archangel Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 I figure at 9-9:30 at the Starlite Diner. That way we have time to relax a bit and eat/drink before the movie.
Senshik Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 awesome, I was thinking the same thing well cheers to all, see you guys tonight then... drive carefully, it's probably going to be raining...
archangel Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 yea, and the moment two drops of water fall from the sky, these dickheads we have for drivers think that the apocolypse is neigh and loose all skill (the little they do posses) in driving.
APANCHALYPSE NOW Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 Mine are for autitorium 13! It's a good thing too, cause I heard 12 was filled with Wolverine Fan Club folks that are gonna crying that in the movie he's too tall and doesn't say "bub" enough!
Jables Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 ...shit. got caught up with class & such, went to buy tickets just now and theyre sold out. any ideas? if there's a group, i guess we could always save 2 seats, have someone come back out once youre in with 2 of the stubs, and try it that way...my bad, big test tomorrow and i lost track of time. Those Claremont fans? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « They're gonna shit their fucking spines out is how bad they got it wrong. And yeah, the Juggernaut thing. I figured with alla noise you folk were makin' it was a joke someone caught from the preview. I hadn't seen that cartoon dub before. Anyways kids, enjoy, and seeya back here for the wrap up. And those Wolverine fans? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The small amount of mush that passes for brains in their automaton heads're gonna just short out like a bad 60-watter when they see Logan cry not once, but twice All in all, I still say it was fun-ish. Had it's moments, but whoever gets it next has their work cut out for 'em.
Jont Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 Christ they did fuck that one up, it's not unentertaining, but Jesus, they killed the franchise.
Reverend Jax Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 i bet you a dollar at least one guy's gonna yet "oh its the juggernaut, bitch!" tonight during the film I'm guessing that one guy will be you. Skeet, you say the next guy has his work cut out for him? Did the end imply there were more movies coming? I was under the impression this was the last one.
Jont Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 i bet you a dollar at least one guy's gonna yet "oh its the juggernaut, bitch!" tonight during the film You'll get better than that.
Iambaytor Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 I'm guessing that one guy will be you. Skeet, you say the next guy has his work cut out for him? Did the end imply there were more movies coming? I was under the impression this was the last one. Vinnie Jones said he was signed on for 3 movies.
Jables Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Well Jax didja stay through the credits abd see the super-end scene?? Did anyone for that matter? Anyways, Vinnie Jones for 3 movies HAS to be BS, no offence JailBayt. He barely made it through this one, and I reckon it'd be tragic if 1) the next creative team for the franchise felt Juggernaut had such a presence that he simply HAD to stick around and 2) If Vinnie's that hard up for cash these days . Buy the guy a sandwich so's he can retain his dignity folks, please.
Iambaytor Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 I'm just telling you what he said, he said his contract was for three movies.
Jables Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 S'all good man, wasn't aiming that at you. Sounds like he's tooting prematurely though. You seen it yet?
Iambaytor Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 No I haven't, I plan to. It looks extremely campy, but I'm okay with that.
Jables Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Yeah. It's fun, there's no denyin' that. It just lacks a lotta content.
Iambaytor Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Meh, content is for hookers and fat people, this is a movie based on a comic book, I don't go in expecting a lot of substance.
Jables Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 The devil you say! Goddamnit The Dark Phoenix Saga's one've man's greatest contributions to the collective's conscience. At the very least it stands up to the unbelievable hype it's copped from fanboys this last 20 years.
Iambaytor Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 It induced yawns from me, it was the Clone Saga of X-Men in my eyes. Is Jean finally dead in the comics or did they bring her back?
Jables Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Dead for the next four issues. I think Claremont has a title tho, so it could be two. That fuck likes his sammiches so it depends how hungry he is.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Y'know I was just thinking the same thing... Just got back from the new X-Men flick. My Ratner hating paid off as my expecting utter crap was rewarded by the movie being pretty good. Beast was great. I forgot Kelsey Grammer was under the blue fur. Also anything with Bill Duke get's a good review from me. shit!
Reverend Jax Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 This was like a Return of the Jedi for this franchisee. h first movie caught everyone unprepare with how good it was, usering in a new era for movies (the we need to opinion every comic title every era), the second surpassed the first in almost every way, and the third, well, some fanboy are gonna be haters over some details, but the fact is it was a good movies and worthy of being in the series.
Jables Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 I knew you'd be the first back to post. That's a pretty sharp comparison Jax. Totally true right down to the semi-cliffhanger of X2. And I'd consider Beast a muppet.
Jont Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 I think it's summed up compared to the Scream movies, I'm shuffling the order a bit though. X Men was Scream 2 X Men 2 was Scream X Men 3 was Scary Movie
Reverend Jax Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 See, Jont is like one of the Star Wars fanboys that can't forgive Lucas for the Ewoks. The Ewoks won't let him see that in someways, thsi was the best installment yet. In other ways, it pales. X-Men: A New Hope The Brotherhood Strikes Back The Return of the Pheonix
Jont Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 See that's where your wrong, I'm not against this movie because Beast and Juggernaut looked silly, even thought they did, I'm against it because it was badly directed, had a shitty script and absolutely no dramatic tension.
