1. I would like a straight up 'robot'...and they drop the obligatory gimmick altogether. It'd be cool - if we knew straight-up...right from the get-go, that this thing can be killed...just like Arnie. But just like Arnie - goooood fuckin' luck trying to beat the shit outta him! I'd like it to be like the first movie - the villain retreats, heals...strategizes...stocks up. I think if you give him some outright, (at this point) obligatory super-power thingie (fire) - it's just an eye-rolling matter of time before they introduce the obvious kryptonite (water) and we're all just waiting for the fire-monster to fall into the water-trap. I think it's a bit more engaging if it's like, 'Dammit! Fucking die already!' after suffering insane amounts of damage. Arnie survives all kinds of gimmicks - just being a 'robot' - be kinda cool to see an equally murderous machine (maybe w/ 'stronger metal and cpu power'), w/ the same kind of...incredible 'will to survive' and Terminate. It's more exciting when the villain is simply just 'that bad-ass'... Not too gripping when you're just waiting for him to inevitably walk over a puddle...the only thing that can kill it...but, it'll prolly be just that. It's gotta be bigger and louder. A simple killer robot as a villain is kinda lame for an epic blockbuster. T6's gimmick is that he's psychic, poops nuclear bombs...and has the ability to instantly post on social media. ^ I'm guessing a 'John' isn't born in this timeline...it's a 'Jane'. Pre-tty fuckin' keeew. If that's wutz goin' on - I love it. Lotta scars(?) there...
2. I love TNG - I really enjoy it. Not every episode is a gripping winner (95% are) - but, it's TOS and TNG for me, all the way. I haven't gotten into Discovery - but from what I've heard...it's not so good. Prolly why they're going back to this 'classic' setting? I'd love to see the 'Further Adventures of Picard'...I think most would. I think we'll definitely get classic cameos: the return of Number One...most certainly Giordi - prolly the most iconic visually...other than Data - but I hope they don't touch Data. Even if they plaster the actor w/ cg and get him all young like Stark / Downey Jr. in that one Marvel movie (Civil War?) I think it'd destroy the mystique of the character...ah dunno, maybe. I'd say don't do it. I'll take the colorful, grounded, low-tech approach to Trek to the murky, 'splosion-fest insanity I've seen in clips of Discovery. I hope the tone is somewhat consistant w/ what was. Dude is 78 - I hope getting back into the grind of making a tv show doesn't kill him. I hope he'll be doing a lot of sitting. He could do a lot in that chair and in close ups.
3. Jim Carrey as fuckin' ROBOTNIK??? LOL - what in the hell?! Live-action / cg hybrid? Hey, I don't - I don't any more selling points on this movie. I am so onboard. Not 'Patrick Stewart as Prof. X' - perfect...that would be DeVito - but, Jim Carrey was fuckin' great as the Grinch - I'd love to see that over-the-top, cartoonish performance in a fat suit. A live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie...what is happening?! What year is this?!
4. ^ I don't get it - is this a reboot? Sequel? What's goin' on here?
5. For me, the real stars are the Looney Tunes - everyone else are just props.
6. WHOOOA! Sweeeet! Excellent! Thanks for the heads up - will be watching tonite. Love 80s He-Man. Love that universe - still hoping for that 'dark reboot' actually gets off the ground.
7. LOL - it got to the point where I'd actually stop...remove a hand from the controller - so that I could actually flip off the sparkly-circle. I'd hit it w/ an audible 'Fuuuuck yoooou' - and then speed off. My luck - Mania is bolted w/ THE Bonus Stage I hate. LOL - fuck... But - yeah, Bonus Stages on a rotation would've been awesome! Maybe - each Act could have it's own type of Bonus Stage? I sooo prefer the half pipes - (you should seriously see a doctor) - and the kinda ones, that you're running - chasing after something...like when you're going for a Chaos Emerald. I like how Plus added these cool kinda mini-games... ^ This kinda variety would've been great. I really lamented the dropping of the "potential-ball" when it concerned Bonus Stages. Not a deal-breaker, in the least - BUT I feel it - as go for 100% (Looks over at Pro Controller...still charging) You have any interest in going for Chaos Emeralds? Has anybody gotten 'em all? I'd bet the majority of people just youtube'd the true ending / Chaos Emerald locations and saved themselves the grief. Pro Tip (at no charge): You're doing it wrong. If they re-work the Bonus Stage concept (get imaginative - make it actually feel rewarding you got enough Rings to activate the sparkly-circle-thingie...and even more rewarding for completing the mini level-reprieve) and really encouraged post-game stuff (scouring / replaying levels for alternate routes and make Emerald-hunting just feel...obligatory...in a fun-sense) - Sonic Mania 2 could really be something special and something you don't wanna put down...even after 'beating it'.
