  1. Thanks, man! I'll be back down there soon - we all gotta meet up again. Padme was like, 'Are you guys gonna see Jared again?' You guys were among the few 'cool adults' she's met. Totally left an impression. Thumbs up. Dude - I say look into investing in a case w/ a fan before summer, then. As soon as you start to get your comfty on and sit w/ sum simple SNES goodness - that 'overheating' thingie will pop up...and - without a 'fix' on-hand - you WILL be like: LOL - curious if any other Raspberry Pi owners experience overheating issues. Maybe my settings were bad? Are heat sinks and a fan standard bits in building one for gaming? All the building vids I've seen - have all been like, "Well, if you want one...sure - get one (case w/ fan)." The hardest I'm pushing it - is 80s / 90s Arcade stuff. Not doing any N64 or PSX stuffs...but, even on NES - that fucker got hot! Raspberry Pi has a built-in Wifi-thingie. I connected it to the net and did sum system updates a couple of days ago. Lotta new features n' fixes. It also lets you download n' install sum pretty sweet menu themes. Browsing through your games libraries can be the shit. Really got to know the lil machine this past week. It can get hardcore - have lil thumbnail video previews playing for each game...it really can get elaborate. I just stuck w/ that first theme up there...(I dig seeing the console and cartridges as I scroll through systems) but, it's sick the kinda ways you can personalize the menus / browsing experience. Sum are a bit too complex for my brain to rig...basic computer lingo is totally foreign to me - but sum insane options. Maybe in time. "Fascinating device, this...video unit."
  2. Really interested in seeing the Mysterio get-up.
  3. Yep - Cabbage Patch Kids were ginormous, too. Yeah, they could get away spilling into the 90s a bit - that whole Power Ranges craze - 'member how hot those figures were for a while? Early / mid-90s - but, it was totally a thing. Beanie Babies... The trick is - I guess, picking stuff w/ interesting 'Did You Know'-kinda backstories / fates... A whole 80s film-franchise licensed-toy line episode would be greatness. Get sum REAL Ghostbusters in there!
  4. So - HUGE thanx to Vagrant and NZA - I've been loving my Raspberry Pi, got everything I wanted on there and has absolutely been enjoyed. What I didn't expect was the 'over-heating' issue. It gets hot! Like, just playing NES for 45 minutes - a lil 'thermometer icon' pops up in the upper right hand corner of the screen...and the device, physically... gets freakin' hot! In my research, 'over-heating' is a controversial issue w/ the Raspberry Pi. Conclusions range from: Not an issue - just adjust OS settings to lower the 'thinking power'...to - it being an utter design flaw. It overheats even w/ "top notch" 'heat sinks' installed - and all kinds of twerks applied to the OS. A fan is absolutely required. My Raspberry Pi was contained in a simple plastic case w/ no heat sinks. Not knowing what to do - I just let things be, but it would always still inevitably 'overheat'. I eventually resorted to placing a little portable fan I got - n' aimed it at the Raspberry Pi when I played, which...totally 'fixed' the 'overheating' issue. LOL - it just looked horribly unsexy: I gotta bust out the extension cord...n' set up a fan aimed at a tiny lil thingie on the floor - no bigger than a wallet... Last week, I finally said, 'fuck it' - I ordered a Raspberry Pi case w/ a fan...just 2 freakin' bucks! It got here this weekend. It's an acrylic case. I just removed the Raspberry Pi (a circuit board w/ ports) from the ol' plastic shell (on the left) and placed it in the new case (right). Still can't believe how freakin' tiny the whole damn thing is! Not as sexy / all-contained...w/ sum bits being exposed - which, I guess is for proper ventilation - but, a pretty simple / solid fix and totally super-cheap - and it does feel pretty damn sound. To be extra sure - I stuck 2 heat sinks in there. Immediately played for 7 hours straight: 'Overheating' is officially a thing of the past and the fan is damn-near noiseless. Barely a hum. Spent the entire weekend pushing, sorting and customizing Retropie...including the massive ROM library, NZA donated. "ENOUGH - w/ the sports games!" LOL!!!! My weapon of choice when playing 'Homebrew' on Wii has always been the Classic Controller Pro... I've been looking into seeing if there are ways to con-jigger one to work w/ a Raspberry Pi - (that Wii controller isn't USB - it's gotta be connected to a Wiimote to work) - I found this: ^ 12 bucks. I've seen plenty of reviews - it takes all those unique Wii controllers that hafta be connected to a Wiimote - and makes 'em USB-able. I've seen 'em test this w/ NES n' SNES Classic controllers (that come w/ the Mini / Classic consoles) - totally works. Yeah, there are already NES and SNES-like controllers that are already USB outta-the-box - but, I ain't ever seen a USB outta-the-box version of a Wii Classic Controller Pro. Already having an NES Classic Controller - bonus investment, when I wanna switch it up. I got a few generic USB controllers - but, that Classic Controller Pro is super-light weight, responsive - great button placement - gotz dem handgrips...my fav controller for 'retro gaming' n' precision platforming.
