Cloud & Aeris was tragic, Cloud & Tifa was cool cause a buxom kickboxing bartending chick is the best, and you can actually get them to in the game (off-scene) which we all know is the point of RPG romance. The motherfucker goes after her....in SPACE! This is hardcore man, it's not like, "oh, she got ejected, what a tragedy, let's go fight this meteor." it was more like, "space? fuck space? I can eat space's face off and pour rubbing alcohol on the meaty underside." Then a lot of people forgot the video at the end of the game. Alot of people didn't sit through those credits, and in doing so missed one of the greatest lead ups to after-party sex. Well, I mean, you didn't see it but come on...floating school, hovering over the sea, Rinoa in a slammin' dress, Squall....not changed at all just that he smiles more. It's true that there really wasn't a main villain to focus all the anger on. And that gave way for their lovestory to really stand out. Lulu was the hottest of them all, but she married Wakka and is carrying his child in FFX-2. That just wasn't cool, I gave her more credit before I saw that shit. She should have ended up with Vincent from FF7. Eventhough completely different games, their bad ass love would have rivaled Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson. I'm done here. Squall and Rinoa. The NZA Posted June 1, 2005 Share Posted June 1, 2005 The camcorder ending video was god, but...still, too forced; they setup Squall to be Cloud-like, like he's this badass that doesnt give a fuck bout anyone else, and at some point, pulls an arbitrary 180 that i never really bought, but then again, i thought the charactierization of FF VIII on the whole was weak - poor Quistis had no reason to exist after 2 hours of gameplay, and i still dont know who the fuck Selphie was. Cloud went on the date with Tifa (presumably cause i was "nicest" to her, i.e. she was in the active party the most....props if you got Yuffie, much less the rumor of Barret). By the game's end, there's this part right before you go to the last stage where everyone goes home for the night or something, but Cloud spends the night with Tifa on the wing of the Highwind, i believe. Next morning, Barrett or Cid or someone makes a comment that they "saw everything" and Tifa gets really embarassed, runs off screen & such. Actually I think that happens in the game no matter what the result of the date is. She's always slightly embarassed but she can go pretty batshit, and under those cricumstances ya banged her. I voted for Cecil and Rosa, why? Because unlike every other goddamn game there was no real romantic tension between the two, they were already lovers when the game began. And, hell the whole Kain angle made things interesting.