I still haven't figured out spoilers...
8. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/x-men-movie-dark-phoenixs-release-date-delayed-aft/1100-6462147/ DARK PHOENIX DELAYED AFTER FIRST FIRST TRAILER DROPS ^ DID YOU KNOW? Last Stand was 12 years ago...
9. Kay - the 'deal' was actually on Amazon itself! Looks like they just simply dropped their price. Amazon officially has this on 'sale' for $101.61
10. ^ Has 'spoilers' changed? I can't seem to do it - and I can't find the FAQ - LOL!
11. Alright - I 'beat' this thing. KINDA - worth the wait? It's Sonic the Hedgehog - back when it was fun. Nooo - tryin' to reinvent the wheel, here. SOLID Classic Sonic - and that's all anyone could hope for.
Great graphics, great music, great...level design. I was severely disappointed w/ the Bonus Stages...and by Stages - I mean, the ONE Stage. LOL - I just stopped jumping into the sparkly-rings that appear over checkpoints when you have enough Rings...just not fun. I did SEVERAL - but, like, 9 /10 times - I'd fail. It eventually became a disappointing annoyance I'd chose to ignore - seeing the same, lame, frustrating Bonus Stage...my brain was like, 'All this attention to detail - and obvious labor of love...and this was 'THE BEST' Bonus Stage choice / creative decision on how to handle Bonus Stages? Sonic 2's tunnel run was great - I'd even take the Pinball one from Sonic 1 - hell, I'd accept having to deal w/ THIS Bonus Stage if it was like, on a rotation - y'know? Like - several types of BONUS Stages are available - but, ya don't know which BONUS Stage you gonna get. This was a giant misstep for me. Replay could've been super-awesome. Another issue I have is collecting Chaos Emeralds. Post-game, that's wutz ur gonna b shootin' fer - BUT, there are MORE Levels than Chaos Emeralds...the Level-Select doesn't tell you which stages you've collected an Emerald in - OR if an Emerald is even IN a particular Stage. I'm the '100% Complete' gamer - this issue is prolly unique to a minority - but, I'm that type...so this shit bugs me. I'm eventually gonna go for all the Chaos Emeralds - but, I dread having to replay stages, collecting rings and crossing my fingers hoping an Emerald is in that particular stage. WORSE - is if too much time has passed - and I don't remember which stages I already collected Chaos Emeralds in! Having to contend w/ that horrid default BONUS STAGE...going for 100% (sigh) Not exactly incentivizing replay. LOL - just on my first playthrough - I'd already grown to hate this... ^ not JUST because of outright not-fun challenge / difficulty - but, what a missed opportunity for bad-ass, unique, rewarding, fun BONUS Stages (plural). The only alt. BONUS Stage I encountered was when I obviously hit a Chaos Emerald...the rest of the 'BONUS' experience was - 'this again - really?' and 'Oh, look - I boxed myself in...' I just stopped doin' 'em. Overall, great stage design - w/ sum cruel, uneven difficulty spikes w/ bosses - and the last Level was fuckin' BRUTAL. Had to leave it alone for a few hours - totally killed the fun-momentum for me. LOL - that last level was just like, horribly unnecessary padding - for an otherwise fun-as-fuck stage-fest...w/ killer tune-age. Overall - yeah, I'd say this is a required purchase for Sonic fans. If you're the type to play games once and have no interest in ever going back to a game you've already 'beaten' - you'd prolly get more fun outta this - - I'm a completionist - so replay is fuckin' huge for me. Sonic Mania could've been a 'I can't put it down' - but, it didn't get there for me - in the 'replay' dept. I'm in the middle of Encore Mode...it's alright. Switch-able characters is interesting. I'm looking forward to a sequel. I do want more of this stuff - but, it really needs sum fresh concepts...game design-wise. (multiple Bonus Stages - maybe changing characters on the fly, a structured post-game...game) Again, I am going for 100%, I wanna unlock everything - and have no intention on using the google for Emerald locations...and I knooow it's gonna hurt. I'll be back w/ pics when this has been accomplished.
