Jont
I played the first one through, they're called Project Zero over here, a title which is never explained. It's pretty good, they whole game is set in one mansion, so a lot of the same maps are reused with new stuff apearing all the time, which is a cheap shot that actually works in this case. Plus I guess you should pick it up pretty cheap, I'd recomend it over Silent Hill 4, definitley.
Jont
Images for Condemned and videos. Also, nothing to do with the game, but it came up on the google search and is super freaky.
Silent Bob
E3 has brought us a lotta great new screens, so this'll be another long one... Dead or Alive 4 - Another reason to get the XBox 360 Mario Baseball - The success of Mario Tennis has brought even more Mario sports titles including this one and the next one... Super Mario Strikers The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - The finally named Legend of Zelda game has a ton of new screens. Devil May Cry 4 - The PS3 is launching with some...big guns. Gundam World - Mech combat for the PS3 Final Fantasy XII - Aww they're so fuzzy and cute... Kingdom Hearts II - Though a few new screenshots have been released, the biggest new news about this game is that Square isn't only dipping into the Disney animated well for its sequel. In fact, A demo was shown at E3 in which cartoons Sora, Donald and Goofy fought alongside a photo-realistically rendered Captain Jack Sparrow. I kid you not. The Getaway 3 - The only game that can make driving in London fun. Final Fight: Streetwise - Dude, it's a new Final Fucking Fight game! Prince of Persia 3 - He's even angrier! The NZA
sweet merciful crap, thanks for that! I didnt even notice that E3 had gone underway (has it? where you goin primarily for screenshots?) Im with you on new Final Fight, gotta tell arc about Kingdom Hearts II. FF XII looks damn interestin for a game i know nothing about, plot-wise, and again, i look forward to new details on the battle system. Dont know bout Mario Soccer, but i dig the idea of Mario Baseball. My personal highlight was the Zelda shots...everyone can see its more "mature" than Wind Waker, but it looks downright dark in some shots. SB - tho i love this thread almost more than anything in this particlaur forum, one reviewer felt with high-end PC games & next-gen consoles, traditionally screenshots (especially magazine) are doing less and less justice at conveying much about the game. What do you think?
Silent Bob
I swipe most of 'em from GameSpot.com. They've got an E3 section that they literally update about every 10 minutes now. And I agree that screenshots probably aren't the best representations of games these days. A good (and well doctored) screenshot can make an average looking game look amazing, while a good game might look like crap in a still shot. But since video previews are usually pretty low quality, and demos are rare to find, screenshots are probably still the best we have. That said, I usually post 'em for the content, not the graphics - though you can pretty much trust the likes of Square and Nintendo to keep the final product looking that great. Silent Bob
It's E3 so even more screenshots comin' at ya. Nick, I know you'll love quite a few of these Ultimate Spiderman - Acting as a continuation to the Venom storyline in the Ultimate Spidey comics, this game will use a similar play style as the Spider-man 2 movie game, with a new twist - you get to play almost half the game as Venom. It's not scheduled to be released until late this year, so it's showing a nice amount of polish already. Middle Earth Online - Sadly it has nothing to do with the Peter Jackson trilogy, so all the visuals had to be re-designed, occasionally with less impressive results (in my opinion). But it's still looking pretty sharp. Castlevania: Curse of Darkness Fantastic 4 X-Men Legends II - Rise of the Apocalypse Samurai Western - You can't make this stuff up. IC, it's your dream come true! Tomb Raider Legend - Most of the screen shots for this just show off the new more realistic design for Lara Croft. And what a design it is. Jont
The Getaway looks good, but wont driving around London again be a bit boring for players of the first two games, I havn't played them by the way. Zelda Trailer Judging from the green tunicless link (and by that I don't mean naked), I'm guessing this is going to an all new incarnation of Link. Here's a thought, as was revealed in the Wind Waker, could this game end with Hyrule flooded?
