  1. Not even sure how much tickets were way back yonder but don't certain lists adjust the takings based on inflation? I remember reading that Titanic undoubtedly had a bigger audience in terms of the number of people who physically watched it than say Avatar which took in a comparable gross. It seems the price rises in tickets keep pace with the dwindling number of people actually going to a theatre. PS I think the first movie I saw in the cinema was Home Alone 1. Not sure if that should make me feel old or not.
  2. No it's spreading throughout the UK and Europe. I don't if you've heard of an inexplicably awful music contest called the Eurovision? We're entering those in it for the second year running. Here's what their music sounds like: http://youtu.be/6x77sOUQhZU
  3. K what? Not hating them is one thing but having a poster of them... words fail me.
  4. Hence the deplorable 'Avengers Assemble' title it got here. I swear, they were one excalamation mark away from me not going to see it. Not really though
  5. That... that just horrified me. I mean, I felt an aching sadness after watching that.
  6. I'm aware of this but I'll take any opportunity to mention that soundtrack.
  7. This. And also Anthrax on that so-bad-its-good Ghosts of Mars movie. It's thrash-tastic. John Murphy does a lot of soundtracks but Underworld feature on this one so it counts: A 3-minute musical orgasm.
  8. You telling me you wouldn't lash the shit out of the daughter? I make no apologies, not one.
  9. I think we're allowed a few free passes musically. I just unironically claimed I like Lana Del Rey in a different thread. On the other hand Kelly Clarkson is at the less horrible end of the pop spectrum. Not just because she's so very lovely
  10. And finally this mightn't count because it's Mastodon but y'know it's by cartoons n' shit...
  11. I've experienced his hipster-hating rants first hand. I'll look forward to that.
  12. It's a totally a conspiracy. I should have known when I found out the film was part-financed by an alliance of MIddle Eastern restaurant owners.
  13. Hang on. Something has occurred to me. When he listens for Ricks heartbeat has it occurred to anyone that he might have been checking to see if he was dead to alleviate his guilt for what he was about to do anyway? Not entirely sinister as he knows he can't drag Rick, gurney and all, out of a hospital with zombies, trigger happy national guard and general chaos all around. He puts that table in front of the door to give him a fighting chance but his mind seems made up concerning Ricks fate.
  14. What are the chances of Marvel Studios doing a snatch-and-run on a few more errant film options in the near future? I'm not saying they desperately need new blood or anything (they don't need shit except another warehouse to store the obscene amounts of cash they're making) but it would be cool if they drafted in a few more heroes to keep the fanboys salivating.
  15. Suppose I can't argue with that. I still stand by the opinion that he had feelings for Lori before the shit hit the fan and it influenced some of his actions even at that early stage.
  16. I agree with Baytor. He was a slimeball. He was cooking that shit up before the zombie thing even happened from what I've seen in the comics and the show. Maybe not offing Rick but he definitely had a thing for Lori all along.
  17. Not even a little interested in going back to check if this has been discussed yet but why? Why this franchise? Spiderman isn't exactly gracefully maturing in an archive somewhere, ripe for resurrection. This is a series that doesn't need to be rebooted. The first two movies were great, the first of which isn't even a decade old. You can understand when it's something like Hulk where the first incarnation sucked and needed to be swept under the carpet sharpish. The Spiderman movies were good and are still pretty contemporary effects-wise. I'm baffled to say the least.
  18. That dudes a sneaky turd. He did know.
  19. I know it didn't take Harry Knowles to figure that one out but if you'll indulge me... BOO YAH!
  20. Ah I know all this but I stand by the Carl point. He's an eleven year old boy not a set of keys. As for Michonne (I take it spoilers aren't necessary at this point) how badass did that look? Lifted straight from the pages! Right down to her "family." it seems to be dovetailing nicely with the comics. Me gusta.
