next feburary, as soon as ive a date for america (which i hope happens) i'll let you know... However, it is a film about english policing so i'm not so sure what the situation is there... The trailor has lots of guns... in a small rural village... What is there not to like
The NZA Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Alright, im hyped, i just needs a trailer link.

crimsonfire Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I cant wait for the peggster to get back into the english comedy scene. For a while i thought he'd "gone hollywood" when he was in mission impossible 3. You yanks cant have him!

Ganny McVagflaps Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 He's been sullied with the Peggster calls.
the division of joy Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 Empires trailor for hot fuzz just watchin it again. i really really cant wait for this to drop next feburary
Take Me To Your Lizard Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 And we get it before the states! A hundred times our military spending and we still watch Simon Pegg on our screens before you. Regretting that little 'War of Independence' thing now, aren't we?
the division of joy Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 alright, i've seen this a few days ago.. and all i can say is, its probably the funniest thing ive seen in a long, Long time... i'd go as far as to say its better then shaun of the dead....
soldier of fortune Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 From the trailer it looks like a barrel of laughs, might catch it at the weekend. Though i didn't really like shaun of the dead, i do think this has much more potential.
the division of joy Posted February 20, 2007 Author Posted February 20, 2007 its a different kettle of fish to shaun of the dead, the humour is slightly different, but it's just awesome.... i'd reccomend it to anyone...
soldier of fortune Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I'll give it a chance. After picking up Children of Men, and Beerfest on DVD last weekend, i'm banned by Nanno from Picking films for a while, i'll see if i can persuade her to go to this though. It does look funny, bit i liked in the trailer was when pegg was leaping over the fences like Beef or Salmon, then the fat bloke just smashes one of them!
soldier of fortune Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Not her type of film, and to be fair beerfest was shite! I loved Children of Men
The NZA Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Wait, this thing's out, or just over there?
soldier of fortune Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Went to see this last night, Not normally a fan of Pegg's work, but i thought this was very good, very funny!
the division of joy Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 its out over here nick, not sure when its out over there, but i suggest you see it asap when it comes out its fuckin excellent
crimsonfire Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I'll give it a chance. After picking up Children of Men, and Beerfest on DVD last weekend, i'm banned by Nanno from Picking films for a while, i'll see if i can persuade her to go to this though. Children of Men was one of the best movies I've ever seen. Touching, realistic, innovative, excellent performances....that shit should have gotten an Oscar! EDIT: Oh and Hot Fuzz was fuckin great. Not as good as SOTD but still great. I'm recommending it to the tramps on the street cos everyone else is sick of me talkin about it.
The NZA Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Awesome. IMDB says limited realease by April 20th, if jax or someone cant find a showing ill just download it, but im hyped.
Reverend Jax Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I saw a poster for it in the South Beach movie theater, so it's getting some level of advertising campaign.
The NZA Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Well, find out about movie times when you can, these get-togethers dont happen by themselves.
