^^OK, I recall the first theory being mentioned and vaguely recall the 2nd. The 2nd was mentioned where? And the 2nd one does tie back more w/ that very first issue where the Culper Ring chick is on the plane w/ that idol.

No, I never said I didn't read the entire series. I read it pretty religiously every month until that clone saga arc. It got kinda boring so I let the issues pile up until the series ended (it wasn't actually that many as I recall) then picked up where I left off and read the series to the end.

I'm too OCD to completely skip issues like that, ya smelly cunt.

You're obviously lady gaga over this series, and have read (into) it more than I, so I won't debate you on the finer points. As someone who read the *ahem* entire series I'm by no means saying it was a bad or disappointing book. I stand by me "meh" feeling on the ending, but I concede to the fact I was a MUCH bigger fan of 355 than Yorrick--still say he was a bit too much of a sensitive 90s douche. And that as a bigger fan of 355 than Yorrick--maybe I was too pissed off about

the handling of 355 to really embrace the Beth situation and overall ending of the book. That was definitely the singular most emotional point of the series for me. I really disagree w/ your statement "she had to go." You said they needed an agenda to fuel their bond. Without an agenda the bond would severe. I say the opposite. The agenda was manufactured for the sake of the bond. There's just as much reason to say Yorrick pursued Beth so he could stay close w/ 355, to keep a reason,an agenda, so she'd be near, so he could be closer to 355 and vice versa.

Really? That's how you percieved that? I always took the relationship between 355 & Yorick as being that of a bodyguard & her charge(admittedly at face value), and I can see where, sure, Yorick at points became disheartened with his quest for Beth and you could point to that & state he stayed on the trek simply to stick with 355, but I'm putting this to you: if at any point there, before say, Japan, Yorick were to turn to 355 and say 'let's forget this quest and go make out', she'd still hold out and either escort him to washington or possibly even push him back onto the Beth path because 1)she's a classy gal and 2) because she has a rigid moral code that I sincerely doubt she'd break for the guy. Honestly, they forged a relationship closer than most people get in this lifetime, and I hate to see it messed with to meet the romantic conventions of some OCD fanboy with odd superstitions regarding fidelity( :D ), and frankly, so would she.

Alright, I withdraw my point regarding your qualifications to judge the series(but it was so nice to be Baytor for a minute), I can also respect your perspective of the series based from a 355 standpoint. I still don't get your point about Yorick though. He's about as 'everyman' as it gets, and by calling him a typical sensetive 90's douche you're pretty much throwing me and a few others here into that same category unless you can actually single out the qualities that merit said title.

But it doesn't. Only someone like Dahmer or Mussolini could stand next to me and maybe call me a pussy, but certainly not Mr-'Cheating is sooo immoral because it makes me eat chocolate and my vagina hurts like a bitch!'-Hakujin.

I don't know about how those guys can not be pussies. But for someone so sensitive over how someone refers to a fictional dude you sure are fast and free w/ vag insults. And now I crave chocolate but there's none in the house. All part of your evil Mussolini-esque plan no doubt. Cunt.

you tell 'im, steve-dave! give em hell for mike!

yeah, skeet said a lot of that better. i too am taken aback by the "sensitive d-bag" thing, ive read enough vertigo/indie to see a ton of examples of that, Yorrick was a smart-ass who was using his humor/thoughtless quest to not focus on losing his family, way of life, basically entire world. its not quite walking dead, but its still post-apocalyptic event, and if that's what he needs to get by, it works, you know? again, book was strongest for me when they showed how much of a (useful) facade this had become, and he started to move past a bit've it.

now, i dont know that 355 had to die, but i know she did and i didnt see it coming and it was fucking gut-wrenching. the jump from beth going over to hero was a bit, granted, i guess i didnt focus on it again after being torn up enough with the burying of ampersand and yorrick's final decition. skeet caught that beth was trying to let the dude down long before i did, but as the quest went on, it did seem to be more desperation for a piece of his old life than a genuine desire to have her back, its weird how that makes me think of the ending of Braid. anyway.

I'm not defending the guy, just asking for you to cite an example or two of your opinion. And yeah, regarding the cheating thing I'll say it 12 times before breakfast- you're a goddamned big girl! And best of luck on the chocolate front, bitch.

Went to the market *insert success kid pic* bought rocky road ice cream...and chocolate chip brownie cookies! As for examples of Y's douchebaggery, I'd think someone such as yourself would need none other than the fact he spent years fapfapfap'n away in his room w/ his monkey when he could basically have any slice of minge he desired. I already said I wasn't as into the series as you so I can't get more specific than that. It's just a general feeling I took away about his character from the series as a whole.

... I don't get you at all. I get at this point we're talking less about Y so much as I really want you to fill my ear on where cheating sits in the despicable scale, somehow is absolved instantly by a near-apocalypse. I guess we should take this back to the cheating thread.

Not seeing any specials on the series, but it's worth it so far. Up to issue 8 and Hungry for more. (also read first issue of Preacher and shit.. Now the board as a whole makes more sense and is more awesome than before.)

I'm at issue 15 now. Pretty awesome so far!

The astronauts landed, and of course the only one who survives is the pregnant chick. In that situation, fuck the chick. Oh you guys already took care of that I see. I bet it's a girl.

On the other hand... Though I couldn't really see Aarty exploring space, that's someone's wife (potentially). Someone's daughter. And one of the astronauts' unborn kid.

Back in 2010 I started reading Y, but fell off somewhere in the middle of the series for reasons I can't remember. Now that I have a tablet, I uploaded the entire series and sat through from beginning to end in about a week. I absolutely loved this story and its characters. The Yorick-Ampersand dynamic is just the best!

I love how Yorick is introduced and how his story ends. When we first meet Yorick, he appears hanging upside down in a strait jacket, practicing the art of escaping. Throughout the series many jokes are made about his trade, but really Yorick takes it all in stride. In the end however, joke's on everyone - he finally escapes the strait jacket. Freedom at last.

Beth/Hero hooking up didn't bother me as much as losing 355... that was just killeeerrr.... I wonder what her real name was...

Ampersand, oh dear Ampersand. I love that little guy so much! The most memorable quotes for me all involve him. I mourned with Yorick at the end for Amp... he was just the perfect sidekick and friend, except when his flinging poop everywhere... -.-

Can't help it, always cracks me up!!!drmann.jpg

Best reunion everr!

FIrstly: damn you to hell for making me go back and read #60 and the particular... loss. I hate feelings feedback.

Secondly, it was a waste of time anyways because it wasn't there, but I'm positive somewhere in that series is 355's real name. I recall it being

Sarah

. But lemme check my facts and get back to you. Brilliant book regardless.

...just finished the series. I agree with Sen's thoughts.

I thought for a long time it would end that he committed suicide. Reunion with Beth was interesting, but great twist. Even before he got to her I was thinking he should shack up with 355. It looked to me like she WAS cloned at the beginning of #60...
