  1. Yeah - Luigi's Mansion was / is great. That and Rogue Squadron were excellent GC launch titles that absolutely totally hold up and can still impress. Luigi's Mansion's light effects and character models...that game was visually solid. A different kinda 'Mario game' - but a daaamn shame it took so daaamn long to do something again w/ the concept (Dark Moon). Being a scaredy-pants Ghostbuster just - somehow fits Luigi. LOL (shrugs) I really dig it. I already own and have played LM to freakin' death - I'll eventually get this 'updated' version, but I can totally wait for a price-drop for the novelty of playing again in 3D.
  2. 20 minutes of trailers?! Jeebus! I'm already exhausted...that's a long-ass time to be bombarded by forced intensity. But - this is THE Super Bowl of movies. I can only imagine what kinda stuff is goin' on 'behind-the-scenes' in regard to getting 'a spot' before Infinity War.
  3. ^ 'Bout damn time! 'Mighty Max' on DVD! Make it happen!
  4. LOL - I actually think they're gonna address that...AAAND it will be, 'I was raised by a T-800.' "He had information about the future. Including bleeding edge, state-of-the-art preventive care..." "How do you prevent -" "- Raised. By. A. T-800."
  5. I'm assuming the dying of breast cancer is a reference to the 'Sarah Conner Chronicles'...? I've never seen that. I think that was...an alternate / what-if kinda thing? I've never seen an episode. In the movie series proper - she died of leukemia shortly after T2. She's dead by T3. In T3, John and 'Arnold' visit her grave - and it turns out to be a weapons cache. She had been cremated and filled her 'tomb' w/ supplies...just in case 'Judgement Day' wasn't averted...aaand it wasn't. "Judgement Day...is inevitable." If this is going to be directly following Genisys - and treating it as canon...T6 is taking place in an all-new timeline. This is going to be an older 'new Sarah Conner'...the one raised to be a bad-ass since youth by Arnie.
  6. I've been had read on this 'issue' before - but, I just checked out the link: Naaah, ain't no "ands, ifs or butts" about it...April wasn't an 'African-American' in the Mirage comics. This 'Rise of TMNT', indeed, is the first 'black' version of April O'Neil. Her run w/ a 'perm' confuses people...'specially being all in 'black n' white'. April just started buying 'Soul Glow' for awhile there. ALTERNATIVELY, Kevin Eastman sez HE named April after his then-wife, April Fisher - who was mixed...and viewed April O'Neil as racially ambiguous. Whatever their contrasting claims about origin or initial intent - she ended up being deliberately colored / drawn as 'white'...and had a fantastic stint w/ a perm, thanks to Eastman. You can argue April is Asian, African-American...but, I mean... LOL - the hell does 'the original' April O'Neil's race matter? Comics. 'Nuff said - LOL. Does it matter if April's race / ethnicity is changed? Ask the folks at Nickelodeon if it matters what one's ethnicity is. I'm sure they'd refer you to marketing.
  7. ...and now the wait for the blu release date announcement.
  8. That was the only thing in the ENTIRE movie (GoTG2) I cracked even the slightest smirk at. I haven't seen any of the memes n' stuff...I can imagine, tho. LOL There was a moment there - where Emily Blunt freakin' looked like Julie Andrews! Good casting - interested in seeing how they're gonna fit that super-60's 'vibe' from the original - that really contributed to the charm of what the Disney film was - into modern times...this being a direct sequel. Just as a 'period-piece' w/ fx could work - but a period-piece w/ a hint of '60s' could be visually / creatively interesting. I'd like to see another trailer.
  9. The fact that Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are back - is fucking amazingly awesome. James Cameron back in any 'production' / 'active input' capacity is also amazingly awesome. "A direct sequel to Genisys...and it's intended to launch a new Terminator Trilogy." I've heard the latter a few times already, but w/ all these dudes involved - I'd absolutely check it out. Actually, looking forward to it!
  10. The art style is whatever - like, the show could be totally amazing...and just drawn weird. Not a factor for me. What I don't like is the ultra high-tech 'vibe'...glowing weapons and such. Mmmm - naaaah...I'll pass. That will prolly keep me away more than any artstyle - LOL I think the 2K3 / Fox Kids series evolved into aaall that in it's later seasons - not really my thing. That's where I fell off - first 2 Seasons are as good as it's ever gonna get - I think - as far as nailing the original comics' mythos. Love that run... April being re-imagined as a person of color? Whatever...them's the times - but her redesigned 'look' looks more suited for a re-imagined Irma. Not getting 'April'...but I'm gonna assume the cg Nick version (a kid) is the new template for April...and that's the launching point in concept from now on. LOL - as far as the 'original' April - I'm pretty sure she wasn't 'black' in the Mirage comics. Her eventual ultra curly hair, to me - just came across as a...then-relevant...super-80s look. I think April has always been depicted as: I'll check out a trailer or clips - but, eh. Not really feeling this take on the Turtles. Too next gen. I'd be surprised if this take clicks w/ me after seeing sum footage. Wouldn't be the first version of TMNT that does nothing for me.
