Acalis
Okay this thread is dedicated to 'The perfect song'. What I mean is if you could only hear ONE song just before you left this Earth, THIS would be the song. It could be for whatever reason. It reminds you of that special someone, it's the best tune ever. It's a song that makes you cry. The harmony is so perfect it's beyond belief. Well you get the picture... Acalis
MY absolute perfect song would have to be Let The Beat Control Your Body by 2 Unlimited (from their Hits Unlimited album). The music, the harmony, the beat, every part of the song just plays so perfectly it almost makes me cry how awesome it sounds!
FireDownBelow
There is a motown song...regretably I can't remember the name of it. But part of the chorus is, "Goodnight Sweetheart". That is the one song I would want to hear. There's nothing particularly special about it as far as lyrics, tune or melody, but when my husband and I were dating he would sing it to me as we cuddled in the car right before I'd have to go in. Ever since its had a special place in my heart and never fails to make me feel all mushy and floaty.
ChristyandJake
I found all the lyrics for you: GOODNIGHT, SWEETHEART Goodnight, sweetheart, Well,it's time to go. Goodnight, sweetheart. Well, it's time to go. I hate to leave you, but I really must say Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight. Well it's three o'clock in the mornin' Baby, I just can't get right. Well, I hate to leave you, baby, I don't mean maybe, Because I love you so. Goodnight, sweetheart, Well, it's time to go. Goodnight, sweetheart, Well, it's time to go. I hate to leave you, but I really must say Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight. Mother, and, oh, your father Won't like it if we stay out too late. Well, I hate to leave you, baby, Don't mean maybe, You know I hate to go. Goodnight, sweetheart, Well, it's time to go. Goodnight, sweetheart, Well, it's time to go. I hate to leave you, but I really must say - Goodnight, sweetheart, goodnight.
Signal08
I dunno my perfect song... thought I did... but I dunno... this song makes me sad in a peaceful way... Shame what we learned here is love tastes bitter when it’s gone past yourself forget the light, things look dirty when it’s on funny how it comes to pass, that all the good slips away and there’s no one around you can remember being good to you (chorus 1) shame, shouldn’t try you, couldn’t step by you and open up more shame, shame, shame what we lost here is something better left alone second steps have been forgotten, will you tell me how they go set yourself, situate, like a fool try again there’s no one around you can remember being good, for you so (chorus 2) shame, shouldn’t try you, couldn’t step by you, and open up more shame, shame, shame shame, shouldn’t try you, couldn’t step by you and open up more shame, shame, shame we never thought we’d get so troubled we could never think that much it should never get this bad so let the wind blow ya, across a big floor but there’s no one around who can tell us what we’re here for funny in a certain light, how we all look the same and there’s no one in life you can remember ever stood for you, so

FireDownBelow
Yup, an old doo wop song. Like I said, its not the greatest song in the world, its just the memories associated with it that I like.

Reverend Jax
"The City Of New Orleans" or "Alice's Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie, "Goodnight Moon" by Shivaree, "Only In Dreams" by Weezer, or... If some Genie said I had to listen to this song before I died but I wouldn't die until it finished, I'd pick As Slow As Possible composed by John Cage as currently interpreted in Halberstadt, Germany.