  5. More episodes coming May 25! LEGO, Transformers, Hello Kitty and Star Trek. Also, Season 2 confirmed and on it's way!
  6. TLJ was the very first Star Wars flick I had no interest in purchasing / owning or ever seeing again. I felt that disconnected from it. Same w/ Homecoming. Just felt specifically aimed 'not at me'. Call me 'entitled'...whatever - it's undeniably a different kind of Star Wars...and not in a 'Rogue One' way. It was like - The one thing I was waiting for in TFA - was Luke. I felt absolutely cheated at the end of that film...after all the hype. If 'dashing all expectations' was the end-all mission statement concerning any creative decision-making w/ TLJ...massive failure in execution. It's easy to make left turns - it's harder to pull 'em off. Luke deserved much better. That character-change needed much more hand-holding in regard to explaining that massive shift in character. Much more TLC was required...we're just told: he's a coward now. "I got skeered...so I tried to kill my nephew, then I subsequently hid as the galaxy burned...oh, and the Jedi suck now." It's such a leap - in both character and in-universe logic. It wasn't interestingly done - again, we're just told: Luke sucks now. (shrugs) "Listen: Eh - people fuck up." Luke has inherent flaws they could've worked w/ - a shame they break a Legacy character (and of all Legacy characters, arguably the most important / impactful one in this IP) w/ such a sloppy out-of-character 'message'. I mean, in the end - R2 (playing Leia's plea for help) reminds Luke there's an entire Trilogy centered around him...and brings Luke back. Luke is a straight-up coward - who thinks the Jedi must end. LOL - wtf am I watching...?! Now that I think about it, it would've worked for Solo. After the Happy Ending of ROTJ - he walks out on Leia, his unborn son, the Rebel cause and his friends for - - that fits HIS character...not Luke. Too bad this Trilogy is being ad-libbed - a properly cooked Sequel Trilogy could've given birth to an all-new Star Wars - that truly could've been something special n' different...'specially having the OT stars involved. Sux the powers that be can't see past TIE Fighters and Death Stars. ^ whoever said, 'no' to this - as a fundamental starting point in a Sequel Trilogy...is a genius.
  7. Maybe the details are already out somewhere, but - I bet this series will be what launches Disney's Netflix / streaming service. I'm...sooo - not interested - in Disney's post-Return of the Jedi-world...but, if Favreau can make something special w/ the Star Wars IP - great! BUT - I see sooo many strings attached to this whole venture. Theme park tie-ins, merch, Sequel Trilogy retcons (we know they're coming - c'mon), spin-offs...Disney... This could solidify the 'garbage' status of the Disney-era of Star Wars for sum fans...or totally save it - a'la 'Clone Wars'. Down for Ewan Kenobi film.
