  1. Paul was great and Hot Fuzz was much better than alright. Rev Jax - you trying to covince us or yourself that you'll like it? You probably will. I just didn't like it.
  2. Haku - I'd still go see it. It seems the critics like it and the person I saw it with it liked it so I don't know. I just thought the humour fell flat on its face and it was generally a mess of a film. Bit of a role reversal for Pegg and Frost too which didn't quite work for me.
  3. The Worlds End Given Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were two of the finest comedy films ever to grace my senses this had big shoes to fill from the off. It did not fill them. Even disregarding the other two blood and ice cream trilogy movies utter brilliance this was a very unfunny and clumsy excuse for a comedy. I already had doubts when I saw the trailer but I trusted Pegg, Frost and Wright to do the business. They really fucking didn't. To use Hakus rating system in place of a twelve paragraph tirade: D+
  4. It was fun as hell from start to finish. I went to see it with my fourteen year old cousin and for once I was getting just as excited as him. Near shat myself when they engaged the "elbow rocket". I also need a gif of Idris Elbas reaction to getting his arm grabbed. I think The Wire fans just saw Stringer Bell about to kill a motherfucker for a split second.
  5. Now You See Me Did exactly what it said on the tin. An enjoyable couple of hours but nothing to get excited about. The plot had so much more potential for twisty turny goodness but sadly most of the trickery was swiftly explained by Morgan Freeman within two scenes. They could have had a lot more fun with this if they'd tried.
  6. As someone who didn't hate Origins quite as much as the rest of you, I'm going into this movie with no extremes of expectation. I saw the trailer last night before Now You See Me and it looked good initially then became steadily more "ok I guess" as it went on. I'm almost sure they cut trailers differently for European audiences so maybe it wasn't a good one to judge it on. It just looked a little too cartoony for my liking.
  7. Brolin looks like Neos douchebag older brother who shows up at family events purely to bum money off people. The poster doesn't exactly say "dark and violent revenge thriller" but moreso "arty indie fantasy". Do you think American audiences will accept
  8. Will western audiences have the same enthusiasm I wonder? Japanese kids are practically raised on this stuff whereas it's the preserve of a smallish social group for us whiteys. I, for one, have never been all that into Japanese stuff.
  9. http://collider.com/...end-poster1.jpg This Is The End Not quite the Hollywood badboy backslapping reacharound of a film I thought it was going to be. Was completely fucking stupid but endearingly so. A good waste of a couple of hours with many laughs and a likeable cast. Highlights were:
  10. World War Z I thought it was a really good solid action flick. It was nice to see the zombie genre taken into a global context and a protagonist who is actually important in terms of solving the problem. Not to belittle the survival theme in zombie stuff because I love it. This was just a welcome change of scope. I was a little baffled by the stream of people saying it was "better than expected". Am I the only one who thought it was going to be awesome from day one?
  11. The bit with them on the cross trainers was inspired.
  12. I got ADHD watching that trailer. Also I shit myself. You can almost hear the Japanese kids rejoicing from here...
  13. So I saw Iron Man 3, I enjoyed it but I will say this:
  14. I'll be right back on the Fitocracy buzz after my exams I promise. I plan to take my shirt off in public at least once this summer.
  15. Candy Bacon. Why does this sound so fucking delicious?
  16. I haven't posted in about half a year but you're all nuts. Subforums are where good threads go to die. Less subforums say I!
  17. Or until people stop buying it. Which has me thinking, what could really happen to fuck this book up so much that it becomes financially unviable? If the quality stays more or less consistent its tough to see this story going away for quite some time.
  18. It's in the same vein as Starship Troopers for me in that it has so much nostalgic significance and quirky terribleness that it makes me love it intensely.
  19. Like Haku my priority is movies. I can't abide missing out on a good movie. Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad etc can all wait until I go to prison or something. I study and work a 9-5. There's just not enough time to do everything. I also play certain games in very obsessive spurts. After my exams ill most likely binge on New Vegas because that's my top priority games wise and its just fun. If a game doesnt give me enjoyment and make me want to keep playing once it gets hard i just abandon it. Im notoriously picky with games. I also have a stack of books (the non pictorial kind) I want to read.
  20. Good, I think I need to lift heavier weights and stretch out my legs a bit more. The ones I have do for certain stuff but for shoulder work etc they are light as a feather.
  21. I originally got started reading JZAs copies but when I didn't have access to them I had to buy them myself. Same deal with Transmet.
  22. With my weird postural problems I get all sorts of guff from most exercises. I get clicky shoulders and knees and shit. Not cool. I have to learn to stop chasing the big points and not fuck myself up. Oh and Star maybe you could answer this one. Are dumbbell deadlifts or deadlifts of any type supposed to work your back or legs primarily. I couldn't feel shit in my back but my hamstrings were nicely achey today. Good achey.
