  1. After years of only having the original, now available on Steam Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2!!! It is only $9.99 as well. Pick up arguably one of the best action-rpg's of last generation! It is easy to put 80 hours into it too, it's not some shallow Star Wars game. It improves upon the first in every way possible.
  2. So what time does the head-start start? I know the 25th, but will it be at midnight or like 10am PST?
  3. Baytor pretty much summed it up. 2 is ok with some good fighting. 3 I fell asleep during the first 30 min so I don't really know. My wife said the ending fight on 3 was good though. Jaa needs to stick to listening to what other people tell him to do and not trying to direct or do anything other than choreography and/or acting/fighting. Yeah I am sure Wu-Tang has some movies where they are the badasses, I just thought it was funny that a lot of the movies I had watched had Wu-Tang (Wu-Dang) as the inept evil clan. I do need to find a dubbed version of Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang though. And I did hear a sample they use for one of their songs openings on an OLD Jackie Chan film.
  4. Also just for arguments sake I would say Jet Li is probably the best all around martial arts star of all time. Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao are damn close and the more I see of Yuen Biao the more I like him and his style. Tony Jaa is another great. Ong-Bak is one of those movies i pretty much made everyone I know sit down and watch at some point in time (much like Salo) but it is such a fucking badass film. It is also good to see Donnie Yen finally getting some well deserved screen time. Though his reliance on Bruce Lee at first was somewhat discomforting (Bruce Lee was cool, but I just don't like his stuff as much as other stuff during the same time). Though it was pretty cool seeing a young bruce lee walk into Ip Man's studio at the end of Ip Man 1.
  5. Wow I didn't know we had a Kung-fu thread... Let's see, have everything Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Gordon Liu (I think) and Jet Li have starred in. Like major roles and not just them playing "Thug #2." Just got the complete Zatoichi too! Even the new ones (not starring Shintaro Katsu). I remember me and Logans watching a newer Zatoichi film without subtitles once. The only thing that threw us off was the damned androgynous male trying to be a female whore. Never know if they were male or female or what. I also managed to get all of the Lone Wolf and Cub series, which I hadn't seen yet. I thought Shintaro starred in those but it turns out it was his brother (which explains the close resemblance). What I did want to comment on is that it seems like Wu-Dang clan is the bitch clan they always beat up in the begining of the movie. I've seen countless films where Wu-Dang were sitting in some restaurant and in comes the badass of the film and he opens a can of whoop-ass on like 6 Wu-Dang members and they run off like little bitches. I know Wu-Tang couldn't have called themselves Shaolin Clan or anything like that, but why pick such a bitch clan to name yourself after?
  6. Nah 50 Cent is spoken word...Killer Mike is fuckin Killer! B
  7. Yeah that is my main contention with why I am really ok with Persona being the series that keeps going. DDS started, evolved, and finished. It is all contained in those 2 (3) games. It is just I played Nocturne and DDS 1 and 2 before I had ever even heard the word Persona or Devil Summoner. And after playing those, the persona series feels like a back-step in terms of gameplay. The stories are top notch, but it took me a while to get used to Persona 3 after DDS. No doubt they could come up with new stories and make a new DDS, but really they should just take some of what makes DDS unique (from Persona) and put it into a new Persona game. I also enjoyed the setting of DDS more so than just a normal city in Japan with a Demon Tower in it. God I wanna play DDS and Nocturne again now...
  8. They need to make a new Devil Summoner or Digital Devil Saga game. I get Persona is all big and stuff right now, but I liked the other SMT games as much if not more than the Persona games. I hate having to explore the damn school and figure where everything is EVERY game.... Not that I would complain about Persona 5 mind you.
  9. Not yet, but if everything works out right she will be in on the headstart as well. She's leaning towards an Elementalist too so it looks like we shouldn't have any real overlap as far as class goes for now. As I see more and more videos it reminds me just how much fun I had in GW1. The graphics weren't all cutting edge or anything, but I really just like the aesthetic of the artists for the game and the way they drew. Reminded me of Dungeon Siege 2 which is another of those games where there graphics aren't the best, but for some reason I just love how they look.
