Anyone comparing Wanted the movie to Wanted the comic is so off-base it's not funny. Do you remember Wesley Gibbons the comic character being a snarky sonofabitch who alternately apologised for everything? No. The first half of the movie is nothing like the fucking comic. I can't comment on the second half because when I started wanting to cry(yes it's a movie and I don't know why it affects me so much, but god. I feel like something fundamentally wrong has been done to my brain that can't be undone) I turned it off. Alana simply being an action movie connisuer dismissed it as a terrible movie and supported me in this action. She's great. You though Baytor. I don't think even Scumachers Batman affected me in such a fashion, and through 2004 Punisher I just kinda held a frozen look of 'that ain't right' and felt as though staying put would make everything end okay. There's some text at the start of the movie, which I didn't read, but Alana did and confirmed some BS about an ancient order of habidasherers. Dunno if I said this before, but that GIbbons Sr death, with the focussing and near-superhuman running and also the 3-part bullet was about one of the coolest things I've seen in cinema in a while, so it's not like I set out to hate this movie. Man you didn't even stick around for rat bombs and cars ramping off of other cars. People who enjoy this movie care about as much about the plot as Englishmen expect the Spanish Inquisition (Read: Not at all) so bitching about the plot in Wanted is a moot point as we all think it's fucking retarded, we just enjoy all the gratuitous violence and the dulcet tones of Morgan Freeman uttering the f-word. It could just be the part of me that doesn't like Die Hard or Lethal Weapon also poo-poos on this action movie from a great height, while the comic dork in me sobs and dry retches from about 3 floors up.
