  1. You can pick up a set of dumbbells for cheap in any sports store and there's hundreds of things you can do with them. I currently have these ghetto hand-me-down ones I got from my dad. There's an odd number of one of the weight.... disc...things though so they're off balance. Might invest a proper set soon.
  2. I did that one last week, yeah. Wait you can do them more than once? Do you still get the points or are you using it as a guideline routine?
  3. Axel - you think your collections humble? Also a smattering of singles after I caught up with TWD. There's other stuff in there too I'm sure. MAX Fury was fun for a while but I lost interest.
  4. February is way too far away. Sometimes I prefer playing johnny-come-lately with comic book series.
  5. Just the basic ones so far. Ooh you did a whole pushup? Have 17 points, sport!
  6. I hear you. I'm spectacularly shit at keeping focused. I'm always late for everything because I just kind of drift into a dream world with a voice in the back of my head screaming "Don't just stand there you retard! GO!". If I could eliminate the daydreaming at critical moments I could probably take over the world or something.
  7. Good. I expected nothing less than that from Zack. He's a good boy, he is.
  8. Well it seems it's building towards something. The true wonder of this book is it never ceases to surprise me so I'm reluctant to even guess what could happen. You could be right though. Perhaps Negan could become a looming, long-term threat if that's what you mean. That would be a bit of departure though as Kirkman seems to like nicely encapsulated arcs punctuated with periodic rug-pulling.
  9. It copied The Raid pretty much verbatim in parts. I think someone saw this small-fry action flick from some loser country that is known for it's high poverty and corrupt police force moreso than its movies and thought "Ooh what a good idea". Little did they know it would be picked up by a large distributor and gain international acclaim. Dredd was already well underway by that stage so it was too late. That's my theory anyway. You have to admit it, the parallels are too numerous for that not to be the case. That said, both great films in their own right. Edit: Comments about Indonesia are conjectural paraphrasing if that actually means anything.
  10. Negan has got to be the most casually terrifying bad guy I've ever seen in anything, ever. He has a sort of easy-going malevolence that shatters all my preconceptions about -paths, be they socio-, psycho- or otherwise. He doesn't even come off as standard evil. Just the Biggest Dickhead In The Universe. His demise will have to be directly proportionate to just how much of a dick he is. I expect big things.
  11. I literally have no idea what to make of all this. Of all the sequels or reboots they could have done, I expected Star Wars to be waaay down on the list. I'm still a little shell shocked by it all. I'm reserving judgement on whether it's a good or bad thing until more facts are forthcoming. Zack Snyder though. Love the guy and all but... nah.
  12. Bought this yesterday in a sale along with Chronicle and John Carter. 3DTV looks so much more impressive than 3D cinema IMO. Although having to wear my regular glasses underneath the 3D glasses is a distraction.
  13. I remember me and a few other people agreeing that John Carter of Mars would have been a better title. As for the female dollar, I thought bare-chested Taylor Kitsch was enough to get the ladies interested. Sexist, maybe? Seen as a surprising proportion of my female friends go to see movies they wouldn't otherwise be interested in "because there's a hot guy in it", no I don't think it is.
  14. Anyone notice how buggy and inconsistent this thing is? It doesn't update my points sometimes and keeps telling me I haven't done things that I know I have. Fucking infuriating when you've put in actual physical activity in order to earn said points.
  15. I can't remember what I voted as I'm sitting on the toilet in college about to go into an exam but I remember giving John Carter a "they don't see how special you are" vote. Seriously underrated film.
  16. For the record mine still hasn't changed on my end.
  17. Why thank you, m'lady! I'm actually just done being skinny. Vain or not I couldn't give a shit. What guy doesn't look in the mirror once in a while and wish they saw Chris Hemsworth looking back them. There's no shame in it!
  18. Sweet. The cropping is all fucked but I have satisfactorily broadcasted my individuality.
  19. Bleurgh. It's a really cool one and all *bows head and shuffles on the spot*
  20. I'm trying to change my avatar and it keep reverting back to the old one for some reason. Irritating. I have tried turning it on and off again btw.
  21. That was very nice indeed. Surprised I haven't spotted this till now given I'm a Iron Man fanboy of the very worst variety. I'm glad they chose to have Tony be kicked around a bit. The DKR parallels are justified. The glove flying onto his hand makes me very excited that this will indeed be Extremis with a smidgeon of Demon in a Bottle (they obviously couldn't do an entire movie about the latter). Given Ben Kingsleys pedigree there will be a lot of expectation on him to hit the right note with Mandarin. There's the possibility of it going too cartoony and moustache-twirling.
  22. That "live and let live" policy is a good one to live by but sometimes it feels good to just hate on something. You know the feeling where you just can't find enough words to express how much you dislike something. It feels good. Why? Because most humans in the developed world, while being essentially decent people, are assholes. Myself included. Self-serving, self-centered, instant gratification needing, egotistical assholes. I know it's not cool to harass the shit out of people for liking moving images on a screen but most people can tell where the line between harmless jibes and being a dickhead is. It's incredibly hypocritical of me to hate BBT as I like other shows a lot of people would consider abject garbage. The IT Crowd kind of tows the same line and I love that show, for instance. Just to get my jab in: formulaic, irritating characters, infuriating stereotypes, unoriginal humour, Sheldons voice/general appearance, the fact that Penny and her fabulous rack aren't in a show I like and finally a gem I heard from Nick "It's blackface for nerds".
  23. What consoles run Windows anyway? To my knowledge the Xbox has its own custom OS albeit with some Win integration thrown in. The PS3 runs a proprietary OS that is derived from BSD ( a cousin of Linux). Not sure about NIntendo and I'm too proud to Google it but I'm sure they have their own software too.
  24. I was excited enough to see a Linux client for Steam but this is something else entirely. While I'm not a huge gamer these days I still have a keen interest in the consumer tech market. Studying IT has given me all kinds of cool insights into it. It was a no-brainer using Linux as the basis OS for a console. Linux is running under the hood in many devices these days and it's adaptability and reliability should have obvious benefits in a console. It has a simplicity of design that gives it untold power and flexibility. I've been a Nix geek for many a year now and it's nice to see my beloved OS really starting to get it's day in the sun. What are the sales expectations for this? I can't see it approaching PS3 or XBOX level of market share somehow but it seems they're going with standard hardware that can be sourced relatively cheaply which should keep the cost-per-unit down. Be interesting to see what innovations they come up with to set it apart. Valve as a company are kind of batshit in a good way so if anyone is going to shake things up my money will be on them.
