Iambaytor Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 My brother picked up a series called The IT Crowd there's only been six episodes so far but they've picked it up for more, I've not laughed so hard in some time.
the division of joy Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 man.. i forgot green wing.. that show is gold
Ganny McVagflaps Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 The IT Crowd is great. On the DVD there's an option to view subtitles....in l33t! Have you seen "Father Ted"? If you dig the IT Crowd you'll dig that. Also get some Brass Eye in your life for more IT-Six Degrees stuff. In fact here: just take it... (The lady being interviewed is a famous agony aunt who thinks she's on a real news show)
the division of joy Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 from what i've seen of the IT crowd, its decent.. just been that one show... the nathan barley show is worth checking out as is Q.I hosted by stephen fry oh, blackadder comes to mind as does mr.bean.... the 9 o clock news alistar mcgowans big impression ANYTHING BY ARMANDO IANUCCI!!! SERIOUSLY, THIS MAN IS GODLY!!!
alive she cried Posted January 12, 2007 Author Posted January 12, 2007 Fawlty Towers The Office Ripping Yarns Phoenix Nights The Goon Show (Radio) The Day Today
Iambaytor Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 The IT Crowd is great. On the DVD there's an option to view subtitles....in l33t! FINALLY somebody who appreciates how fucking brilliant this show is. "A plan you say? Perhaps I should put on my slightly larger glasses."
Newtype Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 red dwarf.... Yes Also: Monty Python's Flying Circus Mr.Bean
Ganny McVagflaps Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 FINALLY somebody who appreciates how fucking brilliant this show is. "A plan you say? Perhaps I should put on my slightly larger glasses." The party where Chris Morris (the boss can't remember his name in it for the life of me) is dancing is the best. That man has some moves. The IT Crowd really deserves its own thread.
alive she cried Posted January 12, 2007 Author Posted January 12, 2007 as does a lot of the stuff mentioned here
Ganny McVagflaps Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I'm sure alot of them do. Did you do a search?

alive she cried Posted January 13, 2007 Author Posted January 13, 2007 I'm sure alot of them do. Did you do a search? no. im too lazy, can't remember if this was mentioned yet, The Fast Show
The NZA Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Your poll if fixed (heh), and i need to find out bout this IT crowd apparently.
the division of joy Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 not to mention red dwarf... newtype seems about as gung ho for it as i do, mebbe he has some of it he can give yah
soldier of fortune Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Fawlty Towers all the way for me, brilliant stuff, shame they only ever made like 12/13 episodes. It was hard to call that cos Father Ted has a very special place in my heart, and Monty, and Blackadder. Alas, its a shame i could only vote for one!
Ganny McVagflaps Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 No Steve Coogan or Chris Morris (outside of the IT Crowd) but we get Nevermind the Buzzcocks a "quiz show" for washed up musicians and smug presenters? At least Shooting Stars was funny...
The NZA Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 i just tossed it together with the names spout out on thsi thread. lemme know others & ill add it.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Wait..did you just throw Brass Eye on there or did I somehow miss it before? We needs: The Young Ones Bottom I'm Alan Partridge The League of Gentlemen The Royle Family Top Gear? The Coupling...?
alive she cried Posted January 14, 2007 Author Posted January 14, 2007 No Steve Coogan The Day Today had piles of steve coogan. Also i had alan partridge in original poll don't know why it was taken out also title is "best british comedy series" this can include radio
Ganny McVagflaps Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Shit, I don't know what I was thinking... Who could forget that ballerina/bastard hybred Seve Ballesteros?!? The Partridge radio shows were better than "Knowing Me, Knowing You". I'd slide them in there. Also "On The Hour" was great. Cookd and Bombd has them. Top Gear is a show about cars and doesn't belong, Coupling is a show for twats. Can we agree that much. Also somehow I left Blackadder in the list of stuff that should be taken out...sorry, my bad. That should stay. Shit, I don't know what I was thinking... Who could forget that ballerina/bastard hybred Seve Ballesteros?!? The Partridge radio shows were better than "Knowing Me, Knowing You". The NZA Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 nothing was taken out; you didnt make a poll. i took the names you and DoJ mentioned mostly. He suggested Top Gear, some show my old rooamte dug about cars, so i threw the Couplnig on there to fuck around. When i was in texas, TD & chrpnbrd swore by it, that it was the next Friends or something. i watched an episode, then remembered i wasnt waiting around for the next friends anyway. My bad about Partirdge, i got season 1 a while back and never got around to it. Ill put 2t's suggestions up tho.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I'm happy to see that the "before it went gay" remark about The Royle Family was preserved.
