  1. Heh, yeah, then we'd have to have him do a duet with Billy Joel playing the Vulture or somethin'. And you're right, MCD was pretty evil in Planet of the Apes (even when you couldn't really see him under the makeup) but even then they'd give him little moments where you could see he was doubting his actions. Now, I think the guy's a great actor, and can most likely pull it off. I'm just saying, I've yet to see him in a role that required him to be that cold hearted.
  2. ::Gag:: ::Cough:: I still don't see the appeal. Ah well. From what I've heard, though, they're gonna try to do a few "remakes" of classic games for the GameCube...kinda like Capcom did to Resident Evil. And I heard that a couple Zelda games were on the list (Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time, if I'm not mistaken). So, I have those to at least look forward to, if the rumor proves to be true. Now I'm not knocking the whole thing. I like what they did with the graphics. I think the cel-shaded look works really well, and it seems like they've done a great job with the effects. It's just the character design. Most of the characters I've seen look like something out of a bad Don Bluth movie. A BAD Don Bluth movie. They just don't seem as well designed or as thought out as I'm used to from a Zelda game.
  3. And thank god they brought back his sabre-toothed tiger. ...Whatever its name was...
  4. Well, at least they finally got him a new haircut. Now, if only they could make a decent new GI Joe show. My friend has the movie on dvd (I have the Transformers one) and it's hilarious just to go through and watch all the old public service shorts. Heh heh. And my new favorite character is "Snow Job". Heh "Snow Job". It's a good thing I didn't get that, when I was a kid...
  5. My vote would actually go for Transformers. As popular as Speed Racer was, I don't think it ever got to craze status. It was more like cult status. But Transformers became a national craze.
  6. That would be Scarlett Johansson. Mmmm, Scarlett Johansson. Definitely a girl-next-door type. Geez, I wish these girls would be next door to me. All I get is that slutty skinny pink-haired chick who plays her stereo too damn loud.
  7. A startling resemblance, JMT. But then he might start using those arms to try to play the piano and the whole thing will go to shit... As for MCD playing the Kingpin...I dunno. Despite the race difference (which I admit, takes a little time to get past) I think he looks too young for the Kingpin. And not evil enough. MCD has made a living playing "the big guy with the heart of gold", y'know? Armageddon, The Green Mile, The Whole Nine Yards...I thankfully didn't see his role in The Scorpion King, so I can't bring up that role. I'm not sure, yet, if he'll be able to pull off a heartless character like the Kingpin.
  8. Gotta go with JMT, there. You think they could have picked a title that appealed to more than just 9 year old girls. And the movie isn't even made for 9 year old girls. No wonder nobody went and saw it. Damon: Just remember who talked you into doing this shit in the first place. I mean, talking me into Dogma was one thing, but... Affleck: Oh, I'm sorry I pulled you away from whatever gay serial killer who rides horses and likes to play golf touchy-feely movie you're doing this week. Damon: I take it you haven't seen Forces of Nature? Affleck: You're like a child. What have I been telling you? You have to make the safe picture, then you can make the art picture. Then sometimes you have to do the payback picture because a friend says you owe him. ::Pause to look at the camera:: Then sometimes you gotta go back to the well Damon: Yeah, or sometimes you make Reindeer Games. Affleck: See, that's just mean.
  9. Mmm, Thora Birch. Great movie, too. She's certainly grown a lot since she played Jack Ryan's daughter.
  10. Yeah. I don't know if it'll be a big part of the movie, or if it'll just be flashbacks, but they're covering some of it. They've got a kid playing the 12 year old Matt Murdock, and David Keith is his father. And in his oh-so-neccessary cameo, Stan Lee is supposed to play the blind guy that Matt saves from the truck. By the way, what does everyone think of Michael Clarke Duncan playing the Kingpin?
  11. Affleck's rules of role picking. "You're like a child, what have I been telling you? You gotta do the safe movie then you can do the artsy movie. Then, of course, you hafta do the movie because your friend says you owe him."
  12. Considering the information...I'd say Snow Dogs 3 is worse than the Apocalypse. So, hopefully Snow Dogs 2 will bring about the end of the world before we have to suffer the hell-on-earth that would be Snow Dogs 3. Anyway...heh...oh yeah, Daredevil...
  13. I heard they're going through a bit've feud, right now, actually ("Uhoh, looks like the honeymoon's over."). It would be nice if they wrote something, though. I think it's what they're both best at. Damon needs to find himself a role he can win an Oscar for, though. He's a helluvan actor.
  14. 'S cause they kept referencing him in the game. I mean, he even went as "Pliskin" in MSG2. Guess we couldn't help making the unconscious connection.
  15. Heh, Ronin was only great because it spawned Ninja Turtles.
  16. Hey, Fezzic! Are there rocks ahead? Well, if there are, we'll all be dead! Stop that rhyming! I mean it! Anybody wanna peanut?
  17. Dunno. My first instinct is to say Kurt Russell, but I know it's just cause he played Snake Pliskin. He wouldn't be right for this Snake. Hm. Hugh Jackman, maybe.
  18. Well, look at it this way, JMT. If Affleck sucks in the role and nobody likes it, they probably won't continue the series.
  19. Alright, then we misunderstood each other, JMT. I don't wanna see them make the game into a movie, either. It'd be redundant. But I think it might be interesting to see the characters - Snake, Otacon...maybe even that pansy Raiden - in a movie, but with a different story than the games. Like, maybe something set in between Shadow Moses and MGS2. I don't know, I don't care. I just wanna see more Solid Snake. I've always liked the character.
  20. Would Newman and Jerry and George's parents count? Or were they too regular to even be considered "guests"?
  21. Ah yes, Toejam and Earl. Good times, good times. 'Course, I was always a Nintendo fan, so that brings back memories of Battletoads. Yeeeah, Battletoads. They need to make a comeback. I still can't get excited about Zelda. I'm trying. Really. But no matter how good it's looking, I can't get past the design. They turned him into a powerpuff girl!
  22. Actually, it really wasn't Zim's fault it got cancelled. They kept moving the damn thing around. Everytime I tried to watch it, they had moved it to another time. Now I'm lucky to catch one, every now and then. I hafta download most of them. As for Spongebob, I think the squeaky boots episode has become one of my favorites (how many kids would actually get an Edgar Allen Poe reference in a cartoon, anyway?) and the one where Spongebob and Patrick think everyone else is an alien. By the way, did anyone else know that Mr. Crabs is voiced by Clandy Brown? I just found that out...
  23. Yeah, whatever happened to that third book? The first two came out really fast, and then it all seemed to just disappear. I thought #1 was clever, actually (though I hate most of the art, and it looks like Lynn Varley just wanted to play around with Photoshop as much as possible with the coloring) but I hated the second one. For many many reasons. But I, too, am holding out my final judgement until it's finished (hell, I bought the first two, I'm not gonna stop, now). But where the hell is the third book?
  24. A cameo would be great, but unfortunately, it's already been vetoed by the lawyers. The Daredevil series and the Spider-man series (yes, Daredevil is a planned series...they're already working on two more sequels) are being produced by different movie companies, so it's been agreed that the characters can't cross over. They can't even mention each other. In fact, NO characters can cross over. That means that since the Kingpin is in this first Daredevil movie, he'll never be able to be portrayed in a Spider-man movie. Likewise with Joe Pantoliano's character - Ben Ulrich - who actually works at the Daily Bugle with Peter Parker in the comics, but never will in the movies. In fact, he's not even going to be working at The Daily Bugle, because that newspaper name was used in Spider-man. (Sigh) Legal beagles.