12. McDs was (is) celebrating 50 years of the Big Mac. They have this thing - where if you buy a Big Mac, you get a FREE collectible, commemorative 50th Anniversary coin! There are 5 different kinds...one for each decade. COOL! What's even cooler - is that you can 'redeem' these 'FREE' coins right back - for a FREE Big Mac! I tried to 'catch 'em all' - I only managed to get the 60's, 80s and 90s ones...and fuck-ton of duplicates...the McDs 'round these parts ran out of coins, but they said to check back. Coins are redeemable up until December. (shrugs) Just a heads up. Next time you're at McDs - might be worth askin' if they got any coins left - get a lil' sumthin'-sumthin' to commemorate 50 years of - (gasps) FUUUCK...! My heart...! BUT - why? Wh-whhhyyyy....?!
13. Ack-ack...ACK...AAACK!!! My niece-in-law went to the Rembrandt Museum in the Netherlands - brought me back sum swag... ^ An "official" old skoo' calligraphy pen - ? LOL - a bottle of ink...sum postcards...stickers. (I collect stickers, too...I dare not even begin to open that can of worms...) Pretty nice.
14. I don't remember it being so damn hard. I 'Game Over'd like, 3 freakin' times in a row (full runs) on the elevator / lift level...could be the last or next-to-last level. Soul crushing. I question my skills - but I know that can't be the case. I'm gonna try again w/ a partner...I went solo. I'll going for it this weekend... Did a quick google search - no word if it's coming to Switch...
15. I read it's a PS4 exclusive? WTF?! W/ Castlevania-Mania (I just made that up - patent-pending) about to hit the Switch HARD - w/ Simon Belmont and Richter in Smash Bros come December (just 2 freakin' months from now) - you'd think Konami would open it up...and place their product in a position that would maximize dough take-age. Why lock out Nintendo...at THIS time? With THIS game?
16. OOOH SHIIIIT! Ugh - I can't touch this game, tho - not until I re-beat the original 3. Every attempt I've made in the past year just to beat the FIRST game - have ended in utter, shameful failure...
17. Of the 3 - the one that will be the 'least bad' - will be Venom. Aquaman is going to be another sensory-numbing fx-fest. Phoenix is gonna be a snore-fest. Venom is gonna be a wholly character-driven...WHATEVER it is. It's gonna be focused on one dude...in a somewhat relevant setting...smaller scale. Good or bad - I think the character one, is gonna be the most interesting / the one you'd get the most entertainment-value from - like a horrible train-wreck you can't pull your eyes away from....as opposed to falling asleep - or having your brain being blasted by the world ending...again. I ain't interested in watching any of 'em, tho.
18. Yikes. Think I just watched the X-Men film franchise...not get picked up for another season.
19. Sweet! I love that they're hearkening back to Mr. Addams' original artwork... Voice cast? Eh... I honestly couldn't care less. Not really any distinct voices...that jump out as a match for any particular personalities...just...celebrity names, to me - same w/ the Ducktales voice cast. I'll be judging on performance - which, I'm sure will be alright...they're not really doing impressions - nothing really iconic they're gonna be pressed against: these are gonna be their own...just hopin' it has solid direction. I'm freakin' pumped for this! I'm in the 'I'm glad it's animated' camp. I hope it has a live-action aesthetic...like the Lego Movies and Peanuts. That promo pic has got sum sort of 2D photoshop uncanny valley thing goin' on...I already bought this on blu, tho. I got the whole live-action 60s series on DVD - I love that series hard. Big Addams Family fan - not so much the 90s tv one...you people are weird. Maybe I need to revisit it - but, I'm sure you guys are incorrect. Man, now I want the old Hanna-Barbera 60s toon series...pretty sure it's available on DVD...think it's a print-on-demand thing. (Does quick google search)
20. I'm not into sports - or sports games - AT ALL - but the cartoony / arcade-y kind...like, 'NBA Jam'..."I can dig it." MUTANT LEAGUE!!! Blast from the past! Arriving October 30th...
21. I've been hearing that this game is the new Arkham: all-around excellent-sauce. That means an eventual 'Game of the Year Edition' - w/ all DLC, plus double-dip fuel: potential all-new additional content. I've seen some cutscenes - it looks crazy-stunning...reminds me of LA Noire - that level of realism. Glad to hear the gameplay is solid. Whenever I get around to a PS4 - I know a game I'll be excited to finally play... I'm sure the symbiote suit is inevitable - I'm still hoping for the 80s tv suit... The Raimi outfit would be super-sweet...I saw a vid w/ all the unlockable costumes. No 'Amazing Bag-Man'...?! Will be eagerly awaiting costume-updates...
