Keth
Ohhhhhhh yeah. I wonder how they are gonna make Los Santos bigger than all three of those games though? It's just one city even in San Andreas. And holy shit this thing looks gorgeous. I can't preorder this quick enough.
Jables
San ANdreas was like, the lower half of california with it's different geograpgical districts. If Rockstar aren't Molyneux'ing us then this is keeping up a tradition of genre-changing innovation in this series. 3 years from now we're probably going to be sick of squad-based sandboxes. Iambaytor
Are there going to be 3 playable characters? In one game?
Thrizzle
Yes. The narrative involves all 3. They'll have different roles within missions, and when not on missions you can bring up a google maps looking interface and jump to another character. When you arent controlling them, they go about their daily routine. It also provides an opportunity to play as the protagonist and antagonist within the same story. Sounds cool, if they dont muck it up.
Maldron
Knowing the antagonist works for tv.
Jables
Are there going to be 3 playable characters? In one game? Did you sleep on every post in this thread prior to trailer 2? Knowing the antagonist works for tv. I'm guessing it's going to work in a way where, each character will be given a chance to fuck the others over at some point so your choices will affect the story and who infact will be the antagonist. So I guess that could work.
Iambaytor
Did you sleep on every post in this thread prior to trailer 2? If by "sleep on" you mean "did not read," then yes.
Jables
Point: Baytor.
Iambaytor
So the hillbilly seems like the obvious antagonist and Tommy Vercetti there seems to be the chaotic neutral so I'm guessing the black guy is the "good" one?
Thrizzle
That's the impression I got, yes.
Keth
Shame that isn't really Tommy Vercetti. That would've been awesome. Then again, that character is in witness protection... so his name may not be what it is in the game.
Iambaytor
Rockstar's all but said that this takes place in a separate universe from the Grand Theft Auto 3 universe. So we'll probably not get to see Grove Street either, unfortunately.
Thrizzle
I bet there will be some random culdesac that the internet will insist is Grove St., but yeah, probably nothing solid. I'll be honest, I'm most excited about tearing up the city as Harvey Pekar.
Iambaytor
Just like that 2 story shit-hole mansion in GTA4 everyone insisted was Salvatore's Gentleman's Club even though it was very obviously not. Yeah, I think Trevor's gonna be my favorite character as well.

Iambaytor
I don't know how I'm going to bring myself to play as anyone other than Trevor. I'm glad some of that old over-the-top craziness is returning to the GTA world.
Keth
They all look like interesting characters, but yeah Trevor stole the fucking show there. This one is gonna be a fun ride to be sure.
Iambaytor
Michael and Franklin are interesting even if they just seem to represent sequels (or in Franklin's case a remake) of Vice City and San Andreas. Trevor just seems like an anarchic good time. It would be like being able to play the entirety of Vice City as Phil or San Andreas as Mike Toreno or Liberty City as Toni... oh wait... Maldron
I liked Michael the best, but then I've never been much for the GTA formula so i'm probably still skipping this.
Panch
When are we going back to Vice City?
Iambaytor
Convention would seem to indicate in the next game. Hopefully rockstar can spice it up this time around. Vice city was easily the most boring playground of the three.

Iambaytor
Vice city only had two map sections that had no real difference as opposed to the other two which had several distinctive areas. It was also flat, cramped, and pastellated
Panch
I guess since it was (loosely) modeled after (a small part of) my home town I'm biased.