  11. I agree to scrap all that - and introduce a whole new batch of characters...but, keeping the 'setting / universe' all somewhat tethered - I'd personally like that. A darker version of Ghostbusters or MiB (I guess their animated counterparts would qualify as kinda going that way) - would definitely be cool...but, maybe as a spin-off? If you're gonna reboot either series outright - that'd be the direction I'd think they should take it...don't 'remake' it - and try to 'do it again' -a fantastic introductory film is already there - in both cases. Both IPs are totally set up for 'another one' - that different creatives can call their own. To me, both IPs have soft-reboot buttons hardwired in. There's no real reason why GB3 couldn't have 4 female leads. I could totally see a passionate vision end up not 'fitting' w/ the previous films...that instills utter faith in just rebooting the IP. Okay...but, I'd like a vision bigger than 'it's hard to write a sequel...let's just remake it.' Any 'sequel' w/ these things can be 'new' - w/ good writing. Reboot if you're gonna reinvent the wheel - and know it's gonna work. Seriously, these film premises are super simple and silly - if you're gonna kill what works - let it be for a good reason. Being different, doesn't automatically make it awesome-sauce success.
  12. Ah dunno 'bout there being 'no sense in looking backward'. An fx-heavy comedy series (that works / worked) w/ that 'aliens among us' and 'these dudes or gals are the only line of defense' - is delicious and ripe w/ potential...'specially when it's essentially structured to have a revolving door of new / fresh cast members / leads. That's gold. Sure, formulaic - but the entire premise is already kinda formulaic. Ghostbusters - a big bad will show up and the Ghostbusters are the only ones who can save the world. Retelling and reintroducing the same concept in 'a fresh new way' (instead of a comedy - it's now a serious drama) is...just...why? If it ain't broke...y'know? Expand the brand / build on what's been established. It's super hard to find a story worth telling that takes place in a previously established universe...sure, but - it's not like the MiB or Ghostbusters narrative had written itself into a corner. If it's well done, a sequel should stand on it's own - w/out having a need to see the previous films...I'm talking specifically 'bout films like MiB n' GB...flash in the pan / 'here we go' again comedies. There is lots a sense in having fun cameos and having a much loved comedy film series 'continue'. Remaking 'Ghostbusters' was a horrible idea - from the start. You can't do what they did in '84 again. It can't happen. I'd have pushed for a Ghostbusters 3 - just like I'd push for a 'not remake' / 'reboot' of MiB. Each sequel (in these specific IPs) - in it's way - should inherently already be a soft reboot. Same exact premise - different circumstances, different characters...and the kinda ridiculous silliness / type of humor expected from these respective brands. Remakes can be interesting exercises in creativity - but, if it ain't broke...and works...why not have fun w/ it?
  13. They should just remake the first one w/ all genders reversed. I was kidding - don't do that. Sequel / soft reboot - introduce a new cast w/ cameos from the old cast as their actual characters...and build on what's been established. Unless that's waaay too hard a concept to write - then, yeah - just remake the first one. It's always been an over-the-top, FX-heavy, one-liner bonanza - I don't see how re-introducing MiB to a new generation, can lose itself. Unless...politics are injected into it.
  14. Nope. I'm stuck having to wait for the damn blu release...which, I'm sure I'll be picking up - from a shelf w/ 'Rebels: The Complete Series' boxset sitting right next to 'lil ol' S4.
  15. 'Rise of the Silver Surfer' came out in 2007. Um, all cool news - I guess...but I really don't understand the point. Is Disney going to keep '20th Century' going as...a separate studio? Sony got to do Venom - but it's being shoved into the MCU. Disney's already announced Deadpool and the X-Men are going to be formally added into the MCU. Maybe part of Fox's deal w/ Disney was - Fox being able to finish whatever films they had in 'pre-production'...and Fox being able to keep a significant portion of the returns? I really don't get these announcements. You'd think Disney would want full control of what they now own.
  16. Down. If I were on the creative team - I'd push the living hell out of the idea of keeping 'The Robot's' original 60s design totally intact / a full-blown replica! LOL - the practical cheesy visual would be great against...I'm sure, the crazy cg / designs this show will prolly have. 'The Robot' is just sooo...classic! The '98 movie tried to re-invent the design... ...eh...naaaw, man. Either way, it'll boil down to personality - The Robot and Dr. Smith were the real stars of that show.
  17. I beat 'Thimbleweed Park' yesterday. 20 hours, 15 min... No hints, no guides, no googlin'...on 'expert' mode. Fuck yeah! A point-n'-click game for lovers of point-n'-click games. Wanna game that routinely forces you to 'think things out?' Are you easily frustrated w/ not knowing what to do in a game? Then - you need not apply. It's an excellent game. Great puzzles. Worth the 20 bucks it costs. Recommended to point n' click lovers...who wanna brand-new point n' click adventure to figure out and 'solve' on their own. If you're gonna google solutions n' guides - just save your money and youtube a playthrough. Almost a classic...buuut, in a way - it kinda is.
