The NZA
So yeah, just added it to the calendar, but i gotta make a thread too, as a huge fan of Legos growing up - today they turn 50! or, at least the lego brick does. anyway, post picks of your favorite legos, and stories & such! the division of joy
So thats what the lego google was all about... Niice, i was a big fan of lego as a kid myself... hours and hours of fun building and eventually decimating buildings i'd make.
The NZA
i like that theyve gotten more specific (star wars sets, etc) but then i kinda feel bad, cause theyre somewhat limiting. i mean, sure, the medieval castle ones and pirate island ones didnt leave me a ton of room to make variations as a kid, but i found i had options, such as uh, castle-pirates. star wars sets, i think youre stuck building jedi stuff. more game ones
Iambaytor
Wow... and I was proud of myself when I build a house out of scratch. Course I was using knock-off legos (Mega Blocks) with my legos so it was technically cheating.

Mr. Hakujin
How did we not have this thread here already!?!?! I only found one in Culture & Sociology, which Nizzlers should combine w/ this thread and keep in the MoAF forum. LEGO has their own youtube channel and it is awesome. First up, meet Astrid. Astrid gave up a job in architecture to design LEGOs. She's also a taller, hotter, less annoying version of Bjork. This basically makes Astrid one of the most desirable women in the history of all things ever. http://youtu.be/TDjJI6sP2Sw
Thelogan
The other one is in Art & Literature and it's about Lego Art.
Mr. Hakujin
Yeah, I know that thread and it is what it is. But we needed a general LEGO thread and it definitely belongs in here. Or we can just make this thread a shrine to Astrid. And now for something you will buy when you win the lottery: LEGO Super Star Destroyer. http://youtu.be/Ny9rhYG4t_g And this guy is a douche. Not b/c of his terrible haircut or his even worse acting, but b/c he tells you this is about $1k worth of LEGO before he, well just watch... http://youtu.be/tuxM-avNfLo
Thelogan
I met you halfway and moved it to the toy forum.
Mr. Hakujin
Aww naw, son. Ya gots me all wrong. I meant this thread when I wrote the C&S Legos thread should be combined and moved in here. The art thread is what it is and, IMHO, was previously well placed in A&L.

Mr. Hakujin
So, if you're ever bored or can't sleep here's a fun fact: apparently on the LEGO minifigures bios section of the website the logo is animated differently for each individual character for Series 1-5* of the LEGO Minifugures. According to LEGO, when the zombie apocalypse does come, it will apparently mutate all chickens to an enormous size as well. So, rest easy MIA...for now. * Except for the guy in the hazmat suit. Apparently biological disasters aren't animation worthy. It's nice to know the zombie apocalypse is a laughing matter, but the cause of the zombie apocalypse ain't no joke. Mr. Hakujin
At first glance the new sail barge looks to be a big let down compared to the 2006 version.
Newtype
It's a bit smaller but I'm just glad that I'll be able to buy one.
Mr. Hakujin
Yeah, I guess the front end is what really bothers me aesthetically more so than the size. They really nailed it w/ the first set. Also, in 2006 a larger set w/ more mini-figs and also included the desert skiff and sarlac went for $75. Now the desert skiff is a separate set for $20-25 and the barge is another $45. So LEGO basically is giving fans less for nearly double the price. That's a big disappointment from a company that usually improves on quality of product over time. In more uplifting LEGO news, the upcoming Lone Ranger movie has finally given LEGO a reason to make sets featuring cowboys & Indians. More pics here. Mr. Hakujin
I'll try and fix them using Hondoshare when I'm on my laptop. I added the source link for you in the original post though. There's probably $200 worth of LEGO from that Lone Ranger set I want.
