  1. You shut your mouth, Nick. I still watch that show. I'm proud to say I've seen every episode. And I'm impatient for this season to start. I know some of the plots are garbage but the acting isn't half bad and I like catching up with the characters. It's my soap opera. And my diet soda...empty calories for the brain.
  2. Oh fuck, I'm totally off an extra day this week, my love. Is it too early to watch it? We will have a ton of popcorn left over... And I want to introduce the kids to Hocus Pocus.
  3. I went ahead and watched it. It was really informative. And fun. God, I loved this show as a kid. Not as much as some other, I came late to the game being born in 82...but I'm thinking of introducing my son to it this weekend
  4. Is there any info in there that can't be got from watching the He-Man sections of 'The Toys That Made Us'?
  5. I was wondering why I couldn't change mine anymore. I thought maybe I just couldn't find the appropriate place on my profile. I've had the same one for YEARS. I wouln't mind a change. And I don't really care who does it
  6. I wonder if we're looking at some Mid-World, Crimson King stuff coming up
  7. Is anyone else watching this currently? I'm caught up. I am equal parts irritated and intrigued.
  8. Cats of the world, be afeared!
  9. Perhaps because even if you pay for it, you're still subject to ads, thus limiting who might one to pay for it. Also, the interface is crap and the selection is meh at best. I keep it because it complements Netflix.
  10. Well, you know, to address both Jumbie and Jay, I think in order to keep balance, we take the moral pulse of the community as a whole. Take the recent fracas with Drifter. If the new rules had already been in place, was he clearly violating? Ehhhhhh....maybe. It's open for debate. Which we did. We took a vote. We discussed it. I think that's something we should add to policy: the need for discussion and an avoidance of hasty actions. Things often look different after some thought.
  11. I'd say you're definitely overthinking things. Don't think too hard about what to post. At least I don't. Post. If you're respectful, that can shine thru. If you're genuinely curious, that can shine thru. You've never been a jerk that I can recall. You don't attack people or name call. And we're all you're friends, so just post. It's ok to have unpopular opinions as long as you aren't a douche.
  12. I concede your point to a degree. While we never intended it, the fact that we did nothing means we eventually did. Silence gives consent, as it were. I don't find it troubling...just puzzling. I don't see how clear rules will promote and foster diversity. I can certainly see how rules will allow us to do this without being bogged down in douchebaggery though. So, as I said, I don't have a problem with rules. I quite like them. You know I've always been one to promote kindness. Not having to worry about assholes is great. It's really just a questions of semantics and me being pedantic really. Though, going back and reading your post, I seem to be coming up with my own interpretation. And I'm tired so things don't make as much sense as they did. TL;DR: Rules are good. I'm splitting hairs. Though, one question, only vaguely related to rules: How so we get some diversity going? Sometimes you can hear the crickets here.
  13. I can too take a joke! Only problem is, sometimes I don't get the joke. I've got a staircase wit and I'm not very clever, which is why I like puns. They make me feel clever even though they aren't
  14. I wasn't sure how to respond... I didn't know if Ross were being serious or not... But if I ignore the ambiguity of that post and just address yours: I think the policy is fair. It points out that we don't want to tolerate assholes but also means people really really have to screw up to get in trouble. I have no problems with it. Proceed. However...in my opinion...bear with me, I'm trying to articulate this. I am not a fan of chaos and jerkery. Which, let's be honest, was a hallmark of this place back in the day. I don't think that is what we deliberately cultivated, though. I simply think that's what we ended up with. We didn't actively promote Hondo's as a safe space. We had many people with many beliefs. Strong people who were willing to defend those beliefs. Sometimes a bit too zealously. Hondo's was not a place for those weak of heart or persuasions. So, while I have no issue with the rules as presented, I do have to disagree with the principles behind them.
  15. I have Netlifx and Hulu. We've had both for ages. We have Amazon, mostly just because we have a Prime account. I might consider Disney if the total for all streaming services is less than $50.
  16. I have Netflix and Hulu. I tried Sling for a while but I rarely watched it. I'm tempted to pay for another service that offers strictly documentaries though. I was meaning, though, that I don't see how it makes fiscal sense for Disney. I mean, it's going to be a huge outlay of capital to get this up and running for them instead of just letting Netflix handle all the technical crap. Just up your licensing fees. <shrug>
  17. The thought of paying for another service. I mean...it doesn't make fiscal sense, at least to me.
  18. Though, come to think of it, Lorelei was in England. And isn't 16 the age of adulthood in the UK?
  19. I had no idea this was in the works. I'm excited. I never read the comic but I enjoyed both of the movies, though for different reasons and dystopias fascinate me. The future of law enforcement? Oh boy. That's a loaded topic.
  20. I just finished the first episode as well. Nice and creepy. If it's full of references, then I don't see any. I mean, besides the obvious one of the setting. I'd have to ask Ryan. He's got more King knowledge than me. I hope the creep factor continues. I don't think it will end up like Lost. King is generally pretty good about giving explanations, at least in his novels.
