  1. Oh man, I really can't decide who I hated more. I think Dawn has a slight edge for me just because her existence made much less sense than Faith's and felt like sloppy (sloppier) writing.
  2. Tweet from the showrunner of the new show!
  3. Love the sentiment! But he often tells me he doesn’t want it to feel that way. That it should be fair and welcoming to everyone and feel like “our forum” and not his forum. I think it’s really sweet that he wants to be so diplomatic. It’s a shame that means people are seemingly free to do this kind of thing, though. (Just saw he responded before I was done typing!)
  4. This makes me curious. Does Hondos have official rules and regulations? Have you guys ever clearly laid out what are punishable offenses? Like what gets someone warned vs. suspended vs. banned?
  5. Yeah SMG was done with Buffy when she was on Buffy! There were so many stories about her exhaustion from the physical demands of it. I remember hearing an interview with either her or Alyson, I can't remember at the moment, saying Sarah was so worn out, the writers wrote that episode where Buffy's turned into a rat so she could just do voice-overs and not have to fight for a bit (and that was only in season 2!). So yeah, my wish for a cameo is probably a pipe dream. But I would take Alyson any day! Honestly, I'd be happy to see any of them come back for even just a scene or two in the reboot. They probably couldn't play themselves, but it'd still be neat!
  6. I was thinking if they brought Firefly back it would be with anyone from the original cast who's still down! I mean Nathan Fillion keeps busy, but what are the rest of them up to? I imagine many of them would love to come back! And you know even Nathan would participate as much as possible. He loves that fan base!
  7. Well this is an excellent point. I couldn't pinpoint why I was so against this, but that's it. We don't need a new Buffy. We've had two Buffys. I would be down for a new slayer! One who comes into a post-Buffy world, and maybe SMG even stops in to mentor her once in a while. That would be cool! Ugh. Missed opportunity here. I'm still gonna hate-watch the "reboot," though. I can't not. Also, why haven't they considered Firefly? Seems so weird in this reboot era! The fan base is actually clamoring for it!
  8. Haha! Sorry! I was looking through his IMDB and even though I've seen all his horror movies, I couldn't tell you a thing about them without re-reading a wiki page. They're not very memorable. Except for the original Saw. That one felt really new and different at the time. But I can never remember which movie was Insidious and which was the Conjuring. They're not bad! They're okay... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. Yeah they did kinda blow their wad there! And to start with something so upsetting didn't give the summer a good vibe either. Plus the timelines are all wonky and it can be confusing to casual moviegoers!
  10. There’s weird...and then there’s this. That was...something. I give it big props for being different than what we’ve gotten used to. It was very was creative and funny. But it also goes on too long and throws itself off a cliff in that third act. It was just interesting enough for me to be excited and curious about where this director will go from here.
  11. I’m realizing now I don’t like period pieces even if they’re animated. It’s a shame because I love Abbi Jacobson (from Broad City) who does the main gal’s voice. I’d love to support her but the trailer just did nothing for me. ?
  12. Reading his friends posts are tough. Selma makes a good point.
  13. Are there plans for this? I get my movie news here so I’m out of the loop most of the time. Like will he meet up with the JL in a future film? From the trailer here it seemed like there were nods (with the batarang and Supes newspaper), like “hey these people exist in this reality.” I also have a hard time picturing them actually interacting!
  14. Not one single thing about this looks good or interesting to me. James Wan seems to be a weird choice here too. He did what? A handful of okay horror movies and a Fast and the Furious sequel? I guess it might be interesting to see how he handles something like this.
  15. This looks super silly and I’m down for it. Definitely had a more youthful tone, but I think it might work. Zachary Levi has that goofball charm that could help this out. I loved him on Chuck (only saw a season and a half though).
  16. Yessss to Taika. He’d nail the tone of these movies!
  17. Oh god. A couple times I thought it would be fun to go back and read some early Hondos stuff. Yeah... not so fun. I try not to do that anymore because you wanna know and love people as they are now. The early aughts were problematic for a lot of you. I found my Livejournal from around that time as well and was HORRIFIED. I wouldn’t hire that bitch. But I was 19. Like Nick said, James was in his 40s here. I dunno. That seems like needlessly gross stuff just to get a laugh.
  18. Just saw this on twitter, I think it has some not posted here. Why SO MANY pedo jokes? That was like a go-to for this guy. Geez.
  19. Oh James, no. Well that sucks. I mean, the minute you’re hired by Disney, how do you not scour your social media for this shit and delete? He’s made two movies in the time it took someone to dig this up. He never should’ve said this garbage but I’m just always curious why people leave this stuff up.
  20. Wow yeah that was your main complaint (and completely justified). That's awesome news!
