  1. Old Man Logan came out today, Jazzers. Get on it. There's only one reference to God Emperor Doom.
  2. The Internet says we're finally getting another issue the beginning of June. It's hard not to see Kamandi in it, at least as some base childhood inspiration. Not a bad thing. As someone who only relatively recently went all in and binged on Astro City, I'm glad to see Busiek doing something else that he seems excited about.
  3. I'M ONLY 32, JZA! Jesus fucking Christ, I deal with enough of that shit at home and then I come HERE and... ... I quit.
  4. I think Sue is adopted in this movie. As far as I know they just made that up. I bailed on Ultimate after 20 issues or so, but I don't remember that being a thing.
  5. ^both of those are good I never read the one where he merges with Strange, so I didn't understand the reference. I'm honestly not sure why I even started bothering to read this. Hickman, mayhap? But I haven't read most of his Marvel stuff. Anyway, I'm enjoying it, but it's bittersweet because I love a good alternate universe story and they're acting like I'm not gonna get anymore. Must I lose all hope for another chance at Exiles?
  6. Well, it IS a soap opera. Lots of thing are. Claremont's original X-Men run comes instantly to mind. it's also a pretty good soap opera. The genre is just stigmatized by shit. It's more an observation than an insult. I personally find the human factor in these horror scenarios generally more compelling than the actual spooky monsters anyway. That said...is Romero still up to snuff for this? The last thing I saw that he did was that found footage .. of the Dead movie. I don't remember finding it very good. I did, however, enjoy Land of the Dead much more than the world at large did. I was not aware that this comic book existed. Or, if I saw it around (which is pretty likely) it didn't resonate enough to keep the memory in my permanent storage. So, to recap: Baytor think good, Panch think bad. What bugged you about it, Panch?
  7. Nooo! My beard! My glorious beard! I won't forget this injustice, Nilfgard swine.
  8. I'm not breaking any new ground here, but as far as I'm concerned this is, hands down , the best thing Marvel has ever done. The weak point to for me was in the dialog writing. Far from a deal breaker though.
  9. Upon closer inspection, mine is actually better than yours.
  10. Dammit Nazzler. I know you couldn't have known but... Sorry I have to do this. -1. For stealing another .gif I've been sitting on.
  11. You're on. PUT ALL MY MONEY ON THE WASHINGTON GENERALS! I've got a hot tip...
  12. The hell does Campbell know? He's an actor, and actor's are idiots. He might be a cool actor, but that just makes him king of the idiots. We must learn to accept these things. The humor in Evil Dead is just dark instead of slapstick.
  13. Cloud Atlas has been on my list for a minute now. That one looks incredibly badass to me. I'm a big fan of Tom Tykwer though, so I was kind of biased before I even saw a trailer. And, by the looks of it, 3 hours is really going to be cramming it in. It could have probably used a couple more.
  14. You must like the name quite a bit though. It was just too "ethnic" for you, huh? Had to remove that rasta influence? Whiten it up a bit?
  15. Except the ones who are named after Digimon.
  16. During our company pre-holiday regional meeting, that guy was in a video doing his Denzel impression. Talking about shitty DVD's and cheap stocking stuffers. I wish I had a way to record it, because it's going to be one of those "I can't believe he did that for money" things if he gets famous.
  17. Yeah, the only Nigel I can even think of off the top of my head is from Spinal Tap. Never met one here. I know more Tim's than I can shake a stick at. Actually, that's not true at all. That phrase is stupid, it underestimates my stick-shaking capabilities.
  18. The main difference here is that America in the Ultimate universe has been teetering on the brink of a very real and total collapse in a way that 616 never has. Even the "real" Rogers might change his mind if he were ever dealing with a crises on that level.