  10. So my wonderful beautiful wife suprised me with a paid off Digital Deluxe version of the game just now, so I will be on during the headstart, so fuck yeah! p.s. My wife is the best!
  11. I will definately be joining GW ASAP. Don't know if I will have the money when it comes out (or whenever the head start starts), but by the first of Sept. I should be on. From everything I have read and seen so far a Mesmer looks like the class I want to play. Engineer and theif look cool too, but I think a LOT of people will be playing them (more so than other classes). If and when we have a server picked out let me know. See ya'll then!
  12. Darksiders 2 is an RPG....OMG!!
  13. Doctor Who Origin movie planned for 50th anniversary.... Which radio show? I have a lot of the newer radio programs from Big Finish. If they had old radio shows back in the day that would be awesome to hear.
  14. lol no I didn't want to lump you in with the brits is all
  15. Well here in the US, unless you specifically follow it, we don't hear much about the UK music industry unless it involves something Beatles related or if some star who was originally British (or from the UK) makes it big over here in the States. Dizzee, I think, has too strong of an accent to really ever make it big here, it was suprising to see just HOW popular he was over there. It would be like UGK or 3 6 Mafia playing the Olympics here. Dizzee isn't exactly "clean cut," but that just goes to show you how much farther you guys have progressed when it comes to society and equallity and everything we are supposed to stand for here in the US.
  16. UGK is putting out new stuff still?? Also just wanted to second Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music as some of the best stuff of the year, can not get enough of that album. And did everyone see Dizzee Rascal perform at the Olympics? Didn't think he was THAT popular over there.
  17. ok wtf is with them throwing out people who aren't gonna win anything so they save their energy for ANOTHER race??? The whole badminton thing I can understand though I don't agree with it but now a runner has been thrown out as well. This is the first I have ever even heard of that rule or seen it enforced with such vigor. edit: Runner has been reinstated...
  18. not to knock Minaj, cause really I do like a couple of her songs, but she always looked to me like she was there in Indiana Jones when they open the Ark and she closed her eyes JUSt in time, but still saw a small part and that blasted her face back a little...I dunno. Still hit it though.
  19. I have read some other Clowes since you introduced me to him and I have to say I still think "Like a Velvet Glove" is the best. granted it is the only one I have read more than once, none of the other stuck with me quite like it did. Still nice to hear about him getting some more work out to a broader audience. Be great if Lynch one day DID do a Velvet Glove movie...I am talking Lost Highway-era Lynch.
  20. There is a documentary out called Kumare, about a guy pretending to be a fake guru. Haven't watched it yet, but it looks good. I'd put up links and all that jazz, but you can google it a lot easier.
  21. I am literally giddy as a schoolgirl for this.....omgomgomgomgomg (still doesn't know how to post gifs)
  22. OMFG!! If we only truly thought about it...it still makes no fucking sense at all and jesus christ is this dude serious?? Sonic and Mario = Masonic!! Brilliant@!!
  23. Just wanted to post my opinion about the whole Badminton scandal (because that is really the only sport I am following since I can not find ANYTHING about ping pong this year). They were disqualified because they didn't follow the Olympic standard of "trying your best" basically. But isn't it part of sport the strategy on and off the field (so to speak). Yeah, it may be bitch for the people watching to see your competitors purposely throw a match, but if that means a better chance for you to get a gold, I would consider that a very valid strategy for a team. It would be the same thing as disqualifying every swimmer who didn't try their best even though they only had to be in the top 8 to make it to the next round.
  24. Yeah I would LOVE to see Olympic Boxing, or just anything we don't see all the rest of the 4 years the Olympics aren't on. Even trying to download events is difficult except for the obvious contenders like Swimming and Running and Basketball and Football (Soccer). But with the whole Badminton scandal going on right now, I don't think it is going to rise in popularity like Curling did in the Winter Olympics.
  25. For some reason even though I have DirecTV I cant watch live streaming, so I have had to pirate anything I have seen. But I only care about Badminton, Ping Pong and Pole Vaulting. maybe some diving. But basketball?? really? nothing else??