Silent Bob
Maybe, but driving around London was the best part of the other two Getaway games. The first two lacked polish and usually controlled pretty poorly when you weren't in a car (which, sadly, was a lot of the time) but they also had great voice acting, fairly interesting stories and a near-perfect virtual recreation of London. I wouldn't call either of them great games, but like Spider-man 2, they had enough going for them that I'm willing to give any sequel a shot. As for the next Zelda, i dunno. In Wind Waker, didn't they say that Hyrule got flooded because Link wasn't around to save them? Plus, it's looking like Ganon won't be the bad guy in this one. Woulda been cool to see, though. Full Metal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir Farcry Instincts Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse Scarface: The World Is Yours The Incredible Hulk Black King Kong The Godfather - (This is supposedly the Xbox version, there is also an Xbox 360 version being developed) 7 Sins - Think of it as the evil twin of The Sims Bone
The NZA
Stubbs looks....like it could be alright. Lotta gangster games these days. That Bone one, im hopin it either goes console (not likely) or at least has low requirements, cause its lookin great, and its the right genre for it too. Silent Bob
I know they're extremely tiny, but so far these are the only proof that I've found that Pirates of the Caribbean will be a level in Kingdom Hearts II. No word yet on whether Johnny Depp is doing the voice. (the likeness isn't accurate enough to suggest his involvement)
Silent Bob
More games! The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction - Being released...tomorrow, I believe. The reviews are in and, actually, it's supposed to be a very good game. Particularly since practically everything you come across in the game is Hulk Smashable. Rainbow Six: Lockdown Evil Dead: Regeneration The Sims 2 Nightlife Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects - Please include Daredevil, please include Daredevil... XMen Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse - Wolvy's back in his costume. Joss Whedon will be so proud. Silent Bob
Some really exciting updates. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - This is the reason I brought back the screenshots thread (though I've got plenty more good ones for you, don't worry). These are actual screenshots, from the first trailer released. Fellow fans of Solid Snake be warned, this game is set many years after MGS2 and our old sneaking suited hero is looking a bit worse for wear (strangely, Otacon looks good, though). I dunno, it's almost sad to see Snake in his later years. Like seeing Michael Corleone in Godfather III. But enough of that, here's the screens. Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II From Russia With Love Ultimate Spiderman - Is that last shot implying that you'll get to get revenge for all those stupid "my balloon!" quests in Spider-man 2? Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Silent Bob
Hrm, no MGS4 love... Saint's Row Resident Evil 5 - You heard Chromehounds Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects - Daredevil is in it! Oh I'm so happy! Last I checked, this, Ultimate Spidermand and XMen Legends II all come out next week, so Marvel videogamers will be quite happy too. Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico Black & White 2 WinBack 2: Project Poseidon - The first WinBack dates all the way back to the N64 (though it later got ported to the PS2). I was always a fan so can't wait to see how this one turns out. The Outfit - World War II game number 278.
MusicManiac
Those fuckin screens are the ballz man.....I'm gonna be broke with all the games coming out. On a sidenote...doesn't Snake look like Ocelot in those screen caps? MGS, Nemesis and RE5 Look insane! I can't wait. Awesome pics.
The NZA
MGS IV - Those genes were not kind to Snake. Could it be Big Boss? The fact this seems to connect more with 2 ("The Patriots") sounds awesome. I still need to play 3 sometime, but im hyped like fuck about this. Nemesis looks sharp, but Wolvy looks off there....Ultimate Spidey's great, the phycis look very Bagley-ish. RE 5 shots are from the trailer someone put up before, looking for new stuff since 4 was so badass. SB - ...did you say X-Men Legends 2 comes out next week? Silent Bob
Yeah the voice acting was pretty bad, but the very fact that it had full voice acting was a pretty rare thing at the time, especially for cartridge games. I dug the story, though. More interesting than most without getting too MGS-wild or anything. And speaking of MGS, yeah he does look kinda like Ocelot, and Big Boss. All signs are pointing to it actually being Snake, though, just in the future. It's generally suggested that this will be the last MGS game (at least on consoles, the Acid series might go on a little longer) so this is Snakes "last mission". IC, you need to play MGS3. I mean, if you've ever considered yourself a fan of the character or the series, you have to play it. It's the best in the series, and it's especially satisfying for the way it ties so many things together. Seriously, play it. And yeah, last I checked, Legends II comes out Tuesday. If not Tues, it's the week after, but definitely this month.
The NZA
Shit..youre prolly right on both counts. Again, got hustled out of my PS2 a while back, holdin out for a cheap one or just a PS3, but i assure you, MGS3 is high on my list: i fucking adore that series. Kojima's said stuff in interviews about not knowing how much further he was gonna take the series, so im guessing youre right about it being the finale...ill make a point to play 3 first. I just didnt hear much after its realease, but yeah, cruzbishop was telling me it was amazing too, plotwise even. I thought i was the only guy who enjoyed the S3/Patriots stuff at the end of part 2...
Silent Bob
I enjoyed it, I just thought the way they handled it was a little...long-winded. Ok, a lot long-winded. Snake Eater (I mistyped that the first time and just realized you can rearrange "snake" into "sneak". Hm) was a lot more straight-forward when it came to plot. I'd say, it was probably even more straight-forward than MGS1. But the simpler (relatively) plot just let it focus even more on the characters. I always meant to write a review about it. I know, it kinda appeared and disappeared quietly, for some reason.
