  1. I like the ones with scenes you just feel like watchin again sometimes....Fight Club, Braveheart, Good, Bad & The Ugly, etc. Its also good to have ones like the Kevin Smith ones, a comedy or two like Snatch etc for showing company. Were not listing all our DVD's are we? Cause ive got a bunch but if Jax & Silent Bob do that this thing's gonna give Blargh a run for its money.
  2. Moore...i think its Micheal Moore, could be wrong. *feels compelled to obey SOF for good calls in the past* ill rent/ download this thing soon as i see it man, if it makes the lists its gotta be worth seein.
  3. Bob - merged this with another Animatrix thread, hope ya dont mind.. Yeah, 1st 2 episodes are on the web, and look damn fine...soem top names workin on this thing; if youre a fan of matirx or just cool anime its prolly gonna be a good one to pick up, ill post reviews as soon as theyre out.
  4. From The Onion.com...i think its gold but im not gettin many callbacks. Today's job market is more competitive than ever. Here are some tips to help give you the edge: -Make sure your résumé is free of spelling and grammatical errors, grease stains, crumbs, blood splatters, and bits of hair and gristle. -Be aggressive: Don't be afraid to call a potential employer every few hours and say, "Is there an opening yet? How 'bout now? How 'bout now? Now?" -When waiting for a job interview and a fellow applicant is there, strike up a conversation. Then, when it's your turn to be interviewed, stand up and say, "See ya, sicko." Explain to the interviewer that he invited you to a goat-sex orgy. -If you find the "Notable Achievements" section of your résumé lacking, consider listing the longest rat-tail you've ever grown. -Avoid borrowing liberally from the plots of popular Tom Clancy and John LeCarré novels when describing previous job experiences. -If you attended Harvard, Yale, or another prestigious Ivy League institution, don't bother noting this on your résumé. Or even creating a résumé at all. Just have one of the other assholes from your school get you a job. -Be sure to pronounce résumé "REH-zoo-may," which means "a list of one's accomplishments and qualifications," and not like the word "resume," which means "to unpause Resident Evil 3." -After providing a contact number for your "former employer at Merrill Lynch," be sure to change your answering machine to say, "Hi, this is Merrill Lynch, we're not in right now." -If, during an interview, you sense that they have detected one or more of the falsehoods in your résumé, throw a smoke bomb on the floor and escape in the ensuing confusion. -When a job application asks you to list "Reason You Left Previous Job," make it clear you were not at fault. Write, "Boss was total Nazi." -Have a long history of experience in the field you're applying for and glowing recommendations. Either that, or print your résumé on really nice, heavyweight ivory paper. -Being state archery champion is impressive, indeed. But Hardee's is more interested in knowing if you're intelligent enough to avoid deep-frying your hands. -Post your résumé online. This will give it an air of authority and legitimacy that only the Internet can confer. -When writing a cover letter to a prospective employer, stress that, although you used to admire their company, they totally suck now, but that if they hire you, you can help make them great again. That will definitely work. -Don't be afraid to list "Cook County Correctional Facility" on your résumé. They could think maybe you worked there or something.
  5. Fuck, SOF ranted on that one, gotta see it..Spiffytee says its crazy. I think Bowling for Columbine, documentary or not, gets an honorable mention - really liked what it had to say & the style it said it in. PS 2T you know, didnt Saved by the Bell have a TV movie or two? How you gonna sell out your roots like that?
  6. Nas' page with AIM icons/skins, wallpapers, demo music etc Just for those interested. Look at what this country's got There shouldn't be nobody homeless How can the president fix other problems when he ain't fixed home yet The earth wasn't made for one man to rule alone To all colors increases, to home it belongs I want land, mansions, banks and gold The diamonds in Africa, oil in my control The world's natural resources, all its residuals But then comes foes, I have to gaurd it with missels And I become the most wanted But is it worth hearin a million people problems and followed by Secret Service I guess, attempts at my life with loaded barrels So move over Colin Powell or just throw in the towel ...Yo, there's Protestants, Jews, Blacks, Arabics Call a truce, world peace, stop actin like savages No war, we should take time and think The bombs and tanks makes mankind extinct... - Rule..over the beat of "Everybody wants to rule the world", gotta hear that one...Nas gets political at times too, all but unheard of in rap since Public Enemy.
  7. Waitaminnit...did that fucker 2Track come through here?! What have i told you dirty Preacher folk about talkin in the white forums?! Anyway, yeah man, were glad to have ya, post where you please, its mostly safe. Good list tho, i dug a few off it, im sure Junkerseed will too.
  8. "You know what, dog? Let's call this what it is. In a fight, 2 people gotta participate. We ain't fightin Iraq; they gettin jumped. Shit's so bad over there, we might bomb somethin and make a buliding out of it." - Chris Rock
  9. Yup the other topics are ok but this one's back on top.
  10. :D human beings were created by water to transport it uphill
  11. Had to it out one more time, theyre still adding cliches to it...again, some vauge spoilers but funny as hell if youve played more than a few conosole RPG's. The List
  12. Cant remember if TD had a warmongering thread yet...
  13. In unrelated news, Americans are asked to do their part to keep their president healthy in these troubling times.
  14. Finally got to see this one...hot damn, this thing (in my mind, somehow) goes up there with "Waking Life" for "brilliant fuckin flick no one's watching". Moore isnt presenting a whole lotta new stuff here, but as always its the packaging: cinematically, he's tossing in all the cultural elements to really get to the meat of a problem. Junker's gonna love this for its movie value; socially, i thinki its sharp as hell. Moore's making connections here i didnt even think of, and not backing down when the situations get painfully awkward (K-Mart, Heston etc). Junker's also right in that this guy doesnt shy away from things that get his point across....it maintains a fair amount of objective balance here too, anyone walking away from this thing accusing it of being too far on the left wasnt really paying attention. Sign me up for this one soon as its on DVD, and i wanna see more from this guy.