  8. Key and Peele guy is outta place. Automatically brings the whole thing down to 'Jurassic World' levels, for me. Ah dunno. The concept of 'upgrading' on every planet works for me. In the grand scheme of being the 'Ultimate Hunter' - kinda makes sense to like, eat your enemy's brain? Y'know - consume their soul / DNA...gain their strengths / attributes...becoming better / stronger? BUT - how do you share the hybrid-gains of a hunt w/ an entire species? Shouldn't they have BEEN gotten human DNA already? In the first movie, it's stated that Predators regularly hunt on Earth. Predators are pretty well established as 'trophy hunters'...it's all about the hunt...looking to assimilate Danny Glover's killer stache genome into the collective feels...weird. Could just be just trailer 'buzz words'...could be referring to a bigger plot / danger presented by these specific Predators.
  9. Duuuuuude - I got the issue right before that! - #128
  10. 20 bucks a year to use their online servers is fine...the smartphone app is dookie...so is paying for the ability to back up your save. Only thing I'm interested in - is online play w/ sum classic titles. These are all First Party. The NES has very, very few couch-coop games... Ice Climbers...Balloon Fight...Dr. Mario? Um, kaaaaay... The rest that I'm seeing here is really turn-based coop...Super Mario Bros 3...Donkey Kong. Guessing Zelda will be all about Leaderboards? I want shit like Online NES Contra! I'll say it: Online NES Rescue Rangers! Maybe when the SNES shows up - the service could explode w/ online coop beat-em-ups? Like Turtles in Time...Final Fight...(sigh) we'll never get those. What the fuck are they doing? This isn't really exciting.
  11. Busted out the ol' original XBOX - and just finished 'Vice City'. Had an itch to go through all my widescreen XBOX games - got stuck on Vice City. Holy hell - was it painful to get back into / play. No free-moving camera, gun fights / aiming is dookie...awful clunky-as-hell controls...just utterly cheap deaths / mission failures / 'WASTED's galore - and hooked all the way through, just like back in the day. LOL Solid cutscene animation n' voice acting...I love the art style. I've always preferred this game's pseudo-cartoony aesthetic to the ultra-real of the future titles. It's a perfectly functional game - just has horribly, dreadfully aged mechanics. My mind risked breaking every time I died in an extremely simple gun fight...or accidentally drowned getting off / getting on a boat...(you can't swim - water equals death) This game would shine if remastered n' upgraded w/ the modern conventions of the current stuff - like what Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes did. I'm a dunce when it comes to PC mod stuff - I'm sure someone's already been done that, years ago...but, it's a shame Vice City sits under a pile of dust in the Age of HD Remasters.
  12. I'm pretty surprised at the kinda ports Switch has been getting. I really wouldn't put it totally out of the realm of possibility that Switch could get Spidey...but, yeah - wouldn't hold my breath. With swinging - I'd rather, like: I'm 'bout to hit a building...I'd like to hold a button if I wanna run up or along the side of it - n' keep that swing momentum. Keep moving. See, sometimes - I just wanna hit a building, kill my momentum and drop down it's side...or face-plant and just stick / cling to the building. OR just slam into it and just...keep holding on to my web...and just hang there like dead weight. AUTO-RUN...on contact? I say it should be - - put it in the hands of the player.
  13. Reminds me of those new (not so new, now) Mickey Mouse shorts. It'd be nice if these were on the physical release of Sonic Mania Plus as like, Bonus material...them being so short. Hell, I'd throw down 5 bucks to add these Sonic shorts in 'Complete Series' form to my cartoon library / collection.
  14. I generally stick to the 'entertainment' stuff on here...I guess the 'penis' oriented stuff. I'm more passionate about that stuff than I am about politics or religion...or sjw stuff. (shrugs) that's were you'll find me. I really enjoy reading the threads and discussing fiction / fantasy stuff with other fans / members...and telling them how wrong they are. People wanna delete Apu from the Simpsons...shiiit, they need to delete 'The Last Jedi' from the official canon! I mean - am I right?