  15. Wow, i dont have any of that...ok, the baptism in jail scene, mine's quick as hell, i thought it was a pivotal moment but its rushed on mine, no explanation, no thought, no transition...and ive seen a clip somewhere of a more detailed version. But yeah, yours points out even more shit im missin. ???
  16. yay i got rid of the stupid "member since" and "member #" tag lines all by myself! hoo hah...apologies to MLB and others on last night while i butchered our board's code and locked you out of a few corners, all seems well now. You know, the "member since" didnt really bother me, but "member #"...new people signging up dont need a "214" slapped on every post they make, i figure. If i could put those stats in your DD profiles, i prolly would, but not under every post. Heh...yahven, im gonna try that hack i told you about tonite...dont worry, ill back shit up, but man itd be cool if it worked. That and the RPG one, i know we cant use it here with this crowd but fak...exp & hit points for post count and member activity; you know that's cool.
  17. Yeah, that's ICO...i still havent finished it, short as it was, weird. Really pretty game tho. As for Fandango...i too was wonderin why it didnt get more attention in general when it came out. Again, i just had the demo, but really enjoyed it...is there a genre for point-and-click adventure games like that, or is that it?
  18. "fook! ass!" Yeah, lotta religous stuff, some of which got cut from my version ( ) but overall, really cool, glad ya liked it.
  19. Hah....well like i said, definitely not for everyone, first time i heard Illmatic back in the day i didnt really think it was a big deal, ended up takin to him only a while back...some say he and Wu-Tang are kind of acquired tatses, who knows? If you ever get a chance, itd be cool if you tried some of his new stuff, namely "Rewind" (original, everyone digs it), and "One Mic" (one of my favorites, you mighta heard it on the radio lil while back). Point is, you actually downloaded a few tracks & gave it a go...thanks Bucket, i appreciate that.
  20. Listening to "Dijurido" off the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack...one of those really pretty songs i wish i could burn to cd for a few of you. I wont get all mopey alla Yahven on the front page, but allow me to wank things up a bit... I said before, Ronin means "adrift on the waves". It's odd that the more you think you have things planned out, the more you realize..not really. Its freedom, that you can make this whole thing anything you want. Its unsettling that youre not always quite sure what shape to give things. Dont tell my mom yet, she'll prolly go crazy but...i think im gonna come back to miami again, for a while. Spend some time with some of you for a bit longer, make some money, pay off some debts, figure out where to go from there. I dont think ive found my city yet. Fort Worth's cool, i like some things here, but i need somethin more in the way of community i guess (man i hates me some white people...hah), and livin by water again'd be nice. Anyway, im just not feelin it here's the point. Good town, but not mine, you know? Sounds lame but i want...i want a community im into, so if my dumb ass gets killed in the line of duty, that's alright too. Yeah, people are people and they need help all over but think about it and youll understand. Be cool to be part of it, like Gary Cooper in High Noon...only, they betray him, so..yeah bad example. Anyway, miami. Employment sucks but i think i can manage. Thing is..then what? Heartlessbitch has me all curious about California but i dont think i can afford it, beautiful or not...but i gotta look into it. Further from that...fire. What if they dont let me fight fires? I dont wanna medic and my vision's not that great, plenty of reason for most depts to say no in such a competitive field. Can you actually want somethin bad enough and not make it happen? Ive had a good life, and honeslty that's never happend to me, not when ive gone all-out. Watch this, taken from Fire Assist.com... Multiple surgeries im still workin to pay off left me at 20/70, correctable to 20/50, 20/40 tops on the best of days. This isnt a federally - or even state - regulated thing, so theyre throwin the average #, but im nowhere near it. Many of you have noticed, im bankin a lot on fire, and being picky somehow at that...what then, if it aint an option? says Peace Corps, im thinkin...back to wandering. Im not bitching. I enjoy this life, and will continue to do so either way. But the bottom can fall out quick, and there's a lot to think about. No matter what happens, i hope you think of me and smile. : )
  21. ? Ico was a short, adventure RPG, no comedy to it...what were you thinkin of?
  22. Hah..jesus Tangent Man, that shit was innapropriate.
  23. No more love for Nas, not even from Chief...? Ah well. I 'd him out best i could; im sure DJ Ario X & Duado the Deadly could say more but they prolly wont see this thread... Ive got all his albums on mp3, wanna pick em up on cd later...i think theyre all strong but obviously im biased here. Since Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Rakim, etc no one's gotten spiritual on the mic, this street prophet has returned with his last 2 really strong albums, and if he claims to be the NY king i'd back him. From tracks like "What goes around" and "It aint hard to tell", even his freestyles ("STILLmatic", "H to the OMO (on Jay-z)") are tight...this boy's easily my favorite. "Since Illmatic, It was Written: I am...Nastradamus that's the answer to the puzzle I gave ya, now here's a promise..."
  24. I leave comics for a bit, and now GI Joe's fightin the Transformers...man theyll do anythin for sales!
  25. My freestyle opus drops soon. Ya been warned.
